The aim with this study is to investigate how Swedish public service local radio uses information subsides in the form of Press releases. In terms of which entrants gain entrance to the news feed, in which forms and in which subjects. Also we wanted to study how the journalist uses the content in the Press releases. To do this we cooperated with the public service radio channel Sveriges radio P4 Kalmar. For 28 days, four weeks, we collected all incoming Press releases to the newsroom of P4 Kalmar.

Purpose/Aim: We have a right to freedom of the Press, but we do also have a right not to be exposed to slander, we have a right to not be insulted. A study about this rights and crimes in the swedish law.Material/Method: literature, Internet, cases, Commission of Inquiry's recommendation. A qualitative research methodMain results: There is a very strong freedom of the Press in the Swedish constitution. Mostly it stands immovable. The freedom of Press can be restricted in case of slander.

This paper aims to broaden the discussion on how Press freedom can be a powerful tool in the war on corruption. Previous studies have shown a significant relationship between more Press freedom and less corruption, it also shows that the causal link runs from Press freedom to corruption and not the other way around. There are quite a few studies on the impact of a free Press on corruption and therefore there is a lot more to be published on this issue.This paper looks at Press freedom as one of the most important parts of a democratic society and that it plays a vital role in reducing corruption as both an informant on key issues and also as a ?watchdog? on society. But Press freedom cannot be seen as an ?easy fix? in a country or the international community's struggle to reduce corruption.

Today most people are in agreement that the media industry is in crisis. Many newsrooms cut down on staff. At the same time the PR industry is growing. We wanted to research if this could affect the unbiased and independent news in our news media today. Today's newsrooms receive a lot of Press releases every day.

The past years in Sweden has been infected by a discussion about immigration and immigrants, both spoken in politics and media. The aim of this essay is to study the attitude about immigrants in the third period of immigration in Sweden found in the local Press. And also what image the Press gave of immigrants. The study looks at Smålandsposten, which is a large local Press in the Växjö area. During the period for this study was the attitude in the local Press very negative. The studied articles in Smålandsposten shows a profound idea of a ?we? and ?them?.

Aim: The aim for this study of Swedish daily Press is to see how the musical reporting is structured for the newspapers I have chosen to analyse. My main purpose is to investigate how the newspapers reporting are distributed between artists who belong to either a major record company or an independent record company. With this research I want to find out if there are any economic backgrounds to the content and if the reporting is equal to the market production.Method/Material: For this study I have studied, by quantitative research, every piece of musical reporting in seven daily newspapers for two weeks. Through thorough research I have determined the belonging of every article?s record company.

Holy war against the aberration and the newspaper terrorismHeligt krig mot förvillelsen och tidningsterrorismen This paper explores Bernhard von Beskow?s (1796-1868) conservative critique of the, for the early 19th century, new dominating voice in public matters namely the liberal Press. There are competing narratives about the emerging liberal Press and its critics. On the one hand the conservative critics were seen as hopeless reactionaries which acted against freedom of the Press, themselves stripped of positive ideals and/or handled with little interest as footnotes in the great story of the liberal victory over its opponents. On the other hand this story has been questioned and an alternative has been presented of how to understand the conservatives and their critique of the Press.

 The aim of this essay is, by using tree conductive Swedish newspapers, see how thesubmarine violations that Sweden suffered during 1980s, was depicted in the Swedish Press in terms of threats. Two major submarine violations will be investigated in this paper, U137-incident in Karlskrona archipelago in 1981 and Hårsfjärden-incident in Stockholm archipelago in 1982. To achieve the purpose, I use a qualitativ method and a threatperspective to answer my questions. These questions are for instance- From which nation, according to Press reports, comes the threat?- What is, according to the Press, threatened?The results show that the Press saw the submarine violations as a major and serious threat that mainly come from Soviet Union.

The aim of this thesis is to examine how the Swedish daily Press portraits librarians and the profession. I have used a discourse analytic study in my purpose to examine the image of librarians and the profession. I have analysed 34 articles between January 1, 2009 until January 1, 2010 from Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, which are the two daily newspapers with the largest circulation in Sweden. I have used three major questions to answer the aim of my study: In what context do librarians and the profession appear in the daily Press?What qualities are librarians assigned in the daily Press?What views and attitudes about librarians and the profession appear in the articles?My analysis resulted in three discourses; discourse about librarians? relation to literature, discourse about librarians and the labour market and discourse about librarians and information.

The purpose of this thesis was to study the origin of the local news in local newspapers. Do the news originate mostly from the police, the municipality, from Press releases or from the reporters own ideas? We also wanted to find out what kind of content predominated in texts with its origin in Press releases respectively the reporters own ideas. Of course we also wanted to find out if there were any similarities or differences between the two studied newspapers.We used a type of constructed week, but with non random selection instead of random. We chose one of each weekday the newspapers were published and studied the news covered in the papers that specific day.
