Sweden has a great tradition of pattern in both Wallpapers and fabric, where colours and shape matters a lot for the customer. I have through my examination project tried to expand the views and find new alternatives and shapes for the obvious pattern traditions. I have therefore worked with what could be on the verge of attractive or repelling. To create a curiosity of what is considered to be commercial. From the prospective of the body organs I have created physical patterns for fabric and Wallpapers.

I?ve previously been working with patterns for wallpaper and wanted to try anotherapproach.I wanted to use a strange story as a base to develop a wallpaper collection from. Theaim was to make a collection that is more than Wallpapers. The seed to this idea Igot from an article about mysterious deaths among birds in Chicago published inmetro. They had flown into a large building.

Pattern design is a territory which has been widely explored by many during a long period of time. With this project I hope to shine a new light on wallpaper design, the area on which I?ve applied my patterns to.The inspiration for this wallpaper collection originated in a past project in which I experimented with weaving strips of paper together in different ways. During this time I found myself curious to investigate how this kind of weaving could be applied to textiles, Wallpapers, etc.My main focus in this project has been about creating interesting patterns in which unexpected motifs are woven together. I?ve also touched on the subject of creating a kind of conceptual wallpaper constructed by weaving strips of wallpaper together.I based my patterns on a series of drawings that I created during the course leading up to this project.

The main purpose of this thesis has been to address the problem connected with conservation ofspecific objects in historic buildings that have a protected building status. The immaterial demandsand environmental concerns of a place of cultural significance are discussed as opposed to the welladaptedsetting of a museum, with regard to long-term preservation. In an authentic interior of acertain era, large-scale individual treatments of the objects that define it and regulations forconservation-related reasons, may not be considered a worth-while effort, as it is often the integrityof the environment as a whole that has been declared as significant. To investigate the relationshipbetween object and its context, a case study has been conducted by examination of the propertycalled ?Curmans villor?, located in the seaside community called Lysekil.

Hoppsasteg ? med känsla av glädje är ett examensprojekt som pågått under 20 veckor. Namnet har jag valt för att det är en känsla som jag vill uppnå under perioden. Syftet har varit att genomföra projektet med lust, göra figurativa, svartvita mönster med ett tecknat uttryck och att göra en flexibel möbel. Mönstren har ritats i tusch, det har tryckts på både tyg och tapet.

Hur designar man ett tapetmönster för fondväggar och hur ser designprocessen ut? I alla tider har människan dekorerat hemmets väggar, alltifrån grottmänniskans inristningar till den moderna människan som fäster självhäftande väggdekorationer på sina väggar. Budskapen kanske inte är detsamma då som nu, men alla har vi något vi vill uttrycka. Det vi tycker är intressant just med tapeter är att det har funnits så pass länge och att mönstren i sig inte har förändrats särskilt mycket från början av 1800-talet fram tills nu. Många äldre motiv kommer igen som till exempel medaljonger och växter.
