Metso Paper offers a front-running range of solutions and services for the pulp and paper industry. At the baling unit, design solutions are developed for manufacturing and handling of pulp bales. The machines are continuously developed to satisfy customer needs. One big step in the development of the baling line was to remove Hydraulics from the machines and replace it with electrical motors and pneumatics. This was not done on the folding machine which is still driven by mainly Hydraulics.

Vilket i sin tur innebär en större arbetsbelastning på räddningspersonal i form av större och tyngre verktyg.Med ovanstående faktorer i åtanke behandlar följande arbete vidareutvecklingen av ett hydrauliskt räddningsverktyg, med användare och olycksoffer i fokus, för företaget NIKE Hydraulics AB i Eskilstuna..

The basis of the study lies with a newly patented gearbox by cardiologist and inventor Stig Lundbäck. Stig founded CorPower Ocean AB to further develop the gearbox to be used in a wave energy device. The purpose of this project is to develop a concept of a lifting system with CorPower Oceans gearbox that is more energy efficient than a hydraulic lifting system. The goal is to use technology from CorPower Oceans gearbox inversely to perform heavy lifting as an alternative to Hydraulics. The project is limited to applying the gearbox and gear rack on a forklift with a lifting capacity of ten tons.The main tool in this project will be the product development process Systems Engineering where only the most relevant parts will be used to develop a concept.

Möjligheter att reducera vikten på en hydraulmotor, som tillverkas på Parker Hannifin AB i Trollhättan, har studerats. Målet med arbetet var att ge förslag på hur motorn kan göras lättare för att nå det framtida målet att erbjuda kunder en lättviktsmotor (LWM) lämpad som fläktmotor.För att identifiera komponenterna och deras vikter vägdes alla delar var för sig. Värdena visade att trumhus, lagerhus, axel och lagerpaket stod för ca 75 % av motorns totala vikt. Arbetet koncentrerades därför på att reducera vikten på dessa delar.Flera koncept togs fram med lägre vikt och bibehållen prestanda. Vissa delar kontrollerades mot hållfasthet med handberäkningar och FEM-analyser.

Denna rapport är ett inledande steg mot att förbättra arbetsmiljön för svetsare vid påsvetsning med Uddcomb Metoden i massakokare. Syftet med rapporten är att analysera problemet med värme och dålig luft samt förklara hur och varför problemet uppstår. I arbetet ingår även att ta fram olika lösningar för att slutligen hitta ett komplett system för ventilation och kylning. Den föreslagna lösningen består av ett integrerat kylsystem och ett koncept med mindre fläktar, kallade torpeder, som monteras på arbetsplanen vilka driver ut varm och smutsig luft snabbare ur kokaren. Den föreslagna lösningen utreds även ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv.

Real-time systems are required to answer to external stimuli within a specified time-period. For this to be possible, the systems behaviour must be predictable. The use of active databases in real-time systems introduces unpredictability in the system, e.g. due to their use of active rules. The behaviour in active databases is usually specified in ECA-rules.

Haldex Barnes Hydraulics (HBH) is a company which produces hydraulic aggregates for use in forklifts, construction equipment, and trucks. The last two years the company has expanded. This has lead to an insufficient production of aggregates. Thus wishes HBH to increase their production without making to large investments.This report includes a now-state analysis of the problems and where they are. From this a further analysis of possible improvements are made.HBH works mainly with assembling and this is made manually.

In this thesis a concept for floor hatches for foam pits has been developed. Since there is an existing solution that is powered by Hydraulics and is expensive, the goal was to develop a cheaper solution, as simple as possible.A number of different concepts were developed and evaluated. A concept with five sections that are pulled to the side and stacked on each other was chosen as it was thought to have the lowest risk of crush injuries and to be easiest to manage and control. In the opening behind the foam mattress a lifting table is placed to regulate the height of the stacked sections.To be allowed to be installed in the floor of sports halls the sections must be dimensioned according to the construction standards for these types of buildings. Different dimensions of beams in steel and wood materials were evaluated and of those, who lived up to the requirements of the standard, a concept was chosen.

Dagens garagedomkrafter är svåra att förflytta, där positionering ofta kräver många manuella rörelser och relativt höga manuella krafter. I samarbete med REHOBOT Hydraulics AB utfördes ett projekt fokuserat på att underlätta förflyttningen av garagedomkrafter. Enligt uppdraget ska detta lösas med hjälp av pneumatik som skapar en lufthinna mellan domkraftens undersida och golvet. Detta innebär en konstruktionslösning med mycket låg friktion, vilket i sin tur möjliggör enkel manuell förflyttning av domkraften utan riktningskrav.En förstudie utfördes som undersökte konkurrerande garagedomkrafter, ljudergonomi, kvaliteten på verkstadsgolv samt metoder för att bära en massa med hjälp av aerostatik. Funktionsmodeller skapades utifrån de aerostatiska metoderna.

Membrane bioreactors (MBR) combined with biological phosphorous treatment (Bio-P) has been investigated if that could be an alternative to the future expansion with conventional active sludge treatment at Lundåkra wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the proximity of Landskrona, Sweden.The results showed that the surface demand in the biological treatment will be reduced with 67% with the MBR-alternative compared to a conventional activated sludge process. The nutrient removal in the MBR-solution was decreased or unchanged for nitrogen-, phosphorous- and organic parameters. However, the energy demand will increase with an estimated cost of approximately 1 million SEK annually. Moreover, the extra chemical consumption is estimated to cost 370 000 SEK annually.The disturbances caused by filamentous bacteria such as sludge dispersal could be resolved with MBR-technology because the membranes are not affected by these organisms. The Bio-P process combined with MBR-technology works if the wastewater recirculates from the membranes to an aerobic zone.In the proposal, there will be a new pre-treatment step, for instance hole screens.

This Master Thesis is a product development project that has been carried out incooperation with Metso Paper Sundsvall AB. The task has been to develop a holdingsolution that generates force between two rolls and to evaluate the new solution withrespect to functionality, manufacturing, structural stability, costs, assembly etc. Theroll holding solution is a system that is part of a rollpress. The rollpress is used towash and dewater pulp. The existing solution creates forces that have to be absorbedby the gable of the press.

GBD-Storage Systems is a company that provides the industries with products for efficient storage.The company produces pallet racks and accessories like cassettes and extending units. The companyhas also supplied tire racks for a number of tire companies. The company's CEO Gunnar Berglund hasfor some time had an idea to improve the working situation of the workers on tire firms by allowingthe wheels to be handled by a counterbalance truck. The current situation poses numerous heavy liftswhen the tires are handled and therefore is hurting the workers.This thesis has been aiming at helping the GBD-Storage Systems by developing a concept of howan accessory to counterbalanced trucks can be designed to cope with the wheels. This concept willthen be produced as prototype by the company.

Sunfab Hydraulics AB utvecklar och tillverkar hydrauliska pumpar och motorer i Hudiksvall. Just nu pågår ett stort projekt, LM-100tusen, vars mål är att skapa kapacitet att montera 100 000 produkter per år senast 2015. Det är en fördubbling av dagens produktion.Målet med detta examensarbete var att hitta förbättringsförslag, som tillsammans med hela projekt LM-100tusen leder till att monteringsavdelningen har kapacitet att montera 100 000 produkter per år senast 2015. För att uppnå detta mål kartlades först den nuvarande monteringsprocessen vad gäller materialflöde och materialhantering, från en värdeskapande synpunkt. Med hjälp av kartläggningen identifierades förbättringsbehov varpå ett antal förbättringsförslag formulerades.
