Does goodwill affect the cost of capital? Goodwill is an asset which is characterized by much uncertainty regarding both what it is and how much it is really worth. Based on economic theory about information risk and principal-agent problems as well as theory regarding the cost of capital we test for the hypothesis that debt and equity investors perceive goodwill as something risky and hence demand compensation for taking on this extra risk. The proxies used for the cost of capital are cost of debt, beta and the EP-ratio. On a general level we find that increasing the level of goodwill seems to result in higher cost of capital as represented by the three proxies.

Handling, loading, transport time and unloading in connection to transport of farm animals affect animal welfare. Induced effects include both psychological and physiological stress responses in animals. The physiological parameters may be measured through blood analysis while behavioural changes often manifest themselves through increased vocalisation, escape attempts and apathy. Physiological parameters are additional parameters of importance when measuring animal stress responses. The handlers behavior during transport has been shown to have major impact on animal welfare and the quality of meat. Animal friendly handling and driving of animals create a more manageable work environment for the handlers. To further increase animal welfare in connection to transport, stables should be built with well adapted drift passage and ramps on the transport vehicle.

The purpose of this paper is to examine how the traditional airlines' strategies are affected by the low-cost carriers emergence and their business model and in wich ways they can achieve profitability. Furthermore we also want to examine the factors that affect the airlines' efficiency and competitiveness.The results of this study shows that the growth of the low-cost carriers have affected the network airlines' strategies as they, among other things, had to also lower their fares. This has forced them to revise their cost and efficiency in their entire operation. The result has also shown that the network companies can not come down to the same level of low costs as the low-cost carriers, and must therefore examine their ability to increase revenues instead. .

Vi som gjorde den här studien heter Marie-Louise Ekvall- Måbring och Tanya Dimitrova. Vi studerar Barn och Ungdomsvetenskap 80 poäng på Lärarhögskolan i Malmö. Syftet var att se hur 1-2 åringar kommunicerar med sin omgivning. Hur gör de sig förstådda? Hur tas deras kommunikation emot av omgivningen? Frågeställningarna har legat som fokus genom arbetet för att upprätthålla den röda tråden.

Att öka tillgängligheten och få människor att använda stadens parker och grönområden som en naturlig del i vardagen är också ett sätt att förbättra folkhälsan. Forskning som folkhälsoinstitutet gjort visar att människor vistas mer regelbundet i grönområden om avståndet inte överstiger 300 m.En kvantitativ fältstudie med strukturerade enkätfrågor genomfördes med 98 stycken deltagare runt omkring stortorget i centrala Gävle.Studiens syfte var att undersöka vilken inverkan närheten till grönområden från boendemiljön har på människors självupplevda hälsa samt att jämföra skillnader mellan olika åldersgrupper, kön och typ av boende. I studien undersöktes även användandet av den egna trädgården / innergården samt användande, avstånd och typ av grönområdet samt vilken inverkan störande ljud och tysta miljöer har för människors upplevda hälsa.Resultaten visade att det finns en signifikant skillnad mellan kön och typ av boende men framför allt inom olika åldersgrupper när det gäller människors självupplevda hälsa och att dessa effekter framför allt var kopplade till grönområdet. Resultaten styrker även tidigare forskning om att avståndet till grönområdet har stor betydelse för hälsa och välbefinnande.

Vi är två högskolestudenter som studerar med inriktning mot grundskolans årskurs 4-6. Vi är intresserade av ny teknik och dess påverkan på elever och lärare inom ämnet matematik.Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka om användning av IKT har effekt på matematikundervisningen och hur det påverkar elevernas lärande i ämnet. I denna uppsats genomförs en studie av relevant litteratur. Den-na studie inriktar sig mot årskurs 4-9 i ämnet matematik och IKT-användning i detta ämne.Resultatet visar att eleverna blir mer aktiva i sin inlärning med hjälp av IKT-verktyg. Eleverna visar på bete-endeförändringar i form av att de blir bättre förberedda för inlärning och att de blir mer engagerade i sin utbildningsprocess.

Producing a building is a long and complex process. It consists of several parts, from the feasibility study and design stage onto the construction and finally the management of the building. The design process is a critical part of the process where construction plans are made. The quality of the plans affect the production phase in great extent and faulty plans can pose a risk for extra costs for all parts in the process. The cost of producing dwellings has increased the last years and the detail design process is one of many phases where improvements can mean cost savings within the whole building process.This report aims to point at parts within the detail design process which could be more efficient, regarding communication, follow-up and time planning, and to give suggestions for improvements.

Uppsatsen behandlar användandet av videotext som text i egen rätt med syfte att undersöka huruvida Utbildningsradions skolprogram kan vara till nytta för eleverna. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är att ett sociokulturellt perspektiv på lärande är lämpligt eftersom avkodning av text är en aktiv process där lyssnaren interagerar med texten för att skapa mening och därmed lärande.Språkforskning och forskning kring användandet av audiovisuell text visar att engelsktextade och nivåanpassade program effektiviserar ordinlärningen hos eleverna. Tidigare forskning tyder på att det finns en koppling mellan top-down- respektive bottom-up-strategier i växelverkan vid läsning, och videotextens möjligheter att presentera en tydligare helhet med fler möjligheter att associera ords betydelser till ljud, bild, känsla och liknande. Undersökningen jämför om ordinlärningen utifrån en videotext ger mer eller mindre behållning än ordinlärning utifrån en tryckt text. Först gjordes ett förtest av de tillhörande ordlistorna.

SammanfattningSyftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka lärares materiella och strukturella resurser samt hur de använder sig av dessa i sin läs- och skrivundervisning i åk f-3. Denna studie bygger på intervjuer med sex lärare som arbetar i grundskolans tidigare år. Vi har studerat ämnet utifrån ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Den teoretiska genomgången behandlar läs- och skrivlärande ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv. Därefter presenteras en avgränsad del av forskning kring barns läs- och skrivlärande för tidigare år.Metoden i detta examensarbete utgörs av kvalitativa intervjuer med sex lärare i åk f-3. Samtliga deltagare har arbetat i skolans värld i många år.

Syftet med studien är att ta reda på hur elever upplever sin fysiska klassrumsmiljö, hur en önskvärd miljö skulle kunna se ut samt vad de tycker är bra respektive dåligt med sin klassrumsmiljö. Undersökningen utfördes genom en kvalitativ intervju med elever i år 1-3. Eleverna intervjuades i grupp om tre och två olika skolor var med i undersökningen. Resultatet visar att de flesta elever verkar ganska nöjda med sin klassrumsmiljö. De vill gärna ha en plats att sitta avskilt på samt en bekväm plats där de kan sitta och exempelvis läsa. Många av dem anser att de störs av ljud från andra klassrum och utifrån.

The purpose of this study is to investigate how social media can affect and influence the B2B-relationship. Social media is now a widespread and accepted tool for communication in many B2C-companies; therefore we find it interesting to examine how social media can find its place in the communication mix of B2B-companies. We are also aiming to distinguish standards in how social media is practiced and discussed in the context of the B2B-market. We have applied a qualitative method for this study and we have interviewed seven respondents, which are experts in social media or working with market communication at B2B-companies in Sweden. During our study we have identified several comparable attributes within the B2B market and their opinions about how social media should be approach and adopt in the communication mix of the company..

The most specialized tool used for riding is the bit, in particular the curb. As museum catalogues become accessible to the public through the internet, riders will look for information about bits. It is then important that the information provided in the catalogues is valid not just for the curator, archaeologist or art historian, but also for the rider.In this paper, I add context to the bits by explaining two opposing philosophies of bitting, and how they affect the design of the bits. This is followed by a brief history of the art of riding and how the bits have evolved since the 16?th century.

The purpose of this essay is to determine and gain an understanding of how representatives of the broadcast industry looks at the phenomenon of web-TV and especially the different kinds of online video services and how they believe this will affect the television. Methods used are qualitative interviews which we compared with previous studies on the subject and acknowledged communication theories. The respondents were people with good insight and understanding of the media and TV industry.
