Utveckling av mobilapplikation för lutfrenare i möbel
During the year 2014, Artex AB has worked to launch a new product whose function is to locally purify the air. The product is a headboard and its purpose is to give the user clean air while sleeping. The air purifier has different speeds and it`s up to the user to choose which effect that will be on. To get the best experience of the product as possible, the air purifier shall be controlled by a mobile application. In that way the user can increase and decrease the fan speed, even when the user not is home. The authors´ task in this project has been to develop the mobile application.Prior to the work the authors asked themselves how to maximize the usability in the app and made up these short questions. What function shall the app have? What design shall the app have? And which information shall the user get from the indoor and outdoor air quality in the app? To answer this questions the authors conducted three market analyzes. Two of them involved telephone interviews and email contact with app developers and sensor companies. This contributed to knowledge about how the app should be designed and what factors that are possible and necessary to show in the app. The third analysis contained a competitor analysis. In total, 82 apps were analyzed in the category: weather and control of units. Furthermore the authors analyzed 40 apps from the top list of Google Play and 38 apps from App Store´s top list.The development process has been done by industrial design methods and product development tools. When the authors knew which qualification the app should have, and got a wide overview of app designs they started hand sketch. The sketches was thereafter changed and rebuilt to overall concepts that finally was illustrated and refined in Photoshop. After a usability test the authors could make the final changes in the design and function to finalize the complete result.The final result was an app with six different faces. The faces are called; Sign In, Homepage, Headboard, Indoor, Outdoor and Settings. These faces show and help the user to use all the features in the app. In the app, the user can manage the fan speed and see all the readings for Indoor and Outdoor air quality. If there is any questions the user can push the ?help button?, then instructions will appear on how the face works.
