Intresset av att studera Finland har sin grund i det senaste decenniets PISAresultat. Finland har nått toppresultat i samtliga tre kunskapsområdenmatematik, naturkunskap och läsförståelse hos 15-°©??åriga elever. Jag villeundersöka hur lärare i Sverige och Sverige uppfattar sin undervisning,eftersom barns första kontakter med skriftspråket och den inledandeläsinlärningen spelar stor roll för hur barnens läsning kommer att utvecklasunder skoltiden. Jag använde mig av två enkäter när jag undersökte hur femsvenska och fem finlandssvenska lärare uppfattar att de arbetat med läs-??? ochskrivutveckling under elevernas första skolår.

The purpose of this study was to increase the level of knowledge in the field of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for wind power. The study includes six wind power farms in the County of Västerbotten in northern Sweden. The main questions were: What are the real dimensions of roadways and land claims for both roads and wind power turbines? How do those dimensions correlate with the dimensions stated in the EIA? Are there any differences in values of the dimensions between the wind power farms that are included in this study? The width of the roadways and the land claims for both roads and wind turbines in wind power farms were examined on site. The results from the examinations were compared with the dimensions available in the EIA for each wind power farm.

Rental rates and land prices have gone through substantial changes the last two decades. The prices have both gone up and down since 1990 but from 1995 to 2008 land prices increased with 272 percent and rental rates with 61 percent. What factors that have the largest impact on rental rates and land prices are hard to determine but factors that may affect the price are the desire to live in the countryside and the expected profitability in agriculture. Prices of products and inputs are factors that affect the profitability in agriculture, but the profitability is also affected by agricultural policies. The economic for Swedish agriculture have changed several times over the last 20 years as a result of changing agricultural policies.The agricultural policies largely affect farmers behavior and decisions.

Wind and wind damage has become a hot subject because of the storm ?Gudrun? in January 2005. The main purpose of this study was to establish how the land owners attitude toward preventive wind damage actions was changing immediately after they had been struck by a storm. The result of the study was built on interviews. In springtime 2005 a total number of 20 private land owners were interviewed. Ten of the landowners lived in the province of Småland and ten in the province of Värmland.

Uppstatsens huvudsyfte är att försöka finna tänkbara förklaringar till varför grundskoleelever i Finland presterar bättre i internationella kunskapsmätningar än svenska elever. Genom en jämförande fallstudie, av typen mest lika design, där alternativa förklaringar utesluts genom att de förekommer i båda utbildningssystemen isoleras effekten av den avsedda förklaringsvariabeln. Förutsättningarna för ledarskapet på olika nivåer inom utbildningssystemen utgör variabeln som avser förklara resultatskillnaden mellan Sverige och Finland i internationella kunskapsmätningar. Ledarskapet delas upp i kategorierna förvaltningsmodell, utvärdering, decentralisering och professionen. Varje kategori operationaliseras och undersöks separat inom båda utbildningssystemen.

Declining union memberships are a fact in both Sweden and Finland. At the same time, the autonomous labour market parties and the high membership rates are the most significant factors for the two countries compared to Europe and the rest of the world. These two factors have in turn been developed and strengthened since the beginning of the twentieth century. By autonomous labour market parties I refer to the fact that the labour market parties themselves through collective bargaining are agreeing on the labour market conditions, without interference from the government.This paper is therefore taking it's stance in the question of what happens with the autonomous labour market parties when the membership rates are in decline. With this in mind, this paper describes the judicial development, the collective agreement and labour market structures, the legal consequences of collective agreements and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action in both Sweden and Finland. The two countries' systems of labour law have caught some negative attention, hence two of the most discussed cases of recent years are given some attention as well. The collective judicial conditions are very similar in both Sweden and Finland regarding the labour market main actors' collaboration, the collective agreement structures and legal consequences and the opportunities of industrial and sympathy action.

AbstractThe struggle for land has been an issue ever since Brazil was colonized by the Portuguese Crown. The deep social inequalities that the country faces were raised then. More than 45% of the agricultural land is controlled by only 1% of the landowners. There have been many movements since then, who has fought for agrarian reforms.MST, the largest social movement in Brazil, was born in the 1980s. They managed to mobilize the peasants and the poor people.

Ship formed monuments from the Late Bronze Age on the island of O?land, southeast Sweden, have never been thoroughly dealt with in previous research, despite the fact that the region is suggested to have had a key-role in maritime trade networks. This thesis aims to address the ship formed monuments on O?land in relationship to the monuments in northern Sma?land and the island of Gotland. My goal is to discuss how the ship symbolism was practised during the Late Bronze Age in Scandinavia from a new perspective.

Varje företag behöver ta ställning till val av kapitalstruktur där olika finansieringsmöjligheter finns att tillgå. Det förekommer flertalet faktorer som kan påverka företagets skuldsättningsgrad vilket kan skilja sig åt mellan olika länder. Valet av kapitalstruktur har sedan länge varit ett omdebatterat ämne där resultaten förändras över tid och är beroende av vald metod samt urval. Denna studie kommer att studera de företagsekonomiska faktorerna lönsamhet, tillväxt, företagsstorlek och tillgångsstruktur vilka är de mest frekvent använda variablerna för att studera förhållandet till ett företags belåningsgrad. Kapitalstruktur kan förklaras utifrån flera teorier som delvis motsäger varandra vilket leder till att vi kommer utgå från teorin av Modigliani och Miller, pecking order-teorin, trade-off teorin samt agentteorin för att förklara variablernas effekt på skuldsättningsgraden.
