År 1054 skedde en splittring mellan kristendomens två största inriktningar, den ortodoxa och den katolska kyrkan. Detta skedde efter århundraden av oenigheter, missförstånd, maktkamper med mera. Förutom maktkamperna berör konflikterna Kristi natur och Filioque tillägget. Uppsatsen berör även relationerna mellan den ortodoxa och den katolska kyrkan efter splittringen. Undersökningen visar att det finns skillnader i hur olika författare återger de historiska händelserna.

This essay examines the love affair between the two main characters of Rut Hillarp?s novel Sindhia. It draws attention to the Schism between the Surrealist version of love as an extatic-religious fusion of the sexes ? that in a way marks the relationship ? and the yet remarkable coolness between the two lovers.With the theories of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, I will show how the man and the woman project their unrealistic individual fantasies on each other, thus rendering impossible the Surrealist Meeting, with its road to an absolute reality. The Surrealist "l?amour fou", I will argue, is trapped in the ritualized "l?amor interruptus"; a lacanian term for a certain kind of love that wishes to conceal the fact that desire will never find its object.

This thesis focuses on the perception of immigration and refugees in the commonEuropean refugee and immigration policy. It identifies different discourses andstudies their development and interrelated power structures.Using the discourse theory of Laclau and Mouffe, documents from theEuropean Council, the Commission, the Justice and Home Affairs Council andParliament debates are analysed. The study is defined in the time span of 1999-2006, i.e. from the European Council's first agreement on developing a commonEuropean asylum system, following the period up till today.Four discourses are distinguished, focusing respectively on rights, security,European Union's needs, and cultural identity. I use Sandra Lavenex theory ofrealism and idealism to analyse one of the main points in the thesis: There is afundamental Schism between the one rights-based discourse, focusing on universalhuman rights, and the three sharing a particularistic focus on immigration as asecurity concern.

What is the Church? This question has been asked in many times and places. In Sweden, it seems asif there's a general identity crisis among the churches. It seems like many churches don't know whythey exist, or at least they have a very vague understanding of the full meaning of the Church.Some 50 years ago, we had a new encounter in Sweden. Immigrants from Orthodoxcountries came to live here, and they brought their church and tradition with them.

En återkommande debatt i pressen är huruvida gatukonst/spontankonst, såsom graffiti, är en konstform som bidrar till stadsrummet eller är klotter och ska behandlas som ett olaga tillbud på stadsrummet. Debatten behandlar ofta graffiti och sträcker sig alltifrån tillåtande av lagliga väggar för graffitikonstnärer till en uppfattning att graffitiutövare är grovt kriminella och att en nolltolerans ska hållas gentemot graffiti. De olika partipolitiska organisationerna förhåller sig olika till frågan, och det gör också debattörerna på våra stora svenska dagstidningar; åsikterna går isär. Jag finner denna Schism intressant och vill i detta arbete djupare undersöka de olika åsikterna och bakgrunden till dessa. Genom att titta på olika infallsvinklar från olika ämnesområden såsom arkitektur, sociologi, kulturgeografi, dagspress med flera vill jag få fram en mer sammansatt bild än den som ibland upplevs i mediedebatten.
