The aim of the paper is to examine how public libraries can develop their services for children with ethnic minority backgrounds as a user group. This is achieved through studying the conditions for library services provided for children aged 9-12 in this group by public libraries in suburbs densely populated with ethnic minorities. The paper uses both a literature review and empirical research on the community libraries in Rinkeby and Rosengård as well as the town library in Lund. Services potentially available to these groups are analysed and discussed in the later chapters. The overall conclusion is that those services provided for ethnic minority children are largely the same as those provided for in children library services in general.

Med anledning av forskning som visat att dålig fysisk form i barn- och ungdomen är förknippat med sämre hälsa i vuxen ålder, var denna studies syfte att kartlägga Skellefteå ungdomars relation till föreningsidrott. En enkät delades ut till slupmässigt valda skolor och bestod av frågor rörande när och isåfall varför de väljer att sluta med föreningsidrott, samt vad det är som gör att de som fortsätter med föreningsidrott? Data från 196 deltagare analyserades statistiskt. Resultaten visade att ungefär 55 procent av deltagarna slutat med idrott och medeåldern för avhopp var 14 år. De tre vanligaste anledningarna till avhopp var ?Jag tappade motivation?, ?Annan aktivitet/intresse tog min tid? och ?Tråkiga träningar?.

SammanfattningSyftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur Värmlands Museum utarbetar sin verksamhet och förmedlar sitt samhällsuppdrag mot skolan, samt hur verksamma lärare i praktiken nyttjar länsmuseet i historieundervisningen för grundskolans tidigare år.I undersökningen besvaras två frågeställningar: ?På vilket sätt organiserar Värmlands museum sin pedagogiska verksamhet för att bidra till historieundervisningen i grundskolans tidigare år?? och ?Hur används Värmlands Museum i historieundervisningen för grundskolans tidigare år??Grunden för arbetet består utav kvalitativa intervjuer. Två museipedagoger som är anställda sedan ett respektive två år på Värmlands Museum och fyra lärare som har praktiserat sitt yrke från nio till trettio år på olika skolområden i Värmland, har intervjuats.Resultatet från undersökningen visar att Värmlands Museum erbjuder flera pedagogiska program som kan användas i grundskolans historieundervisning. Merparten utav programmen har utgångspunkt i två permanenta utställningar. Lärarna har nyttjat museet i historieundervisningen med olika syften.

Denna explorativa studie analyserar gemensamma och differentiella mönster för kommunikation och beteende hos användare i Hjälpforum. Målet med studien är att kartlägga aktiva användartyper med syfte att ge SVT kunskap om Hjälpforumets användare. Om forumadministratörer har mer kunskap om användarna i Hjälpforum kan de anpassa sin kommunikation utifrån användarnas individuella behov och öka deras förmåga att bidra med mer kvalitativ återkoppling. Detta kan i sin tur bidra till en positivare inställning och ökat förtroende hos användare i Hjälpforum. I denna studie kunde fem användartyper kartläggas i Hjälpforum med stöd av egen empiri och tidigare forskning.

Om fysisk aktivitet påverkar lärandet och har många andra positiva effekter kan man undra om inte skolans idrottstimmar borde utökas. Syftet med litteraturstudien är att undersöka vad tillgänglig forskning säger när det gäller sambandet mellan fysisk aktivitet och lärande i skolan. Materialet till studien har sökts i relevanta databaser. För att ett vetenskapligt dokument skulle bli inkluderat i litteraturstudien skulle fokus ligga på och beröra fysisk aktivitet och lärande, alternativt fysisk aktivitet och kognitiv utveckling. Eftersom fokus ligger på fysisk aktivitet inom skolan har de även valt att beskriva hur idrottsundervisningen i skolan har utvecklats sedan införandet.

A destination is marketed as a process where the consumption takes place at the same time as the production. Destination marketing organizations, DMO?s, are responsible for the marketing of a destination. Since destinations consist of several parts such as the train trip to the destination, restaurant visits, shopping, hotel stays etc., it is difficult for the DMO?s to fully control how a tourist perceive the destination.

The report aims to examine how property owners position themselves to reach their targetmarket, and which strategies they use when positioning their product. The investigation has beencarried out mainly in the form of a case study in which a number of interviews with Stockholmreal estate companies has been conducted, focusing on commercial property market segment.The interviews have resulted in identification of common and specific strategies among thecompanies. These strategies have been analyzed in the light of the theory by Philip Kotler andKevin Lane Keller, focusing on how an offer should be designed to reach a competitive position.It can be concluded that positioning is a key Activity for successfully addressing the targetmarket. Successful positioning mandates three key requirements to be met; determining thecategory to which the offer belongs, identifying similarities and differences compared to thecompetitors and developing a brand mantra. The result of the case study concludes that theproperty companies work similar in many ways.

The aim of this study is to understand how the library environment affects the experiences and feelings of public library users. In order to concretise this, the study sets out from the public library in Bollebygd. We wanted to find out how the library users experience the library environment. Does the library environment affect the meeting between library users? How does the environment affect their moving patterns inside the library? Which environmental factors influence the users' experiences? Our questions were: how do users experience the library environment - as a mediating space for information and culture? - as a social room and meeting place? The material used to attain the purpose of the study consists of qualitative observations and interviews, and literature studies.

När en kommersiell hamn byggs ut fordras omfattande muddringsarbete för att säkerställa ett brukligt djup för sjöfart. Då stora delar av muddermassorna ofta är förorenade av tungmetaller och miljögifter krävs särskilt omhändertagande av dessa. Traditionella omhändertagningsalternativ består av att deponera massorna på särskild avsedd plats på land eller tippa till havs, något som inte tillåts för förorenade sediment. En relativt ny metod är stabilisering/solidifiering (S/S) som innebär att muddermassorna behandlas med ett bindemedel för att sedan kunna användas som fyllnadsmaterial i exempelvis kajkonstruktioner. Dessa alternativ behöver noga vägas mot varandra med hänsyn till ekonomiska och miljömässiga aspekter.

This study is based on the child welfare agency and social welfare board definition in Växjö City about the people who were defined as feebleminded and which solution they choose for this ?social problem?, with focus if they used sterilization as a solution to this ?problem? during the years 1934-1941. The individuals who were regarded as feebleminded were alcoholics, unemployed, people who were feeble in their mind, people who had mental diseases, people who were vagrants and poor people. According to earlier research these people were categorized in a subclass and their behavior were not regarded as ordinary like a human who had a healthy mind, according to that period believes.The boards in Växjö defined the feebleminded people with mentally deficient minds, mental retardation, poverty and in some cases disturbed self-Activity. However the most common definition of the feebleminded was mentally deficient minds and mental retardation.

The study investigated pensioners? forming of identity during the ageing process and the correlation between norms and identity. Previous research has shown that there are norms and notions about elderly and what growing old well implies. There is missing research on the level of the individual with norms, ageing and the process of identity formation. There is a large population of pensioners in Sweden and the authors behind this study wish that the results of it will help study counsellors to approach pensioners? in a norm critic way.

The purpose of this study was to describe how women with fibromyalgia experienced their quality of life. The method used was a literature study with a descriptive design. The search for scientific articles was done by the databases Academic Search Elite, CINAHL, Medline via PubMed and Cohrane Library. The articles were quality-tested and the content studied, resulting in four categories as follows. Research involving the physical aspects of the quality of life showed that sleeplessness, tiredness and pain was commonly occurring symptoms in women?s daily life which affected their life-situation.

Pyometra, chronic purulent metritis in metoestrus, is a common disease in intact bitches. About 25% of all bitches in Sweden have contracted the disease before ten years of age. Clinical signs of the disease are varied, and the course may be either slow or acute. The diagnosis is most commonly made by radiographical or ultrasonographical examination of the abdomen in combination with blood biochemical and hematological analyses. The safest and most efficient treatment of pyometra is surgical ovariohysterectomy.There is room for improvement of both diagnostic tools and possible prognostic indicators for pyometra.Mast cells are large leucocytes, with granule that contain inflammatory mediators.

Afterthe documentary film ?An Inconvenient Thruth? presented by Al Gore was released in 2006,most of the world saw a lot of attention directed towards global warming. This was a turningpoint that is refered to in this dissertation an history-graded critical event, which is assumed tohave a significant impact on peoples lives.The purpose of this dissertation is to examine whether or not political parties in Swedenresponded to this critical event in the way that they, in their party programmes, haveformulated policies related to climate change. Alternatively if media produces an image ofpolitical Activity which does not comport with the forming of actual political standpoints.

Syfte: Syftet med denna systematiska litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur djur påverkade livskvalitet hos äldre. Metod: Artikelsökning utfördes via databaserna; CINAHL, SCOPUS och sökmotorn ELIN. För att artiklarna skulle få vara med i studien var kravet att de skulle vara publicerade mellan åren 2000 - 2010 och skrivna på engelska eller svenska. Sammanlagt ligger 14 vetenskapliga artiklar till grund för resultatet i denna systematiska litteraturstudie. Huvudresultat: Flertalet studier visade att Animal Assisted Activity (AAA) och Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT) främjade sociala interaktioner mellan äldre individer, lindrade känslor av ensamhet samt hade positiv effekt vid depression.
