Slusseneländet

Stockholm is constantly growing and changing. Despite this, for various reasons, it is difficult to execute large building projects. With starting-point in decision making theories we have tried to investigate these difficulties. More specifically we have chosen to study why it has not been possible to rebuilt Slussen in Stockholm. To help us structure our study we have based our research on another large comparable building project, the Globen City project. Our study is therefore a comparative research between the Globen City project and the Slussen project. The first project of these two could be executed in a short time period and also exceeded the expectations whereas the second project has failed to even get in to the start position despite years of undertaking. Some main reasons for this is that Slussen is a historical place and it?s a lot of people involved in the process, the Slussen project is more complex, there has not been any time limit, the ambitions has been low and the proposals for a new Slussen has not been flexible enough. To make it easier for a future reconstruction of Slussen we suggest that the project it self, is made clearer and that the above concerns is taken care of.
