Förekommer det lönediskriminering inom svensk handboll?
AimThe purpose of this dissertation is to find out what discrimination of salary means and if the legislation that exists in Sweden, regarding same salary for the same or similar work, effects sports and if the way that the sportindustry divide salaries are acceptable. The purpose is also to find out if discrimination of salary exist within swedish handball and if this is a reason why swedish ladies handball is not professional. The framing of questions that have been processed is:1. Does discrimination of salary occur in swedish handball?2. Is discrimination of salary an obstcale against professionalism in swedish ladies handball?MethodThe dissertation is a qualitative study where interviwes with persons from the Swedish and Danish handball federation, the equal opportunities ombudsman in Sweden and Likestillingsrådet in Denmark have been the most central. The reason to why different persons from Denmark have been interviwed is that Danish ladies handball is proffessional and many of the Danish handballplayers can live of theier handball.ResultsTo know if theier does occur discrimination of salary within Swedish handball is it neccesery to first find out if ladies in Swedish handball are eployees. After that there has to be proved that the way Swedish handball divide salaries are not acceptable as explanation of the differences between mens and womens salaries.ConclusionsToday it is impossible to answer the question if discrimination of salary occur within Swedish handball. Consequently the question if discrimination of salary is an obstcale against professionalism in swedish ladies handball can´t be answerd. My reserch has give rise to the conclusion that there are two different ways to handle discrimination of salary, provided that it occur within Swedish elitehandball. One way is by the legislation and the other one is by increasing the quality of the product ladies handball.
