Revitalizing classic art using real-time game technology: environment modeling and texturing
The purpose with this essay is to study how companies use the repositioning process and identify the risks involved from a business perspective. We have chosen to base our essay on the following research questions:What reasons are there for a company to initiate a repositioning?, What does it mean for companies to implement a repositioning?, What are the risks with a repositioning? We have used a qualitative research method and have chosen to interview six respondents which in various ways are actively working with brand repositioning. Our study has been implemented with and deductive character. The most important conclusion that we observed after implementing our study is that repositioning is a high-risk project. Instead of changing their entire brand image, companies should instead make small changes and revitalize the brand by developing the strength that already exist.
Förändring av varumärken
This thesis aims to study brand change, which can be of interest since a brand during its lifetime can be expected to meet a lifecycle consisting of five phases; innovation, introduction, growth, maturity and recession. In order to avoid the recession phase and the sales decline that follows there is a need for a change of the brand. In order to study brand change, theoretical framework is compared to two real world cases that have gone through an active change. The conceptions of positioning, repositioning and revitalization are clarified. Positioning deals with how brands are located in customer?s minds as well as on the real market. Repositioning implies a change of the current position and is also often a move towards a new market segment.
Stockholm temporary : relevancy & potentials for implementing temporary architecture in Stockholm
Temporary architecture is an alternative urban planning concept which has been adapted in many cities worldwide during the last decade. There is however no common definition for temporary architecture and it is diversely labelled and applied. In 2013 it also became publicly introduced in Stockholm via the approval of the city's first architectural guideline.
Temporary architecture is presented in the guideline as a potential tool for exploring public spaces among other architecture related themes. The ideas for temporary architecture are ambitious and promising. The problem is that they are vague and leaves questions regarding
performance unanswered.
När tågen slutat gå : förvandling av övergiven räls till publikt promenad- och parkstråk
Abandoned and unused railway structures often possess
great potential if they are reclaimed and reused for new
purposes. The thesis focuses on the global trend of
restoring and Revitalizing these areas, converting them
into park areas, rail trails and green corridors in the city
landscape, while preserving their ecological, social, esthetic and historic values.
These rail areas were often abandoned when industries
moved out from the cities, either to industrial areas or
abroad. The use of railways for transporting industrial
goods was also replaced to a large extent my motorized
road vehicles in the mid 20th century, leaving the rails
under-utilized. Because of their location and intrinsic
values, they can be reused for important functions, such
as green areas in the city environment, providing space for
recreational activities and exercise and social meetings and
interactions.
I have closely investigated the three park areas High Line in New York, Promenade Plantée in Paris and Schöneberger
Südgelände in Berlin, which have all gone through this
transformation in recent years. I have summarized my
conclusions in three key concepts to consider: design for
social values, preserve the architectural history, and leave
room for future evolution.
The final part of my work is a design program for an
abandoned railways area in Stockholm: Eriksdal railway
area.
