Som examensarbete i inredningsarkitektur och möbeldesign har jag valt att söka efter ett formuttryck som ligger bortom de modernistiska idealen av logik och rationalitet. Som utgångspunkt i en designuppgift har jag valt träslaget furu och Ornament i alla dess former. Jag ifrågasätter rådande smak och stilideal inom områdena inredning och möbler. Dessutom har jag som intention att höja statusen på furu. Detta utmynnar i ett möbelformgivningsprojekt där jag formulerar några tankar i en möbel om en roligare designvärld att leva i.

The aim with this master's thesis is to describe the work process with the graduation film Player, by a composers perspective and given conditions. It provides a detailed insight into how the work was done from the script stage to the end result, scene by scene reflecting about both the musical performance and the collaboration between the director and me as a composer. This thesis discusses the dress code during the Pitted Ware culture on the Swedish island of Gotland. Eight Pitted Ware grave-fields have been analyzed; only 74 skeletons have been identified with some sort of Ornament that could have been attached to clothes. The grave-fields are rich in finds and in people nearly every age group is present. The analysis has shown that there are clear differences between the genders. The female always has some sort of seal tooth Ornament around her waist and thighs.

Barn ska få möjligheten att växa upp med, och uppleva, vuxna sammanhang samt visuell komplexitet i sin omgivning. Utan dessa utbyten och objekt i sin omgivning utvecklas barns delaktighet i samhället som ansvarsfulla medborgare långsammare. Detta är projektets utgångspunkt. Förskolan Bullerbyn är, precis som namnet tyder på, en liten by med olika verksamheter där förskolan ligger i fokus med en central gård. Barnen kommer i kontakt med vuxna som arbetar i byggnaderna intill: bageriet levererar bröd och fika, restaurangen lagar mat till lunchen, ett snickeri delas med ateljéerna, utställningslokalen drar till sig både vuxna och barn i sin verksamhet och kontorsfolket kommer och går genom uteplatsen.

This thesis analyses the decoration on the pots of the Pitted Ware Culture on Gotland. The pottery from this period is richly decorated with various Ornaments, the most common are the pits but other types of decoration occur. The purpose of this study is to get an insight into what the patterns meant to the people that made and used them and what role these may have played in their lives. The author will analyse the decoration on potsherds found from the three Pitted Ware sites of Visby, Ajvide and Hemmor on Gotland. This will be used in a comparative analysis to investigate if differences and/or similarities of the pattern occur between and among the sites.

This thesis analyses the Funnel Beaker Culture on the island of Gotland. Since no comprehensive studies of the remains of the pottery have been made, this is one of the reasons why I chose to study this topic. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pottery and to discuss the chronological and spatial implications. Four sites from the Funnel Beaker Culture on Gotland are studied; Mölner/Gullarve, Gräne, Ardags and Suderkvie. Ceramic samples are analyzed with respect to its Ornament and it is discussed if the pottery found at various sites are contemporary.

This thesis has had its focus on ceramic shards found in a trench by the late neolithic western shore of the Ajvide site. The purpose of the thesis is to investigate if there are changes in the pottery between the test trench and the ceramics found by the graves, known as the main site. The author has compared the Ornaments from the test trench with an Ornament schedule made from over 50 000 shards from the assumed main site. Not only changes regarding Ornaments has been noticed but also new techniques and raw material. The author has also implemented two 14C datings which backs his hypothesis that the shards from the test trench are younger than the shards that made the earlier Ornament schedule.

Detta projekt är en ombyggnad av Tyresö Gymnasium till ett bostadskomplex, som bevarar ytterväggarna och den bärande konstruktionen i delen av skolan vald, för att sedan ändra om planlösningen och dra ett stråk genom byggnaden. Det ombyggdas gestaltning söker använda historiska referenser på ett sätt som gör att tillbyggnaden kontrasterar den kvarvarande skolan. Eftersom de yttre fasaderna bevaras skapar projektet en sorts oas, eller en gömd glänta, i Tyresö.  När ombyggnaden väl är klar, kommer skillnaden vara näst intill omärkbar utifrån, utom av vissa glimtar, för att locka in förbipasserande att ta en liten omväg och gå genom den skapade gränden. En stor del av det här projektet var vilket förhållningsätt jag skulle ha till historiska referenser. Utgångspunkten var att använda dem flitigt, något jag inte var så bevandrad i förut, i synnerhet inte förmodernistiska stilar (speciellt Art Nouveau) vilket var det jag ville använda. Jag ville varken enbart kopiera rakt av, eller använda element utan koppling till helheten i en annars modern byggnad.

To solve the attempt lipid and morphological analyses were executed. The lipid analysis revealed traces of different food residues and the morphological method showed various shapes and decors. The result indicates that the Alby ceramics has been used for cooking/storage of different fish and meat dishes, as well as vegetables and that the vegetables doesn?t derive of cereals..

The catchphrase this project has been; the boundaries between Ornamentation and improvisation are fluid.My aim was to focus on my work process, giving me the space and time so develop my design further regarding shape, color and combination of different styles in patterns.This is an explorative project where patterns were created without a predetermined product of which the patterns would be applied. In a later stage the character of the pattern determined which product that would be most suitable for application.It resulted in a collection of patterns for wallpaper and clothing. The motives are foxes, geometrical shapes and squares from a notebook. These motives form an Ornamental expression in the patterns with the purpose of embellishment and therefore increase the emotional value of the product..

Few rectory gardens are today remaining in their former design and the cultural heritage that they represent are disappearing. Since 1987-88 the parishes are no longer bound to keep housing for their priests, which means that they, for economical reasons, are starting to sell their rectories. With this in mind, a group of people, growing up in rectories in Småland and Öland between the 1930th and 1950th, formed an interest group to save the memory of their rectory gardens. On the basis of their memories, they have written a couple of descriptions of the rectories, which describe the gardens content, design and the life they once lived there. With this compilation of the 14 rectory gardens I want to keep the memory of them and create a ground for future work in this field. Historically the rectory gardens played an important roll as patterns and examples in the countryside.

Jeansmarknaden idag i Sverige är präglad av hög konkurrens med många olika aktörer somverkar där. De senaste åren har en speciell kundgrupp vuxit fram vilka kallas jeansnördar.Dessa konsumenter och deras syn på jeans är i dagsläget inte kartlagt vilket därförhuvudsyftet med studien. Under studien har vi kommit i kontakt med ett svenskt jeansföretagvid namn Pace Jeans som vi intervjuade och fick därigenom hjälp med att identifiera personersom kunde hjälpa oss att uppnå vårt syfte. Genom att ställa oss frågan hur företaget ser påjeansnörden och hur det här skiljer sig från hur den faktiska konsumenten är. Huvudfrågan fördenna studie är vem jeansnörden är och hur denne ser på jeans.
