Specialpedagogiska insatser ur elevperspektiv

This study was about how pupils described their school situation with special education. The specific focus was on pupils which are described as ?troubled pupils?, unconcentrated pupils?, pupils in social and emotional difficulties or characterised by similar concepts. The study was based on a sociocultural perspective and an interactional perspective. The empirical material consisted of interviews with eight pupils in age between 9 to 12 years old and who had special education. The interpretation process was inspired by the hermeneutic method. The result showed that special education for the students were diverse. It was about teaching outside the classroom, individually or in small groups but also special education within the framework of the class occurred. The positive descriptions was that it was peace and quiet when they worked individually, talented educators, quicker assistance and that they had time to finished their schoolwork. What the students experienced as negative by the individual teaching was to leave their class. Students were afraid to miss something in the social interaction with peers and in the educational work in the classroom. Most of the students in the study expressed a need for a more inclusive approach, since many of the students wanted to get the most out of their education in the classroom.
