"Oprah" i den senmoderna offentliga sfären. En textanalys av "The Oprah Winfrey Show" och dess funktion i samhället
The intention of this thesis is to examine "The Oprah Winfrey Show" and its position and functions in the public sphere. Particularly interesting aspects are like the linking of private and public issues, the show's potential as a forum for debate and dissemination of knowledge, and what types of criticism the show has been subjected to. The methods used dealt with the textual aspects of the show. Semiotic analysis and conversation analysis were applied to five episodes and a search of literature was made. The thesis rests on theories concerning television studies and talk shows, in addition to theories on modernity and identity.
Strategy and change stories at work - Translating ideal official stories into real case stories
When referring to the same event, people can have different assumptions. What is interesting to see is why these assumptions are different, why do people have different stories? Some of the reasons could be different levels of expectation, different communication channels or even different cultural backgrounds. We have analysed all these by having a case study within a company that has recently gone through a change management/strategy implementation process.The research reviewed in this paper originates in two different worlds. One world is a research world where stories come from textbooks and articles.

The purpose of this essay is to examine when teachers choose to discuss mathematics withstudents rather then just talk about mathematics. A definition where used to distinguish betweenan interaction that is not a discussion and an interaction that is a discussion. This definition hasbeen created by drawing ideas from other works into making a quite simple definition whichtherefore is easy to observe. The discussions are also separated into two different kinds ofdiscussions. The first and most common category of discussion are one where only imitativereasoning is used.
"Barn är viktigare nu på något vis" : En kvalitativ studie om hur fem pedagoger resonerar och praktiskt arbetar med barns inflytande och delaktighet i förskolan
The aim of this study is to investigate into the use of discussions in the classroom to help the pupils develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts and operations. The empirical data contain interviews with two teachers and observations from their lessons. The purpose of the interviews was to find out what importance the teachers ascribed to the ability of their pupils to talk about mathematics, and how they organised their classes to encourage mathematical discussions. With the observations, I was able to see the interaction in the classroom and hear discussions between the teacher and the pupils, as well as between the pupils themselves.The interviewed teachers proved to share my own belief in the results of researchers like Malmer (1999) and Löwing (2006) about the importance of verbal discussion, argumentation and reflection during mathematics classes. But convictions derived from the research of others are one thing, the practical application of the wisdom in the classroom another.
Ranking of key factors when a company makes their choice of advertising agency
Att demokrati är ett mångfacetterat begrepp är en utgångspunkt för denna studie. Tolkningsfriheten av demo-krati är stor ? både i samhället och inom skolväsendet. Ett intresse för studien är att undersöka vad lärare lägger för innebörd i begreppet demokratiska värderingar, men även hur förutsättningar skapas för att demokratiska värden ska genereras, hur demokratiska värden utvärderas samt varför lärarna tycker att demokratiarbetet är viktigt är aspekter som denna studie belyser.Åtta lärare deltog i studien, varav hälften arbetade inom årskurs 6 och resterande hälft i årskurs 9. Det över-gripande syftet är att söka likheter och skillnader mellan lärares syn på demokratiarbetet i dessa årskurser.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva i vilken grad företag som är ISO 14001 certifierade även implementerar sina miljömål i sina affärsidéer och visioner. Empirin är samlad från 50 företag som är ISO 14001 certifierade.Enligt empirin som analyserades var det 25% av företagen som förespråkade sitt miljöarbete i visionen och 20% hade inkluderat sina miljömål i sin affärsidé. Alla hade däremot utarbetade miljöstrategier som grundade sig antingen på miljömål, miljöpolicys, miljöprinciper m.m. I det stora hela såg strategin liknande ut oavsett bransch och verksamhet.Utgångspunkten i vår teori var att visionen skall ange framtida riktlinjer åt företag och ge ramar för affärsidén, mål och strategier. I praktiken såg det annorlunda ut.

This is a qualitative study based on five semi-structured interviews in Sweden. The aim of the study is to explore what experiences non-monogamous people have of dating and the social support surrounding them. The study investigates what effects norms and normative structures have on non-monogamous dating. This is done through a thematic analysis with queer theory, and the underlying theoretical concepts performativity, heteronormativity, mononormativity, relationship escalator and queer temporalities. To help analyze the social support, we have used Bourdieu's (1986) theory about social capital.

A debate on environmental issues and food safety has been ongoing in Sweden and it is suggested that consumers' are seeking local produce instead of global and exotic foods. Moreover, studies show that the consumers? positive attitude towards local produce does not reflect their actions. The purpose with this thesis is to contribute to a better understanding of the dissonance between the consumer?s attitudes and actual behaviour towards local produce.

I dag är det vanligt förekommande att företag använder sig av kändisar i sin marknadsföring. De hjälper till att stärka igenkännandet och får konsumenter att välja just den varan de marknadsför framför konkurrenternas varor. Men är det verkligen så bra att använda sig av kändisar? Finns det andra karaktärer som skapar större igenkännande?Vårt syfte är att ta reda på vilken typ av karaktär som skapar starkast igenkännande till ett varumärke. De karaktärerna vi har undersökt är kändisar, egenskapade fysiska karaktärer och egenskapade animerade karaktärer.Studien har genomförts med en kvantitativ ansats.
