Biologisk reducering av nitrat och nitrit i vatten

During the summer 2007 was a scrubber tested at Gruvön papper mill in Grums. The scrubber reduced NOx with 90 % in flue gas. NOx was transferred from the flue gas to a scrubber liquid as nitrate and Nitrite. The scrubber liquid needs to be purified from nitrate and Nitrite. One possible solution is to clean the scrubber liquid in Gruvön biologic cleaning construction.Microorganisms in the biologic cleaning construction need to assimilate nitrogen. There are environments free from oxygen in the cleaning construction.

This thesis was performed as assignment from Fazer Food Services. The aim was to survey which food additives that were present in the products in the quotation list of one of their suppliers to the Education and Nursing segment. The aim also was to perform a theoretical analysis of these food additives and to make recommendations which food additives are acceptable and which should be excluded from the products in the future. Food additives which have already been approved are regarded as safe according to the safety evaluation methods available at the time of approval.

Resurseffektiv kvävereduktion genom nitritationProblematiken med övergödning i våra akvatiska system har lett till hårdare krav på kväverening vid våra reningsverk. En rejektvattenbehandling har visat sig vara ett bra alternativ för att utöka kvävereningen. Vid Nykvarnsverket i Linköping renas avloppsvatten och sedan 2009 finns en SHARON-anläggning i drift. SHARON står för ?Stable High rate Ammonia Removal Over Nitrite? och är en kvävereningsprocess för rejektvatten utvecklad av Grontmij i samarbete med Tekniska universitetet i Delft.I denna studie har SHARON-processen i Linköping undersökts.

Persistent pink in beef patties and hamburgers is a problem in the meat industry that has been known for a few decades. It is a costly problem as it can give rejections of food by consumers. Studies around the world have tried to solve the problem but it still remains a mystery. There are many different theories of what is causing the red colour. Some of the most likly theories are reducing hemocromes, high microbiological loads, contamination of Nitrite or organic/non organic substanses, DFD meat etc.

Från att ha tolkats som ett skadligt ämne i kroppen har det gått till att möjligen kunna hjälpa hjärtsjuka patienter och även optimera idrottsutövande. Kvävemonoxid bildas i kroppen naturligt med hjälp av syre, men det kan även bildas utan syre genom intag av nitrat som hittas i många grönsaker.
