Klimatet på tre platser i Sverige 2071-2100 i jämförelse med Europas klimat 1961-1990 med fokus på temperatur, nederbörd och avdunstning

En analytisk studie från en simulering av Rossby Centres regionala klimatmodell, rca3.

Due to human influences on the climate an increase in Earth's mean temperature is today an accepted conception. With a rising temperature discussions have started how the climate in an area will change in the future. Equally interesting and important is it also to study the precipitation in an area. Precipitation is the factor, next to temperature, that affects most how a climate in an area looks like and feels. Since precipitation is connected to evaporation the latter parameter is also of interest to study. Climate models describe the physical processes between the land, sea, lakes and atmosphere and are good tools to get information about a future climate. In this report, data from Rossby Centre's climate model, rca3, has been used as a basis for the results. The purpose is to know how the climate might change until the period 2071-2100 in three areas in Sweden. The three areas are those surrounding Malmö, Uppsala and Östersund and the parameters focusing on are temperature, precipitation and evaporation. To concretise the results, a comparison has been made between the three areas' future climate and Europe's climate during today's normal period 1961-1990. The results suggest that the temperature will rise for all three areas with a maxima during wintertime. All areas will be wetter since the precipitation will rise except during summertime in Malmö and Uppsala where a decrease is seen. The annual difference between precipitation and evaporation will remain relatively the same except in Östersund where a rise in precipitation is more comprehensive than evaporation. With these changes the future climate in the areas surrounding Malmö and Uppsala tend to be like today's climate in western and middle Europe, except during summertime where the climate tend to be like eastern Europe. The area surrounding Östersund tend to be like the climate southern Sweden has today.
