This essay will focus on the significance of gender in Toys´ portrayed in children books for the age 3-5years. The aim for the essay, partly, is to highlight how gender stereotypes can come forth and affect children through the way Toys are illustrated within children?s books. The essay will address books from two different time periods, the first period being the 40-50- 60's and the other being the 00´s. The questions to be addressed in this essay is; what type of Toys? children play with in the books used in the analysis, and if a change can be detected between the different time periods in terms of gender awareness in what type of Toys are presented in the books.The main method used in this essay is an iconological image analysis in which the first step is mapping, other methods used is analysis and interpretation.

In this study I have explored five parents reasoning about Toys, from a gender perspective. During the interviews, we have reasoned about Toys that are made for girls and for boys, what the differences are, and what advantages and disadvantages there might be for children to play with a variation of Toys, made for both genders. The results of the study show that most of the participants are more accepting for girls playing with Toys made for boys than the other way around, which indicates that boys? experience of the world might be somewhat limited, while girls have easier access to Toys made for both genders..

With this study we intend to investigate and analyse three different preschool?s holdings of Toys and discuss the result in relation to the creation of subject. The investigation in this study consists of an inventory of the holdings of Toys at three different preschools. We have used an already existing system for classification which is composed by Nilsson and Nelson (2002). The results give a detailed survey of collected material in the form of tables in which we indicate the comparisons which are relevant to our purpose.

The aim of this study is to investigate how preschool teachers reason about gender stereotypical and gender neutral Toys and other material. I would also like to see how the pedagogues reason about gender segregation when it comes to Toys. To investigate the issue, I have interviewed three pedagogues from different preschools. The results showed that the work procedures differed a bit from school to school, although they all wanted to achieve the same goal. A goal that our curriculum mention as well: Not to make a difference between boys and girls.

Endocrine disruptive chemicals (EDCs) are found in many everyday products and can cause adverse effects on human health. Small children are particularly sensitive to EDCs and they are also exposed to them in a greater extent than adults. Despite this, EDCs are only banned in a few Toys and childcare products. There are many sources of exposure and if no steps are taken to reduce the incidence of EDCs we may face an increasing number of people diagnosed with obesity, diabetes type 2 or various types of cancer.The Swedish Government has set a number of environmental objectives, one of which is calleda non-toxic environment. The Swedish Chemicals Agency was instructed to produce and conduct a national action plan to achieve this goal.

Denna uppsats har till syfte att undersöka om det är möjligt att som pedagog tälja leksaker i en barngrupp medan barnen leker. Undersökningen har även inriktats mot om det egna förhållningssättet till själva utförandet av att tälja leksaker, kan ha inverkan på barnens lek. En frågeställning har då varit om leksakers utformning har betydelse för barns fantasiutveckling. Den egna utvecklingen av gestaltningsförmågan har också observerats. En kvalitativ forskningsmetod har legat till grund för undersökningen som kan jämföras med en aktionsstudie.

Using the principles of continuous improvement andLean Production, the author developed a concept for HAGS Aneby AB to changeto the customer order driven assembly of spring Toys.First of all, the theories of Lean Production, logistics and ergonomics are used tobuild and present a theoretical framework for further examination. Then, toachieve the target, the current assembly process is analyzed to develop some firstconceptual ideas for improvement. Playsam in Kalmar AB are world famous for their design of the Toys they sell. Together with their CEO Carl Zedig the goal was to find a new product for the company.  The process has far from been linear, I started off in one direction, got rejected, turned another way and we finally decided to create a rocking horse in a De Stijl style. At the same time taking consideration of the demands from Playsam and myself.Playsam?s products are archetypes of ordinary objects around us such as the car or the aeroplane. The company mainly produces its Toys in wood and the stylized shape together with the blank painted surface has become a hallmark for them.De Stijl, the Dutch art movement containing artists, designers and architects such as Piet Mondrian, Theo van Doesburg and Gerrit Rietveld.

I?ve been working with traditional materials such as ceramic sculptures and oil oncanvas. Med energieffektivisering menas att man använder energi på ett effektivt sätt som ska leda till en positiv inverkan på miljö och samhälle.Sisjö Entré är ett köpcentrum som har en årlig energiförbrukning på 1 865 270 kWh och bör enligt Energimyndighetens riktvärde ha en årlig förbrukning på 1 530 000 kWh, alltså en minskning med 18 %. Köpcentret består av 17 butiker och i examensarbetet undersöks fem butiker vilka är Toys ? Us, Rusta, Burger King, Babyproffsen och Webhallen. I dessa utförs mätningar på ventilation och belysning med syftet att studera vilka laster i butikerna som orsakar mest förbrukning. Målet är att komma fram till förslag på åtgärder för att minska energiförbrukning samt kostnader.Vi kom fram till att belysning är den största lasten i handelslokaler vilka är Toys ? Us, Rusta, Babyproffsen och Webhallen medan den största lasten i restauranger (Burger King) är utrustningen i köket som står för 75 % av restaurangens totala förbrukning.I Rusta upptäckte vi att elmätarna visade lägre värden än den verkliga förbrukningen.

This study shows how boys and girls play has changed during the 20th century. The purpose is to make people aware of the change that has happened. In the background I show what the literature says about gender and play, before and now.To get a result I?ve interviewed two older persons and four children. These interviews has been compared to see similarities and differences.I discovered that today?s play revolves mostly around Toys.
