Vad kostar deltid? Kvinnors deltidsarbete ur ett pensionsperspektiv

Mothers of small children often work part-time in Sweden. Since old age pensions are based on lifetime income, part-time work leads to lower Pensions, as long as there is no compensation from non-actuarial benefits such as minimum pensions. In this paper, I investigate whether different components of the Swedish pension system provide incentives for part-time work among women. The analysis is performed through a simulation of future pensions for 9 typical women in a certain cohort. For three levels of education, I compare pensions of women with different labor market participation rates in different growth scenarios.

Den norska pensionsreformen 2005. En studie av en välfärdsreforms tillkomst ur tre maktperspektiv.

The aim of this thesis is to spread some light over the coming into being of the 2005 Pension Reform in Norway. The point of departure lies within an interest in Welfare State politics and the development in this field. Pensions constitute a cornerstone in the Welfare State. Making use of J. Kingdon´s Theory of the Agenda Setting Process, Discourse Theory and Institutional Theory the thesis seek to visualize the implications of structures, central actors and discourses on the reform processes.

We also want to give an understanding of what factors may be responsible for the outcome that it may be helpful in future financial crises. Method: A qualitative study was the basis for the study, where three interviews were carried out by the respondents from Nordea Life and Pension.  Theory: In this section we have focused on relevant theory and has divided them into different themes, advice, current legislation, marketing, consumption and buying behavior. Conclusion: The study shows that Nordea Life and Pension had a positive growth during the financial crisis and a number of factors are presented that may be the basis for the outcome.Proposal for further research: Since this study was limited to one company it may be intresting to investigate and examine the consuling industry market as a whole affected by the financial crisis. Contributions: This paper has provided an understanding of how Nordea Life and Pensions affected during a financial crisis, based on market share and the factors that may have been the basis for this..

Norge - finansieringen av den åldrande befolkningen

As most developed countries Norway has an ageing population meaning that the number of pensioners is predicted to grow rapidly over the coming years. As a consequence the Norwegian pension system will not be able to provide for these future pensioners. Meanwhile, a rising number of early retirees and disability pension claimants is diminishing the real retirement age. Also the individual pension amount is growing while the pension system itself reaches maturity. In short, major reforms are needed in the Norwegian pension system.

Implementeringen av IAS 19 - En studie av borttagandet av korridormetoden och dess implementering av nya IAS 19 samt dess påverkan på ekonomistyrningen

Abstract: Since the implementation of IFRS, many changes in accounting standards have occured. Companies that follow IFRS must therefore always adapt and change its accountingprinciples according to changes made by IFRS. The latest change that companies must consider and adapt to in their financial accounting is the revised version of IAS 19 regarding pensions. This study aims to investigate if there is a relationship between financial accounting and management accounting due to changes made by IASB. More specifically the study investgates how the removal of the corridormethod and the introduction of IAS 19 as an external approach has affected its management accounting in three large corporations in Sweden.

Den åldrande befolkningens hot mot välfärden - En politisk myt i väst

The purpose of this thesis is to expose the political myth in the West about the ageing population seen as a threat against the welfare society. To do so I have described what a political myth is, and showed how it is presented in the most influential newspapers and organisations in the West. I have also presented alternative perspectives to the dominating view on the ageing population and it's impacts on welfare. In this way I have tried to point out that the subject has a political dimension. In the thesis last section I compare the message presented in the newspapers and the organisations with the characteristics of a political myth.

Förtroendeproblematik för privata pensionsförsäkringar i Ryssland

The first aim of the thesis is to analyse the problems of trust, according to game theory, in the Russian market for private pensions insurance. The second aim is to find suitable strategies to solve the problems. Problems of trust have arisen because, (i) buyers of insurance have had negative experiences when dealing with insurance companies and corruption has decreased trust for all players in the market, (ii) incomplete information makes it difficult to separate honest actors from dishonest, and (iii) dishonest insurance companies do not get punished because of corruption and weaknesses in the law. Mutual risk-sharing is a potential solution as necessary conditions already exist in the Russian society. There are groups who (i) share the same type of risks, (ii) are aware of moral hazards, and (iii) are able to control each other.

Contemporary Challenges of Public Pension Systems and Their Effects on Pension Reform Choices in European and Candidate countries

The process of European Integration and creation of the single market revealed many questions and boundaries on the development and improvement of the European Social Policy. Pension?s sustainability has become the priority issue especially during the EU enlargement processes. Different policy instruments and institutions available to governments of Member States in realization of social objectives resulted in a growing diversity of pension polices which produced different combinations of public and private provisions - ?private-public hybrids? , with the state exercising different degrees of influence in their development.

Premiepensionens Marknadsrisk : En Monte Carlo-simulering av den allmänna pensionen

A reforming trend is captured showing that countries are shifting from defined benefit pension systems towards defined contribution systems. The reforms have been justified through predictions that the defined benefit systems will not manage to provide good enough pensions to members in the future. The newer defined contribution pension plans often include individual financial accounts where individuals have the possibility to choose how a part of their pension savings should be invested. Sweden was early to introduce such a system, which at the moment provides more than 800 funds to choose from. The aim of this thesis is to capture the market risk associated with these individual investments and does so by using Monte Carlo simulations for six selected pension funds.

Legislative framework from the EU is favourable and the Commission has set as one of it goals to promote the migration. Globalisation trends and contemporary business concepts need people who are mobile on the other hand. But migration numbers are still low within Europe. The purpose of this thesis is to find out how much the legal uncertainties, and the different culture mentality in the workplace of another country act as barriers in the minds of the people who wish to work abroad.

Att välja eller att välja att inte välja- det är frågan? : En studie om premiepensionssystemet i Sverige ur ett individperspektiv

Pensionssystemet berör samtliga pensionssparare i Sverige som statliga Pensions-myndigeten ansvarar för. En reform av pensionssystemet introducerades år 1999 och togs i bruk år 2000 som innebar att individen fick ökat ansvar genom att 2,5 procent av den allmänna pensionen, benämnd premiepensionen, kunde fritt placeras i öns-kade fonder inom premiepensionssystemet. Ansvaret som i och med detta vilar på individen gör att beslut om framtida ekonomiska ersättningar måste fattas oavsett om kunskap och vilja föreligger eller ej. Då systemet kan uppfattas som omfattande och kunskaper om finansiella placeringar inte kan antas vara självklara för gemene man, kan det innebära stress och osäkerhet för spararen.En diskussion som uppmärksammats är huruvida pensionsspararna får kompensation i form av avkastning för avgifterna som fondbolagen tar ut i samband med förvalt-ning av fonderna. Förvalsalternativet, AP7 Aktiefond, placerar enligt ett världsmark-nadsindex och har i förhållande till de populäraste fonderna den lägsta avgiften.

Brister i användbarheten på en Internetbank

Inom bankbranschen har IT blivit ett betydelsefullt verktyg för att uppnå en ökad kvalitet på service och tjänster. För att företag ska kunna skapa en konkurrensfördel gentemot andra företag inom samma bransch, krävs det en förståelse för vilka problem som finns idag och som leder till försämrad användbarhet. Syftet med denna studie är att identifiera de brister som är väsentliga ur ett användbarhetsperspektiv för en Internetbank, samt identifiera enskilda funktioner som fungerar sämre ur en användbarhetssynpunkt. Med hjälp av teoretiska ramar har vi genomfört en kvantitativ enkätundersökning på Swedbanks Telefon- och Internetbank. Resultaten av denna enkätundersökning har pekat på de brister som användarna upplever på Internetbanken.

Background to problem: Pensions play a big role in people's lives when life expectancy continues to increase. Companies can choose different ways of reporting their pension plans, and within the defined benefit pension plan poses the actuarial gains and losses that can be reported based on three different methods. Only one method will exist from 2013, how will the companies that use the other two handle the new situation?Purpose: Investigate why different companies have chosen to report its actuarial gains and losses along the corridor approach, directly against income or directly in equity. How will the companies that use the corridor method manage the situation when it will only be allowed to report in other comprehensive income as of 2013 and how will this affect them.Methodology: Data was collected through qualitative questionnaires sent to companies listed on Nasdaq OMX Nordic Stockholm, Large Cap and Mid Cap, and a qualitative interview.

Ungas attityd till privat pensionssparande : Attitudes to private pensions svaings among young people

Affärssystem är ett relativt nytt och outforskat ämne. Därför tyckte vi att det verkade intressant att ta reda på lite mer om ämnet. Affärssystem är standardiserade verksamhetsövergripande systemstöd och en integrerad del av företaget. Vi valde att fokusera oss på upphandlings- och implementeringsprocessen av ett affärssystem på grund av att det är den avgörande fasen för ett affärssystems vara eller icke vara.I vår uppsats har vi valt att undersöka hur upphandlings- och implementeringsprocessen på Stora Enso sett ut. De har under årets början (2007) infört ett nytt affärssystem (SAP/R3) i sin verksamhet.

En jämförelsestudie av AP-fonderna och bankernas Sverigefonder 2003-2010

Background: In 1999 the Swedish pension system was reformed with an aim to create a stable and high return on pension assets. First, Second, Third and Fourth general pension funds, hereby referred to as AP1-AP4, had an important part in the reform. AP1-AP4, also called the buffer funds, was assigned to secure long-term, big parts of the pension capital. The funds objective is by law, to manage the fund's assets in a manner that provides maximum benefit for the state pension. The funds will also invest pension assets with an overall low level of risk while achieving a sustainable high return.Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the First-Fourth AP-Funds is meeting its objectives regarding risk and return according to Swedish law.
