This thesis examines how techniques from place marketing, developed to market places, can be used in the process of designing a visual identity for an institution. The thesis is a case study of the development of a new visual identity for the public art institution Malmö konsthall. The essay presents Malmö Konsthall, defines the term visual identity and describes the main principles in place branding. I then define target audiences and key values, discuss the application of place marketing principle and go through the design process of the new visual identity. The process showed that theories about flagship buildings, Signature design and Signature districts have the biggest influence on the design.

AbstractThe author Selma Lagerlöf was born in 1858 at Mårbacka, in Värmland and died in 1940. Fifty years after Selma´s death were her correspondence released and ten thousand of letters were found in the collection. But it was just the correspondence between Selma and Sofie Elkan who interested people because they wanted to know if Selma and Sofie have had a sexual relationship. Later, in time for Christmas 2008 the Swedish Television shows a film about Selma. "Selma Lagerlöf Society" was critical to the movie and thougt that the movie focused too much on Selma`s sexual orientation.

Over a long time psychology was focusing on human frailties and mental diseases. In 1998, positive psychology was introduced - the scientific study of strengths, well-being and optimal functioning. Theory and research in the area has identified 24 character strengths, in which each individual owns and celebrates a number of top strengths, Signature strengths. These strengths have been shown to be important in achieving happiness and well-being. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between character strength and psychological well-being, job satisfaction, harmonious- and obsessive passion and stress.

Communication between parties in an important process in their relationship can be based on a contract. This communication can for exemple be composed by a handwritten contract or an electronic contract. Context: Congruent ambient scents are not used extensively in marketing and there is only some research in this area within the Swedish retail. Moreover, there are not many studies that show how ambient scents influence customer behavior in a Swedish clothing store.Purpose: Examine and analyze which of the ambient scent vanilla and white orchid that suite and can provide a Signature fragrance to the clothing store Kompaniet in Kalmar. The purpose of this study is therefore to compare how these scents affect the customers? behavior in the servicescape.Method: A deductive research strategy with an experimental design. The experiment was performed in Kompaniet in Kalmar.Theory: Our theoretical framework consists of sensory marketing, male and female shopping behavior, the sense of smell and ambient scent in the servicescape atmospherics.Results: Here we present a presentation of Kompaniets servicescape.

Magnetiskresonanstomografi, MRI, är en användbar teknik inom flera områden, i denna uppsats ligger fokus på användning inom medicin. Fysiken som ligger bakom MRI presenteras, som t ex uppdelning av energinivåer och kärnmagnetiskresonans. Uppbyggnad och tekniken som ligger bakom MRI har även studeras. Sedan har det gjorts jämförelse mellan MRI, röntgen och datortomografi. Utöver litteraturstudierna har simulering gjorts. I denna del har en modell för hjärnan byggts i programmet Comsol Multiphysics.

The use of insecure networks -such as the Internet- to send and receive information has made the need for preventing unauthorised people reading it yet more important. One of the easiest way to do this is through public key cryptography. However, the problem with this solution is how to tie a specific public key to a certain subject. This is solved by letting a trusted third party issue a certificate that holds, as a minimum, the name of the subject and the subject's public key along with the issuer's digital Signature on the information. The rules we make for issuing, revoking and verifying of certificates and the entities that are being used to do so are called PKI - Public Key Infrastructure.

Det övergripande syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka hur kursplanen för engelska i grundskolan har förändrats under perioden 1962 till 2000. Undersökningen syftar således till att kartlägga kursplanernas utveckling av engelskämnet ur ett historiskt perspektiv. Denna uppsats har med utgångspunkt från en komparativ textanalysmetod undersökt hur kursplanerna i läroplanerna från 1962, 1969, 1980, 1994 och kursplaner 2000, den reviderade kursplanen från 1994 skiljer sig från varandra rörande beskrivningarna för de grundläggande kunskapsområdena ?höra?, ?tala?, ?läsa?, ?skriva?. Centralt för analysen har varit att försöka klargöra den kunskapssyn som framträder i kursplanerna och de språkvetenskapliga teorier som influerat deras utformning.

I den digitala världen är elektroniska Signaturer motsvarigheten till traditionella namnunderskrifter. Många lagregler innehåller ett krav på egenhändig underskrift. Frågan är om elektroniska Signaturer kan anses uppfylla det kravet och på så sätt godtas istället för en namnunderskrift. Om inte, måste lagändringar till för att elektroniska Signaturer skall accepteras. I förarbeten och doktrin finns skilda meningar om elektroniska Signaturers rättsverkan och vad som krävs för att de skall godtas.

De psykiskt sjuka tar allt större plats inom den somatiska sjukvården men forskningsfältet är nytt och kunskapsluckor existerar. En systematisk litteraturstudie gjordes. Litteraturstudiens syfte var att belysa sjuksköterskans attityd till att vårda patienter med psykisk sjukdom i den somatiska vården.En databassökning har gjorts i fyra databaser med omvårdnadsfokus: Cinahl, Pubmed och PsycInfo. Sex studier inkluderades. Ur dessa har utkristalliserats tre återkommande teman: attityder som avspeglar sjuksköterskans erfarenheter, vårdmiljöns betydelse på sjuksköterskans attityder och utbildningens betydelse för sjuksköterskans attityder.En stor mängd negativa attityder existerar men även en del positiva, ofta knutet till sjuksköterskan personliga attityder.

This thesis takes on a broader perspective of the modern age phenomenon we call spam. One of the aims of this thesis is to present and to compare the variety of methods used in the day-to-day fight against spam, as far they have evolved today, but also to present and discuss some alternative methods for suggested future use. The properties of a common e-mail spam are analyzed to show how the components that make up the structure in an e-mail can be used to classify spam. Furthermore I explain the naïve Bayesian classification methods, the Signature-based method, the commonly used rule-based method and the challenge and response method and discuss these. The widespread use of blacklists is also explained and a close new variant to blacklisting, Turntide is presented and discussed.

In contemporary encryption the vast amount of text subject to cracking has brought about the demand for methods distinguish files more likely to be encrypted. The encryption software Truecrypt can encrypt files that are not possible to identify with a file Signature. To solve the detection problem, an algorithm sensitive to the absence of structure in the very code of files was developed. The program was written in the programming language EnScript which is built into the forensic software suite EnCase. The essential part of the algorithm therefore deployes the statistic of a chi-square test for deviance from a uniform distribution to distinguish files with contents that appear to be random.

I den här uppsatsen har jag analyserat tre tidningsartiklar från herrtidningen Moore, och tre tidningsartiklar från tjejtidningen Solo. Jag har analyserat en artikel i varje nummer, så totalt har jag använt sex tidningar. Utöver artiklarna har jag också analyserat två av tidningarnas omslag. Efter analyserna har jag gjort jämförelser mellan de båda tidningarnas artiklar och omslag för att se om det går att påvisa några skillnader, men även likheter.     Min avsikt med att göra det här var att bevisa vetenskapligt att skillnader finns i tidningarnas informationsdesign, alltså deras bilder, texter och layout. Jag har analyserat artiklarna efter en ganska strikt modell, men även tagit mig friheten att välja bort eller lägga till vissa element i modellen beroende på vilken sorts artikel jag analyserat.
