Grundlagsskyddad yttrandefrihet på internet - En analys i kölvattnet av Lexbase
This is a qualitative case study of young womens? experiences of blogging about One Direction on the social media/microblogging platform Tumblr. The aim of this study was to find out what fan blogging is and why fans blog. We did this by creating an account on Tumblr where we invited young women between the ages of 16?29, who had active fan blogs dedicated to One Direction, to answer an open-ended questionnaire. With the help of the uses and gratifications approach we analyzed their answers of what they blog about, if they perceived their blogs as personal, how they chose their content, and what reasons they had for blogging. We found that the motivations for fan blogging were largely the same as previous studies have found for blogging in general, but the tools used to study blogging have become out-of-date. The categorization of blogging as either personal journaling or filter blogging does not take into consideration the larger spectrum of blogging practices that has evolved when different mediums and platforms converge, such as fan blogging on Tumblr.
