This master thesis has been a product realization process. Having BRIO:s walking cart as thestaring point the purpose was to further develop the principle of such products and at the sametime broaden their sector of use. The final result is to be regarded as a complete solutionmeant as a foundation for further development at the BRIO Company. The product aims tosatisfy the demands and needs of the target group called theon the go parent. Trends, qualityand purchase power are features that characterize this particular target group.The project resulted in a walking stool namedBRIO Circus after its source of inspiration. Thisproduct is something much more than just a learning-to-walk gadget. Thanks to its thoroughlyelaborated construction, high level of safety and classic design its aim is to be of use for theentire family. Having a long lifespan, being useful for various occasions and lasting forgenerations it has all the qualifications needed to become the next BRIO classic.The core principle behind the construction ofBRIO Circus consists of a slightly cone shapedbody made of polypropylene with its base part holding the three spring-mounted wheels. Thebody houses several openings leading to an inner space where for example the child can keepits toys. Every single parameter is carefully considered with the child?s safety in mind.The final concept is visualized using CAD models (Computer Aided Design). Basictheoretical computing has been carried out. Full-scale models have been created and tested bychildren giving positive results.The final product concept theBRIO Circus boasts a harmony between technology, economyand design.
