AbstractThe struggle for land has been an issue ever since Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese Crown. The deep social inequalities that the country faces were raised then. More than 45% of the agricultural land is controlled by only 1% of the landowners. There have been many movements since then, who has fought for agrarian reforms.MST, the largest social movement in Brazil, was born in the 1980s. They managed to mobilize the peasants and the poor people.

Ship formed monuments from the Late Bronze Age on the island of O?land, southeast Sweden, have never been thoroughly dealt with in previous research, despite the fact that the region is suggested to have had a key-role in maritime trade networks. This thesis aims to address the ship formed monuments on O?land in relationship to the monuments in northern Sma?land and the island of Gotland. My goal is to discuss how the ship symbolism was practised during the Late Bronze Age in Scandinavia from a new perspective.

The purpose of this study was to increase the level of knowledge in the field of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for wind power. The study includes six wind power farms in the County of Västerbotten in northern Sweden. The main questions were: What are the real dimensions of roadways and land claims for both roads and wind power turbines? How do those dimensions correlate with the dimensions stated in the EIA? Are there any differences in values of the dimensions between the wind power farms that are included in this study? The width of the roadways and the land claims for both roads and wind turbines in wind power farms were examined on site. The results from the examinations were compared with the dimensions available in the EIA for each wind power farm.

On commission of the County administrative board in Värmland County a method was developed for analysis of the occurrence of artificial land use at lakes and watercourses. With artificial land use is meant land significantly affected by man. Two bases have been used to carry out the analysis. In one of the analysis the vegetation database and in the other GSD¹-Marktäckedata (land cover data) was used (this method has been used by County administrative board in Jönköping County).The analysis comprises all watercourses within Alsterälven river basin. The digital water bodies are created by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute on the basis of GSD-Översiktskartan (general map).

Andelen utrikes födda utgör en allt större del av Sveriges befolkning. Många av dem kommer från länder utanför EU/EES, dvs. tredje land, och har en akademisk utbildning från sitt hemland. Det har visat sig problematiskt för dessa människor att etablera sig på den svenska arbetsmarknaden i linje med deras utbildning och problematiken är särskilt utmärkande inom reglerade yrkesgrupper. Uppsatsen jämför förhållandet mellan stad och land i Kungsgatan med förhållandet mellan hemland och nytt land i Utlänningar. Socialpsykologiska perspektiv på främlingskap, identitet och acklimatisering i kombination med litteraturteoretiska begrepp från postkolonial litteraturteori används för att undersöka hur romanerna fiktivt gestaltar uppbrotts- och acklimatiseringsprocesser. Analysen indelas i förhållandet mellan stad/land och hemland/nytt land, kvinnans dubbla främlingskap, språkets inverkan på identiteten samt individens förmåga eller oförmåga att anpassa sig till en ny miljö. Det skildrade främlingskapets anknytning till en ny dubbel identitet analyseras för att tolka karaktärernas hantering av främlingskapet.

This is a bachelor thesis about arable land in Varberg, from sustainability and it?s relation to local government and management. Arable land has become more important as a natural resource from a global point of view and in concerns of higher demands of food supply, as a result of population growth, higher consumption worldwide and climate change. But the arable land in Sweden is being exploited an increasingly rapid pace and the arable land in Varberg is not an exception of this development. The issue is most topical and the discussion holds questions about a declining agricultural sector, the formal and administrative protection of arable land and because other interests of land use often is given higher priority in community development and planning.
