Trycksättning och dimensionering av brandhiss för berganläggning
This thesis deals with the design of a combinated rescue-, personal-, and firefighting elevator for a nuclear waste storage facility to be constructed by the client SKB, Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB. SKB:s mission is to dispose of all nuclear waste from all swedish nuclear power plants. The storage facility will be built in the rock 450 m under the surface and will consist of several kilometers of tunnel where capsules containing the nuclear waste will be placed. It will also hold a central area which contains spaces necessary for the operation and construction of the facility, such as elevator hall, storage hall etc. The facility will have two ways of access: a vehicle ramp and an elevator shaft. These two will also serve as redundant means of escape in case of a fire. The elevator shaft will be pressurized in case of fire, to prevent toxic gases from entering the elevator. At the same time pressurization will also occur in the underground elevator lobby to provide a means of refuge in case of fire. The primary task was to investigate if pressurization of the shaft would be possible and estimate the capacity of the pressurizing fan. This was made through studies, conversations with professors in thermodynamics and calculations with Matlab. Integral to this task was also investigating the so called piston effect of the elevator, which is the fluctuation of pressure in elevator lobbies caused by the movements of the elevator in the shaft. This effect was calculated using different formulas and Matlab. It was not clear from the onset of the project which standards the elevator which operate in this shaft should fulfill or what the requirements were, and therefore studies were made on elevator standards to define a specification of requirements. The elevator will operate in an environment which resembles a mine, and therefore SKB recommended that in deciding the features of the elevator the basis would be a mine shaft elevator, which would be modified if necessary to resemble a normal personal elevator. Based on this two different suggestions were made together with suggestions of manufacturers.
