The purpose of this study was to investigate the collaboration of four learners of Swedish as a second language during a pair-writing task, as well as their experiences of the process, in order to draw conclusions about how to execute pair-writing in the L2 classroom. The study has found that the establishment of compatible partners are of great importance to achieve success and learning through pair-writing. One of the pairs studied managed to work well together and use each other?s knowledge to improve their text, while the other pair continuosly battled for dominance, which had a negative impact on their performance. The two successful students had enjoyed the task and believed they had learned something from it and that pair-writing can be a useful source of knowledge.

The aim with this study is to explore if and how linguistic learning takes places when four pairs ofstudents in grade one writes on the computer. Observations of eight students took place duringtwelve lessons to investigate what happened during their writing processes. This study isimportant because students? computer writing is a relatively new phenomenon in the Swedishprimary school.It is clear that the peer collaboration creates a complex interaction that becomes the platform, andalso the prerequisite, for successful language training. The method can clearly give students profitsin their linguistic development.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att studera hur parskrivning vid datorn hjälper elever i läs- och skrivsvårigheter. Utifrån syftet har följande forskningsfrågor formulerats:? Hur deltar, samtalar och interagerar eleverna i skrivsituationen?? Vilka förutsättningar krävs för att parskrivning vid datorn ska främja elevernas läs- och skrivutveckling?Teori: Studien har en socialkonstruktionistisk teori. Centralt inom socialkonstruktionismen är att verkligheten ses som socialt konstruerad. Forskningsansatsen i studien är sociokulturell.
