The aim of this master's thesis is to describe the management of free Internet Resources in three Swedish research libraries. With the starting point in the increased quantity and importance of these Resources, together with reflections on the change of the concept of collection, the thesis shows how and to what extent these freely accessible Internet Resources are being integrated in the day-to-day work with collection development. It also elucidates the problems with the free Internet Resources from the research libraries points of view. The study is based upon analyses of collection management literature and qualitative interviews with librarians at the chosen libraries. The thesis shows that the research libraries still have not come very far in their work of integrating the free Internet Resources in their collections.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine the information needs of reporters at a Swedish daily newspaper, and see if they are met by the information Resources provided by the newspaper. It examines if there are Resources which are not used and why. The examination is based on Henczel?s model for information auditing.

During the later part of the 20th century the amount of children and adolescents in Sweden who reported psychosomatic illness have greatly increased. The main reason is estimated to relate to weak Resources in school and school healthcare. Increased Resources do not always have to encompass investments for school and school healthcare. Other Resources play an important part as well. A child?s domestic situation serves as one of those Resources where fundamental knowledge and values are set.

The aim of this essay has been to increase the knowledge of which Resources there are in compulsory school, their function and how they are experienced by teachers and students. By individual interviews I have examined teachers experiences of their work with students in need of support in core subjects. I have also examined how students experiences the help that they get and if they want to change anything. In my essay I have concentrated in a few main questions, such as; which Resources compulsory school uses, teachers work with students in needs of support in core subjects, the extension of students needs, how students experience the help that they get, how they feel about education in smaller groups and if there are any differences in needs, among students, connected to gender. Literature has earlier shown that there are too few Resources in compulsory school and that students in need of support doesn?t get the help that they need.

This study aims to find coping Resources in two different paradigms of pastoral care using coping theory from the psychology of religion. The intention is to find coping Resources that are functional coping strategies to help priests and chaplains in their work with pastoral care. The research questions are: What coping Resources can be found in the pastoral clinical paradigm and the contextual paradigm? What are the differences and similarities? The method used is template analysis style where the theories form a framework for the material used to analyse in this study. The theories used for this study are religious coping theory and pastoral care theory.

The main objective of this thesis is to examine the situation concerning information technology, computers and information Resources for university students at a selection of universities, and their libraries, in Sweden. Another objective is to compare this situation to what is stated in policy documents on the subject, and if the size of the university matters regarding Resources. The thesis starts with a discussion of several authors, Frank Webster, Paul F. Burton and Lars Qvortrup among others, and their views on the information society. These range from whether we are living in it, are in a transition period or are still in the Industrial Society.

This study examines the organization of the village society in Benestad, in southern Sweden, during the period from 1886 to 1928. The study focuses on the commonly owned Resources in the village and how the landowners there came together and shared the Resources. By studying the records of the societies? meetings, and in particular the cases that concerns the common Resources, a categorization has been done. The results of the study show that the landowners in Benestad shared pasture lands, milk carriage and other Resources with one another. Overall, the village society had a strong organization with at least two yearly meetings about the commonly owned Resources.

The aim of this masters thesis is to study the reliability of the URL as the link between a bibliographic record and a web resource. The Swedish catalogue services LIBRIS and NetSök have been evaluated on three different occasions, to study how these services have succeeded in giving access to web Resources by using URLs. Because URLs are changeable, we have tried to find out common characteristics of the URLs in broken links. To accomplish this study we have used a quantitative approach and evaluated five percent of the web Resources in the catalogues using a random selection. We have also used documentation relevant for our study, among other things to illustrate previous studies of the nature of web Resources and alternative solutions to URLs as access points to web Resources.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate how a public library should sign and organize their Resources to make them as accessible as possible to the users of the library. Our theory, Paul Arthur?s and Romedi Passini?s wayfinding theory, is about how people search through information loaded environments. Our empirical material consists mainly of three parts: an inventory of the Resources and guiding at Hammarö bibliotek, eight interviews with visitors at Hammarö bibliotek and observations of how visitors use and interact with the library, its Resources and guiding.

This thesis discusses the global regime complex concerning the management of plant genetic Resources for food and agriculture, and how different regimes concerning these Resources cooperate or stand in opposition to each other. Because of changes in US patent law and the establishment of TRIPS, patent claims over plant genetic Resources has increased dramatically globally. This, amongst other things, in turn has lead to the development of CBD which in turn lead to the creation of access and benefit laws in many countries. To create a free flow of genetic Resources for food and agriculture the ITPGRFA, with its multilateral system, were negotiated. The aim of this thesis is to investigate which consequences the regime complex concerning plant genetic Resources for food and agriculture can have on the rights of small farmers, agricultural research and food security in the global South.

The EU-funded project European Cultural Heritage Online (ECHO) aims to integrateResources from various domains within the field of cultural heritage, and make them availableon the Internet. To accomplish this integration it is necessary to describe the various Resourcesin a way that will achieve cross-domain interoperability. This description of digital Resourcesis commonly referred to as metadata. The most well known and used metadata standard is theDublin Core Metadata Element Set, a general standard developed for the purpose ofdescribing all types of digital Resources. Since the mid-1990's a large number of specializedstandards have emerged in different communities, for example IMDI, designed for detaileddescription of language Resources.This thesis aims to examine the possibility of combining a general and a specialized metadatastandard to achieve cross-domain interoperability and at the same time provide a sufficientlydetailed description of language Resources for researchers within the field of linguistics.

This thesis analyses the 2005 UK presidency of the Council, and more particularly the negotiations on the future financing of the European Union. The purpose of the study is to discuss whether the holding of the presidency implies political influence for the member state. To analyse the power of the country holding the chair the thesis focuses on the presidency functions of brokering and leadership. The theory suggests that the influence of the presidency is derived from informational and procedural power Resources, as well as some leadership Resources, such as coercion and reward. A case study was used to analyse whether these power Resources were used by the British presidency.

As more and more book publishers are starting up in Sweden, despite of tough competition, this thesis aims to understand the necessary Resources required by new publishing houses in order to create a long-term role on the national publishing market. This is a market characterized by a high level of cultural interests, where success is not always measured in economic profit. Four new publishing houses have been chosen, whose start-up phases and entry processes are described in order to determine what factors have been essential in creating a role. In addition, relevant actors such as other publishers, distributors, and retailers have been interviewed with the purpose of acquiring the complete picture of how the new publishers? can create a role within the industry.

In the care for the critically ill patient the next of kin is of great importance. Their support, love and care for the patient, increases the wellbeing and makes a connection to the patient?s normal lifeworld. For the next of kin to be able to be that support the next of kin needs to be helped to maintain the basic need of for example their sleep, food, hygiene and psychosocial support. The critical care nurse must see to the patient?s whole lifeworld which includes their next of kin.The aim of the study was to identify the Resources available for the next of kin in intensive care units in Sweden.
