Design av förhandlingsstöd - En fallstudie inom radiologisk verksamhet


Recent developments suggest that private and public companies are moving towards a more service-oriented business. Service orientation means that hardware is often sold in packages with service agreements, which makes the investment more difficult to assess. The challenges that arise will be to assess the value of the overall package, the information needed to make informed decisions and the operational requirements in combination of hardware, software, support agreements, training and more. The paper therefore aims to examine how decision makers can evaluate the benefits of these investments and obtain a stronger base to make better decisions. There is within the area of radiology in the region of Västra Götaland a pronounced need for a better flow of information regarding medical equipment and related service agreements. A case study with a focus on decision making related to the procurement of medical equipment and related service was conducted at the radiological area in the region of Västra Götaland. In addition to literature studies included qualitative interviews with relevant respondents with good knowledge and experience in the field. The study shows three dimensions that are important in negotiation and decision making: business, information and technology. The study also resulted in a prototype developed in order to compile, analyze and visualize existing data assets to enhance decision support in the process of purchasing. A collaboration between the essay writers, the region of Västra Götaland and Findwise was conducted in the development of the prototype. The authors elaborated a proposal for a user interface, from which Findwise advanced functionality and design, while the region of Västra Götaland contributed with business-related information. The result of this paper is thus a survey of the current situation in radiology in terms of acquisition of new equipment and new business, a prototype for decision support and a proposed theoretical framework in which existing theories interact.
