Jag ska i denna uppsats ta upp tre olika filosofers definitioner och anvÀndande av begreppet rationalitet och analysera, tolka och jÀmföra dessa. De filosofer jag har lÀst in mig pÄ skiljer sig i det att de argumenterar för olika normativa filosofier. Jag har lÀst Kant som Àr deontolog, Singer som Àr utilitarist och Regan som Àr rÀttighetsteoretiker. Jag kommer att introducera och analysera varje enskild filosofs definition och anvÀndande för att sedan jÀmföra och söka efter likheter och skillnader. Jag kommer ocksÄ att diskutera vad dessa skillnader och likheter kan bero pÄ och vad det kan ge för resultat.

Background and problem: There is a continuous debate regarding incentive programs in public companies. Since the global financial crisis and the subsequent recession in 2008, the criticism has reached even higher levels. Various regulatory authorities as well as influential external actors require stronger regulations and limitation of the monetary compensation in publicly held companies. Share-based payments are based on the development of the market value of the company. This means there is an existing relation between the owners? and the managers? interests.

Hedgefonder har blivit en allt viktigare investeringskÀlla i egenskap av en möjlig positiv avkastning vid fallande finansiella marknader. Dock exponeras investerare i allmÀnhet och smÄsparare i synnerhet mot högre risker Àn en motsvarande placering i traditionella fonder; detta mot bakgrund av strukturella betingelser, ett brett spektrum av finansiella instrument och en hög belÄningsgrad. Emellertid har brakförluster i fonder som LTCM, Maricopa, Manhattan och Beacon Hill skapat turbulens pÄ de finansiella marknaderna. Följaktligen vill investerare ha större insyn i hedgefonders verksamhet. Den hÀr uppsatsen undersöker om en informationsrelation mellan hedgefondförvaltare och investerare ger upphov till en konflikt.

The purpose of this master's thesis is to examine and compare the process of starting a school library at schools which haven't had a school library before, and to examine and compare the experience of this process according to the principals and the persons responsible for the school library.I have examined two Swedish independent primary schools (age 6-15 years). I have made qualitative interviews with the principals and the persons responsible for the new school library. In all, I have made seven interviews. As requested by the new Swedish Educational Act, both schools had recently started creating school libraries. One of the schools had recruited a half-time teacher-librarian and the other had no staffing at all.In the interviews, I have examined the attitudes of the informants towards school libraries, if this attitude has changed during the process of starting the school library, the informants' experiences during this process and the informants' views on the school library as an agent for student achievement.

Hammarby Sjöstad is a new district in Stockholm with high environmental standard. Stockholm Water Company evaluates a local wastewater treatment plant with cutting edge technology. The first step is an experimental treatment plant (Sjöstadsverket) with four parallel lines of treatment, each with a capacity to treat wastewater from 150 persons. Within the membrane technology subproject the possibility of using reverse osmosis (usually called RO) to regain nutrients is examined.Reverse osmosis separates the incoming water in a clean permeate and a concentrate that, as the name indicates, is a more concentrated version of the incoming water. Using this method in wastewater treatment, a solution high in nutrients can be obtained without the use of chemical precipitation agent and with no production of sludge.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether there is a correlation between the actuarial assumptions, of listed groups in Large Cap on the Nasdaq Stockholm, equity ratio and their pensionplans funding status.Method: The study is based on a quantitative research method, where the analysis of annual reports takes place. The quantitative research method has enabled the paper to perform related analyzes and comparisons of means between groups, for listed companies equity ratio and pension obligation, and the relation to its actuarial assumptions. Correlation measurements are made using a non-parametric method, Spearman's rho, then further tested using one-sided hypotheses t-test.Theory: The backbone of the thesis is presented using two theories, earnings management and the principal-agent theory. These theories are intertwined with the previous researches, which also dealt with the essay topic of earnings management in previous years and in other countries.Empirical: Correlation analyzes between the studied actuarial assumptions and corporate groups solidity and pension financial status is presentedusing tables and charts. These are further analyzed using hypothesis tests and scatterplots.Conclusion: All tests resulted in very weak correlation between the different variables and can there for not be classified as significant.

Denna studie syftar till att, med barns perspektiv, synliggöra barns egna uppfattningar av sin förskolas inomhusmiljö. Vidare Àr syftet att undersöka hur barnens tal om olika platser kan förstÄs med utgÄngspunkt i ett posthumanistiskt perspektiv och teorin om agentisk realism. Studien Àr kvalitativ och empirin har samlats in genom intervjuer med barn. Jag har anvÀnt mig av intervjumetoden ?walk and talk? , vilket innebÀr att jag genomfört gÄturer tillsammans med barnen i inomhusmiljön.

Att framföra ett utryckningsfordon skiljer sig frÄn att framföra en vanlig bil bland annat för de större friheter gÀllande trafikregler utryckningsförarna har. Dessa inkluderar bÄde rÀtten att köra i högre hastigheter Àn annan trafik, men Àven möjligheten att krÀva fri vÀg frÄn andra trafikanter. Detta skapar en speciell interaktion mellan trafikanterna i trafiken dÀr utryckningsfordonet kan ses som en lagligt olaglig agent. Avsaknaden pÄ restriktioner gör dock körningen helt beroende pÄ de enskilda utryckningsförarnas bedömning kring körbeteende. Trots det finns det inga nationella riktlinjer i Sverige fÀllande utbildning av utryckningsförare.Den hÀr studien undersökte normer och vÀrderingar kring trafiksÀkerhet hos operativ personal inom en ambulansorganisation.

The aim of this essay is to study how the University Church is represented in student newspapers. By conducting an inductive thematic analysis on sixteen articles chosen from newspapers distributed by the student union at three Swedish universities, the main purpose of the study is to further understand the role and function of the University Church in a contemporary Swedish context. Three themes emerging from the initial step of the thematic analysis were chosen for further analysis: (1) a secularized church?, (2) provocation and (3) reasons to seek out the University Church. The themes were then highlighted by two theoretical perspectives: Mark Chaves? theory of internal secularization and a theoretical framework developed by Anders BÀckström with the aim to explain the role of the church as a welfare agent in Sweden.The study shows that the University Church is portrayed as both an ambiguous and complex organization.

In this thesis, three separate experiments have been performed on different aspects of the interaction between the causal agent of clubroot, Plasmodiophora brassicae, and its hosts. In the first experiment the pathotype of the P. brassicae single spore isolate, which is currently used to construct a reference genome, has been classified using the ECD bioassay. The disease severity of infected plants was scored according to two different scales and the pathotype was determined according to three previously published guidelines. The results were compared to previous published studies describing the e3 isolate. The life cycle of P. brassicae is not well understood.

SammanfattningSyftet med vÄr undersökning var att förklara det svenska helÀgda kommunala aktiebolagets funktionella inriktning. HelÀgda kommunala aktiebolag prÀglas av sin sÀrart, de verkar under vissa regler och lagar som inte tillÀmpas pÄ privata aktiebolag och har en politisk Àgare, denna sÀrart förvÀntade vi oss skulle pÄverka dess styrelses funktionella inriktning. Den största delen av tidigare studier angÄende styrelsens funktionella inriktning Àr utförda i den privata sektorn, vilket har inneburit att vi har utvecklat befintliga teorier med hÀnsyn till det helÀgda kommunala aktiebolagets sÀrart. För att uppnÄ mÄlet med vÄr undersökning valde vi att anvÀnda ett positivistiskt synsÀtt med en deduktiv ansats. För att undersöka styrelsens funktionella inriktning har vi baserat undersökningen pÄ institutionell-, agent-, stewardship- och public choice teori.

Abstrakt I den hÀr uppsatsen i statsvetenskap studeras Rysslands president Vladimir Putins agerande under Krim-krisen. Den har som syfte att söka en rationell förklaring för dennes agerande med Ätanke av att ytterst fÄ vÀsterlÀndska bedömare förmÄdde förutse en rysk intervention pÄ Krim. Samt att pÄ ett bredare plan analysera svÄrigheterna med att förutse militÀra interventioner.  För att ge en sÄdan förklaring anvÀnds en rally-round-the-flag modell som kompletterande perspektiv. Materialet till studien har funnits i huvudsak i massmediala kÀllor dÀr nyhetsartiklar som analyserar hÀndelseförloppet och motiven bakom det har studerats.

Uppsatsen syfte Àr att belysa maskulinitetsnormer i utbildningsmaterialet Machofabriken. UtifrÄn en teoretisk förstÄelse problematiseras ocksÄ hur handlingsutrymmet att göra maskulinitet kan pÄverkas för de deltagande killarna efter att de har tagit del av Machofabrikens verksamhet. De mer specifika frÄgestÀllningarna Àr:Vilka förestÀllningar kring maskulinitet ger utbildningsmaterialet Machofabriken uttryck för? Vilka maskuliniteter bör förÀndras och varför, och vad bör de ersÀttas med?Hur ska förÀndring genomföras, vilka Àr Machofabrikens verksamma komponenter?Vilka konsekvenser kan Machofabrikens verksamhet fÄ för de deltagande killarna efter att de har arbetat med utbildningsmaterialet?Metod och material: En kvalitativ ide- och ideologianalys av utbildningsmaterialet Machofabriken som Àr uppsatsens empiriska material.Huvudresultat: Analysen av utbildningsmaterialet Machofabriken pÄvisade att problematiska maskuliniteter, mÄnga gÄnger med vÄldstendenser, framstÀlldes i metodmaterialets filmer i större utstrÀckning Àn önskvÀrda maskuliniteter. Det tryckta textmaterialet med arbetsövningar och diskussionsfrÄgor har dock potential att lyfta fram hur maskuliniteter Àr en social konstruktion och dÀrför förÀnderlig.

Bakgrund och problem: Årsredovisningar har till syfte att redovisa information om företagets finansiella situation. Om det finns felaktigheter i denna information pĂ„verkar det företagets intressenter. Idag finns det möjligheter för vd:n att pĂ„verka resultatet via olika tekniker i den riktning som han/hon anser Ă€r lĂ€mplig.  Det kan finnas olika anledningar bakom dessa aktioner och en som uppmĂ€rksammats Ă€r att vd:ns relation till styrelsen kan ha inverkan pĂ„ anvĂ€ndandet av earnings management. I denna studie har vĂ„r avsikt varit att undersöka om det finns nĂ„got samband i anvĂ€ndandet av earnings management och vd:ns inblandning i styrelsen.Syfte: Syftet Ă€r att undersöka om earnings management förekommer i större omfattning i företag dĂ€r vd:n Ă€r invald i styrelsen Ă€n företag dĂ€r vd:n inte Ă€r med i styrelsenMetod: Studien har anvĂ€nts sig av en kvantitativ forskningsstrategi, dĂ€r utgĂ„ngspunkten har varit en deduktiv forskningsansats. I insamlandet av data har vi anvĂ€nt oss av en metod som heter innehĂ„llsanalys.

In this examination project I look into what ways upper secondary school students conceive themselves as politically influenced before they voted for the general election of 2010. The purpose is to examine which influences the upper secondary school surroundings and the classes of civic education are contributing with to students before they voted. As a method, I have used personal, semi-structural interviews on eight upper secondary school students who all voted for a party represented in the parliament. I have asked questions about how they believe their parents, the surroundings of their school and the classes of civic education have influenced them. To separate which influences primarily the upper secondary school and the classes of civic educations have had on the students, I have selected two comparison groups of four students in each.
