Jag får kommentarer, alltså är jag

En studie i bloggkommentarers betydelse och bloggskapande med skrivprocessen som utgångspunkt

In 2012 blogging reached an all time high in Sweden. Around 400,000 people made blog posts at least one time during this year. Blogs have publishing as a main purpose and can after publication be read by anyone with a computer, smartphone or tablet with an Internet connection. This makes the blogger open to response through comments that can be either constructive or destructive. No research has been made regarding blog comments and their effect on bloggers and their writing process. The aim of this study was to investigate: 1) what inspires bloggers to write and publish, 2) how the study population create their blog entries seen through the writing process, 3) why the study population choose to continue their blogging despite the risk of being subject to offensive comments. The examined population is 15 women between the ages of 15 to 28. This study was conducted through an online-based survey software containing 44 questions where 18 of these were closed-form. The findings show that the main reason bloggers write is for the response. This comes mainly in the form acknowledging comments. Furthermore, the results show a clear connection between blog writing and the writing process, where one is able to clearly follow the text production through the different stages. Response in the form of comments is predominantly positive and offensive comments seem to be a by-product of the freedom of speech on the Internet.
