Arbetsmotivation och välbefinnande under en organisationsförändring

In an organizational change process, motivated employees are considered an asset. Work motivation can both be seen as situational and as a stable individual characteristic. The present study attempts to investigate how the employees at the Social Insurance Office in Scania experience the present organizational change by focusing on work motivation and well-being. Both questionnaires and interviews were adopted to examine the area of interest. Findings indicate that the organizational change is considered chaotic but necessary by the employees. Significant differences in work motivation and well-being, depending on for example the employees age, were found. The study concludes that young employees as well as highly educated personnel had significant lower work motivation. Employees with a combination of high intrinsic and low extrinsic motivation showed the highest well-being in the study. This combination of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation should be considered during the recruitment of new personnel at the Social Insurance Office in Scania.
