Qvarfordt, K (2014). Physical activity on prescription, the individual experience. Thesisin Public Health. School of Health and Work, University of Gävle. In order to increase physical activity and to create a better health licensed staff mayprescribe physical activity to patients. The purpose of this paper is to find out how fiveindividuals experienced getting Physical activity on Prescription, FaR ®. To answer thequestion I have used a qualitative method. The result was that all five perceived thattheir health had become better both mentally and physically . Three themes emergedfrom the interpretation of the interviews: motivation, drive and goal setting. FaR ® wasseen as a good method for giving individuals the motivation for a lifestyle change. FaR® serves as a means to make it easier for individuals to find the drive to go from beinginactive to active. The individuals were assisted by FaR ® to find their own goals forincreasing physical activity. The conclusion is that FaR ® is seen as positive by these individuals and seems tosupport a lifestyle change. It is clear, however, that more research on how individualsexperience physical activity on prescription is needed.
