Sweden was once described as one of the most stable political systems in the world, but the parliament elections of 1988 and 1991 showed that Sweden was no exception from the growing instability in west democratic political systems.The stability and instability that followed in the west democratic political systems is believed to be explained by the political parties? efforts to adjust to changes in their political environment. This has lead them to cartelize and the cartel party is believed to prefer stability over triumph for various reasons.The established political parties are believed to be able to manipulate the political agenda in such a way that political topics that would have caused great turbulence in the political system, if debated, are kept away from the political agenda.

The study aims to show how the publicity surrounding the Sweden Democrats have been during November in 2012 when polls for the party rose. The method that has been used is quantitative content analysis and a total of 215 articles from tabloids Expressen and Aftonbladet are encoded. The period of the encoded material has been in November 2012 and the variables have been designed to answer how much publicity Sweden Democrats have received during that period, any topic that the articles touched on, the actors that have been cited, if players have received criticism or praise, how the party looked like and if certain words were used in the articles.The theories of the study are based on agenda setting, priming, ?The spiral of silence? and democratic role of the media. They concern, among other things, how media sets the agenda for what people think is important and how after being exposed to something, subconsciously creates a feedback about the phenomenon.The results show that the Sweden Democrats have received much negative publicity at a time when their poll numbers increase, which goes against the established truth that says that positive publicity is beneficial to the parties while the negative publicity is adverse..

Den liberala demokratin står inför en rad problem när det gäller att skapa ett långsiktigt hållbart samhälle. För det första finns en inbyggd strävan efter ekonomisk tillväxt, vilket ekologismen anser är en omöjlig kombination med hållbar utveckling. Det andra problemet är att kompabiliteten mellan den statliga miljöpolicyn och den liberala demokratin ofta ifrågasätts på grund av att den strider mot principerna om den statliga neutraliteten. Med bakgrund av dessa kompabilitetsproblem mellan den liberala demokratin och den hållbara utvecklingen har ett antal lösningar diskuterats under senare år. Tanken på ett ekologiskt medborgarskap har presenterats och diskuterats av flera olika teoretiker som en tänkbar ersättare av det liberala medborgarskapet.

This paper aims to find out how media in different countries in the same part of a continent portray the latest development in the Korean conflict. To achieve this, the articles published by two newspapers, The Japan Times and The Korea Times, in the last five months have been analysed. The theory used to analyse the published articles is the agenda setting theory. I denna uppsats har vi valt att undersöka om den landsortsbaserade dagstidningen Östgöta Correspondenten visar upp ett nazistiskt förhållningssätt åren 1933 och 1938 vad gäller rapportering och om det återfinns eventuella ställningstaganden i denna rapportering, samt om det förekommer en skillnad mellan dessa årtal. I uppsatsen har vi sökt svara på hur Östgöta Correspondentens rapportering om Nazityskland såg ut, vilka källor tidningen använde och hur källkritisk tidningen var till dessa. Vidare har vi sökt svara på hur eventuella nazistiska tendenser i Östgöta Correspondenten såg ut och hur de har utvecklats under undersökta årtal. Vi har även undersökt om tidningens tolkningsramar präglats av en nazistisk agenda samt hur självständig tidningen varit mot nazistisk propaganda. Vår teoretiska utgångspunkt har varit teorin om framing.

This Bachelor Thesis looks at the cooperation between the Swedish civil society and theEuropean Union (EU), and it aims at evaluating Swedish civil society organizations' influencewithin the EU's development work on policy level. It focuses primarily on eight civil societyorganizations, and it is based on empirical material collected in Stockholm and Gothenburg,Sweden. The material has been analyzed using three theoretical frameworks. The firstdetermines whether the structure of the EU allows bottom-up influence, the second looks atthe communication between the EU and civil society organizations, and the third assesseswhether the civil society has the ability to influence the political agenda within the EU?sdevelopment work.Conclusions of the thesis include determining the complex structure of the EU as a mainobstacle to influencing the EU's development work.

Making decisions have always been part of human life. Political decisions consist of many participants with both formal and informal ways to highlight problems and reach the political agenda. This study intends to examine the impact of a well known debate page in one of Sweden?s biggest newspapers, Dagens Nyheter. We have done this by analysing Ekot, Aktuellt, Göteborgs Posten and Västerbottens-Kuriren to see to what extent they ?take? news from the debate page.The method used was content analysis and to describe some of our thoughts about how we placed the hits in different categories we chose eight of our hits to exemplify.The material from the newspapers, radio and television was examined to discover the potential impact from the debate page.To carry out this study we have mainly used theories about how media get influenced by each other?s news and how they do follow-ups and refer to the original media. Other theories of importance for our study are for example those about what kinds of events that become news and how media influences people?s thoughts about what?s important.One of the most important conclusions we were able to draw after carrying out our study was that the debate page in Dagens Nyheter has quite a small impact on what our chosen media reported on.

A controversial party?s entry into parliament - a review of Expressen?s depiction of the Sweden Democrats (Sverigedemokraterna)The purpose of this essay was to study how Expressen presents the Sweden Democrats, as well as reasoning about the effects this depiction could have on the citizens? opinion. Using a quantitative method I studied 122 articles, and through a qualitative method four of these could be further analyzed to reach a deeper result. The theoretical perspective that was applied in this study was primary agenda-setting and framing theory, to illuminate the power of media. The result showed that a prominent theme was to present Sweden Democrats as racists.

För att ge en bild av hur den mer alldagliga bevakningen ser ut undersöks även en slumpmässigt vald vecka.För att besvara syftet utgår undersökningen från tre frågeställningar rörande undersökta artiklars källor, tidningarnas nyhetsvärdering och hovets mediestrategier. I undersökningen har en kvantitativ och en kvalitativ metod använts. Som teoretisk utgångspunkt har teorin om agenda setting samt medieforskaren Kristina Widestedts forskning om hovjournalistik legat till grund.Studiens resultat visar på en obalans i bevakningen av kungahuset.

Uppsala universitet The aim of this master?s thesis is to investigate, through text analysis, the role of copyright in development, with particular interest of how the concepts knowledge and access to knowledge are used in Access to Knowledge Draft Treaty and WIPO Development Agenda. The definition of the concept knowledge, as it is used in copyright, is based in a Western historical and philosophical context and therefore excludes knowledge created in another type of society. The consequences of this exclusion have effects on development. Further it is stated that knowledge according to the global copyright scheme will be reduced to a commodity, which will have consequences not only in societies in the global South.

Situational Action Theory avser att föra samman dessa två synsätt för att bilda en integrerad kriminologisk handlingsteori. Vad får Situational Action Theory för stöd i den kriminologiska forskningen? Vad finns för kritik? Och vad bör forskningen fokusera ytterligare på när det kommer till att testa teorin? Den forskning som finns tillgänglig och som jag presenterar i denna litteraturgenomgång visar att teorin får stöd i empirisk forskning. De flesta studier visar att teorin får bra stöd, några visar stöd för vissa delar av teorin medan andra delar av teorin inte får något stöd.
