During some time there has been a debate whether or not logging contractors? profitability can be considered poor. The contractors? Situation is important for maintaining long term relationships and continuity in the forest industry. A thorough analytic picture is however missing.

Most of the people in today's society have at least some knowledge about Alzheimer's disease to some extent. When a person with Alzheimer's disease is being taken care of at home, the relatives have to change their own priorities and readapt themselves to the existing Situation. The primary aim of this study is to describe how the relatives experience their own Situation in life. The secondary aim of this study is to describe how the relatives understand their own relation with the health care authorities concerning the help and support issues. The authors have realized this study using the analytic inductive method and have interviewed four informants using a semi structured interview guide.

The purpose of this study is to examine how EU-migrants visiting the social project Crossroads experience their life Situation in the Swedish society. Two questions were formulated: (1) How do the respondents describe their Situation when it comes to work, housing and social network? (2) How do the interviewees describe and experience the social project Crossroads? The method used was qualitative interviews conducted with five EU-migrants who visited Crossroads. The theoretical framework is the concept of integration and Bauböcks (1996) theoretical model of the ideal society. The results show that none of the interviewees had their own accommodation.

Uppsatsen beskriver hur samhällets ekonomiska och kulturella Situation påverkar reklamens utformning. Utgångspunkten i arbetet är samspelet mellan samhällets Situation och reklamens utformning och omfattar åren 1960 till 2005. Vi har funnit olika företeelser som kan kallas trender i samhällets ekonomiska och kulturella Situation som till viss del kan kopplas till de trender som iakttagits i reklamen. Vi har även sett trender i reklamen som kan sägas ha påverkat samhällets utveckling. Därmed kan vi säga att det finns en påverkan mellan samhällets Situation och reklamens utformning.

This essay investigates the work Situation for teacher educators at a university with focus on the subject areas education, research and administration. The research questions contain the work Situation the teacher educators have, how they apprehend it, and how they find their position within the work organisation. Six interviews have been executed at the teacher education at a university. Some of the results from the investigation indicate that the teacher educators find education to be very a very demanding work and that the split of work during the academic year is uneven. The work with administration before and after the education, for example work with syllabuses and descriptions for courses, are activities demanding much time.

The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate how librarians working in academic libraries are experiencing the reference Situation from a pedagogical point of view, by applying a theoretical framework consisting of learning strategies and their different characteristics, to qualitative interviews. Other goals are to elucidate the fact that learning takes place every day at libraries during the reference Situation and that this work must be seen as ?one of the most important activities that takes place at the library?, using the words from one of the interviewed librarians, but also to make place for more discussions regarding pedagogic and library work. This is done by posing questions about knowledge, learning, information literacy, communication, the reference encounter, the roles of the librarian, policy and also architectural aspects of the reference Situation. The interviews were taped, transcribed and categorized according to the earlier mentioned areas of interest.

Studier som undersöker hemlösa människors upplevelser med annat fokus än det elände de befinner sig i kan bidra med förståelse och kunskap som behövs för att kunna hjälpa de sämst ställda. In the 1960?s, Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard developed a theory called Situational Leadership. Situational Leadership is a model where the leader analyses the needs of the Situation and the needs of the people to be led. After analysing the Situation, decision is made on what leadership style to adopt. The Situational Leadership model was developed in a company environment.

The purpose with this study was to examine how persons giving care to their spouses with dementia experience their life Situation. As information source we used a qualitative study which included halfstructured interview questions. The study took place in three municipalities in the south of Sweden. Three females and two males took part in the study and everyone had experiences of giving care to their spouces with dementia. We used a coping theory and an exchange theory.

The aim of this thesis is to study the Situation of minorities in Slovakia before and after the EU-membership and if EU has played a role in the Situation. Also the criteria for becoming a member and other treaties regarding protection of minorities between European institutions and the accession/member states are studied. With the help of i.e. literature, relevant internet pages and yearly studies of EU, the conclusion has been made that Slovakia has made an immense change in the state?s legislation when it comes to minorities and their fundamental rights, but that changes need to be made in attitudes as well.

The aim of this study was twofold; firstly it sought to describe the human security Situation of Roma IDPs and IDPs living in collective centers, secondly it tried to create an understanding for how the human security Situation can affect IDPs capabilities to develop. The findings of the study were mainly based on a field study conducted in Belgrade, Serbia for two months. The results of the study were that IDPs in collective centers have a poor human security Situation regarding basic income, employment, adequate housing and experienced personal security. Roma IDPs suffer from the same insecurities, but in addition also has poor human security in basic education and personal safety. Their stagnant human security Situation proved to be the result of the inability to help IDPs by the actors involved in the relief work.

AbstractThe purpose of this essay is to study how undocumented migrants Situation is constructed inSwedish massmedia discourse. The purpose has also been to study how the compromisedhuman rights of undocumented migrants in Sweden are legitimated in massmedia discourseand how resistance is constructed. The following main questions have been processed in this essay:- How are undocumented migrants and their Situation constructed in Swedish massmediadiscourse?- How is society?s part in the Situation constructed?Following questions are related to the main questions:- How is the Situation that undocumented migrants face in Sweden legitimated in discourse?-What social consequences do the constructions have for undocumented migrants and for theSwedish society?The questions have been answered through a discourse analysis on empirical materialconsisting of ten news clips from Swedish public service television SVT and ten articles fromthe online editions of the main national newspapers Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Aftonbladet and Expressen. The analysis was done with analytic methods from discursivepsychology and with the sociological theories at hand in this essay.The conclusions drawn from the analysis are that the Situation is constructed according todifferent interpretative repertoires drawing on humanitarian discourses and economicdiscourses, which lead to separate social consequences and ideological categorisations of ?usand them?.
