En fallstudie om organisationskultur på hotell

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to examine the organizational culture at a specific hotel. To do this we have chosen to use interviews with both managers and employees. We have also done some minor observations and also studied written documents. The questions are as follow:? How is the organizational culture seen by managers and employees?? In which way is the organizational culture described in documents?? What differences and similarities are visible when comparing the opinions of employees and managers and the description in documents?It is mainly Edgar H. Scheins theories regarding organizational culture that are being used in this essay and how it can be divided into three levels: artifacts, espoused beliefs and values and basic underlying assumptions. We have also chosen to bring a more critical view on organizational culture into the light. This is done by examining Mats Alvessons perspective.The conclusions we have found are that the organizational culture at this specific hotel is quite similar when comparing the different opinions and descriptions. It only differs in a few questions and we think this might be because the organization is divided into several sectors and thereby creates subcultures.Key words: Organizational culture, Edgar H.
