Patienten i "reumateamet"

-en intervjustudie om patientens upplevelse av vårdrelation och delaktighet inom "reumateamet"

To reach health and wellbeing, despite a disease as rheumatoid arthritis, the patient needs help to manage and cope with his situation. The caregiver?s task is to give this support. The aim of this study was to illuminate how patients with rheumatoid arthritis experienced the relationship to the caregivers in the ?rheumatic-team?, and the participation in this team. The aim was also to describe conditions and obstacles that had a special role for the creating of the care-relation and the participation in this care-context. A life-world-phenomenological approach was used. Seven patients have been interviewed about their experience of the relationship and their participation. The result shows that the patients wish that the relationship is natural, friendly and regular. It also shows both existence and lack of participation. A condition for participation and a good care-relation is for example to be seen as a unique individual and that the caregivers treat them calmly, thoughtfully and easy. A straight communication that gives the patients a chance to speak is central. Are these conditions not fulfilled, it will create feelings of frustration and disappointment with the patient. The empiric part has been discussed and explained with the help of the philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas? ethic theory.
