I detta examensarbete har jag undersökt förmågan hos nautiker att ta fram och tillgodogöra sig information från radar och ARPA för sitt beslutsunderlag i trafiksituationer. Syftet var att få förståelse i om fartygsbefäl haft svårigheter att få fram denna mycket relevanta information. Detta gjordes med hjälp av förstudier i form av intervjuer med erfarna fartygsbefäl. Dessa intervjuer gav kriterier som möjliggjorde analyseringen av 13 olycksfallsrapporter, vilket utgjorde litteraturstudien. Dessa rapporter var författade av engelska Department of Transport, Marine Investigation Branch(MAIB), Statenshaverikommission(SHK) och  Sjöfartsverkets rapportserie(SjöfR).

Traditionally, it has been argued that companies are only responsible towards their shareholders, to maximize the profits. But lately it has changed into another way of responsibilty. It has become of great importance to demonstrate sustainable long-term values for stakeholders to identify with. This thesis aims to clarify the banks? definition of responsible investment and what criteria they assume when talking about such kind of investments.

Denna undersökning har tilldelats från Peab Anläggning i Uppsala. Peabs intresse är att undersöka hanteringen av oönskade jordmassor för att kunna minska den ekonomiska och miljömässiga belastningen. Förutsättningarna för att lyckas undersöka detta har skett med hjälp av intervjuer med anställda på Peab, samt genom läsning av det undersökta projektets förfrågningsunderlag. Det givna projektet som studerades är en vatten- och tryckspillvattenledning i Uppsalaområdet.De faktorer som står i fokus för undersökningen är den ekonomiska och miljömässiga faktorn. Dessa punkter har undersökts med hjälp av en kontroll av arbetstider och hanteringsmetoder som undersökts.

This essay is a comparison according to the ideological thoughts about womens position in the society of Mao Zedong och Josef Stalin. The material I have analysed is writings by Mao and Stalin, in a wide range from leaflets to orders to the armies of the states of China and the Soviet Union. The method I have used is an ideological analysis where the attitude towards women is the target for my survey. The attitude towards women generally was not unified in the world during the time for Mao and Stalin. In many countries the women was intended to take care of the children and the home, not be active in working and fighting.

Physical activity is required for a good health and science shows a clear connection between exercise and a lower risk for disease. Still, the physical activity among the population is far from good. It is the individuals own responsibility to exercise, but the society also has a responsibility to give opportunities to exercise for the population. The aim with the study was to investigate what motivated the group of physical active people to use the Central hospital in Kristianstad?s health program.

Today?s wind power plants are only compensated for their reactive power consumption at no-load. As the wind power plants grow bigger the amount of reactive power they need also increases. This is no longer a problem that can be ignored, especially as the net owners are beginning to charge the reactive power they transport.In this thesis a couple of different methods of compensation and their prices will be discussed and evaluated. Problems, such as self-excitation, that can occur if one fully compensates the wind power plant will also be brought to surface.

As a soccer coach for youths with disabilities and as active soccer players, our thoughts regarding the basic principles of sports where awakened and how it corresponds with the possibilities of disabled youths participating in club organized sports. From that thought came the idea that, with our team as the point of original we should contribute with increased knowledge regarding the experiences of disabled youths doing sports. Using ethnography and co-operative observations we have researched both including and excluding factors that contribute to the possibilities of disabled youths opportunity to do sports. We have been able to distinguish that the youths in question feel that sports can be identity-building as well as give a sense of community. The study shows that the basic principles of sports does not correspond with reality because the lack of availability is the determinant factor. .

It is often challenging to create a new enrichment program for any animal. This is especially true with the additional challenge that I wanted to use only naturalistic enrichment, and I?m working with animals some of which are nocturnal. Even with a many hurdles, a little bit of enrichment can do a big difference and make a big difference in activity levels of the animals. Eskilstuna parkens zoo have a house called the MUSeum housing four kinds of rodents.

The aim of this essay is to describe the historical development of the intercultural teacher training program at Södertörn University in Stockholm. I have also examined how the intercultural teacher training program was started, how and why it became intercultural and how the people in charge of the development of the teacher training program discussed intercultural science. The teacher training program has been an active part of Södertörn University since 1998, but it became intercultural in 2002. I have studied these questions through documents from the Södertörn University archives and literature by the funders of the education. The study shows that the university profile, ambitions and motives have been a key factor in the decision to make the teacher training program at Södertörn a multi-cultural one..

The purpose of this essay is to understand and analyze why people read a local newspaper and which needs it can fulfill. The newspaper indistry is changing and so is the way we consume news. Today the readers are seen as an active group of people who choose the media, which fulfills their needs in the best possible way. This essay is based on a case study of the local newspaper Barometern. We used a qualitative research method and have done eight interviews.

Corporate Social Responsibility (?CSR?), även på svenska kallad företagens samhällsansvar, har under de senaste åren fått en allt mer betydelsefull roll i företag. Det är av intresse att studera hur olika företag ser på och använder sig av CSR, då CSR står för hur ett företag tar sitt ansvar jämtemot sina intressenter. Detta ansvar kan vara socialt lika väl som miljömässigt. Syftet med denna rapport var att analysera och undersöka vilken påverkan Sony Mobile Communications CSR initiativ GreenHeartTM hade på koldioxidutsläppen i en livscykel av deras produkter.

This project examined the possibility to create an electronical aid with the purpose of increasing environmental awareness and to design the aid in a fashion that inspires other to develop similar applications. The impact of car traffic was examined, and the base of the aid was built up in modular form to simplify the hardware aspect. For the active, data processing part of the aid the Arduino platform was chosen because of its simplicity and big possibilities of help in different internet fora, for those who choose to create similar applications in the future. The main part of the project var the use of real-time information from the car?s on board diagnostics.

Föreliggande rapport syftar till att utreda om det är ekonomiskt möjligt och miljömässigt intressant att införa ett retursystem för lastbärare till arkade produkter hos MoDo Paper Silverdalen. Bakgrunden är att MoDo Paper Silverdalen vill minska skadefrekvensen och öka staplingsbarheten under transport, genom att införa ett returemballage. Ett retursystem skulle också gynna företagets miljöframtoning.Genom studiebesök och intervjuer på Silverdalsbruket, hos grossister och tryckerier har vi funnit att skadefrekvensen för Silverdalsbrukets produkter är låg och inte uppfattas som något allvarligt problem i något av dessa led.De vanligaste skadorna är:? Ett mindre antal skadade ark i stapelns topp och botten, beroende på frakt och emballeringsmetod.? Små hål i krympfilmen, orsakade av omild hantering.? En eller flera av pallens medar har lossnat eller vikt sig under palldäcket, vilket medför ökade hanteringskostnader.? Förskjuten eller havererad arkstapel, p.g.a. problem med pallens medar eller att godset utsatts för en kraftig stöt, som orsakar ökade hanteringskostnader eller kassation.Skadeeffekterna kan ofta minskas genom omstapling eller genom att skära ner arken i storlek.

SSAB Tunnplåt AB i Borlänge arbetar aktivt med att förebygga olyckor och som en del i detta arbete utförs riskinventeringar och riskanalyser över företagets olika processer. Denna rapport syftar till att identifiera risker som uppkommer i samband med transport och lossning av saltsyra inom SSAB Tunnplåt AB´s område. Förslag till säkerhetshöjande åtgärder för de risker som är utmärkande ska även tas fram. Saltsyrahanteringen inom SSAB Tunnplåt AB i Borlänge har studerats och möjliga skadehändelser har identifierats. Sannolikhets- och konsekvensbedömningar för dessa har skattats, varefter en riskbedömning har presenterats i form av en riskmatris.
