The purpose of this study is to examine how some early year pupils define Homework, how much Homework they get and also how these pupils perceive that they are affected by the Homework. The study is qualitative where ten pupils participated in a semi structured interview. The study will show that these pupils are given Homework once a week. The Homework is mostly math and reading. The study will continue to show that the pupils believe that Homework is important for their learning and also that Homework often is boring and that it competes with recreational activities such as friends, sports and rest.

Elevers negativa inställning till läxor : En studie om elevers attityder till läxor i årskurs sex

The aim in this essay is to investigate students? attitudes to Homework in grade six, and closerstudy the attitudes of the students who think Homework is difficult and boring. I have chosento investigate and find out why Homework is perceived as boring and cumbersome for somestudents in sixth grade. I hope to identify the aspects that contribute to the negativeconsequences that arise in connection with the Homework. The following questions are usedto make the study: Do some students experience Homework as boring and difficult? Do somestudents get any form of support at home, if so, how do students perceive the support fromhome? ?This is a study of two school extern Homework activities dedicated to helping students with their Homework. The questions at issue are 1) how are the Homework activities organized when it comes to financing, planning, marketing and implementation? 2) Who participates as staff as well as students and what are the requirements for participants? 3) What are the reasons for students to attend school external Homework sessions? Material was gathered by a survey among the students at the activities and by interviews with principals for each activity. Two main findings are that the Homework activities are almost exclusively visited by students with immigrant background and that the main reasons for participating are difficulties with the Swedish language, and parents not being able to help their children with Homework.

AbstractHomework is often debated in the media today. The question is about the meaning of Homework and whether the students benefit from it or if Homework is just a remain from an old educational system.The research made on the subject disagrees on what positive/negative effects the Homework has on the students.For my essay I chose to find out what attitude junior-level teachers have towards Homework. Why give students Homework? How do you work with home assignments?My research is based on interviews with six junior-level teachers that either have or do teach in the lower grades (1-3).The result I reached was the all of the teachers used Homework in their education.The purpose of the home assignments is partly to give the students the possibility to rehearse and fortify their knowledge, especially when it comes to learning how to read.Another purpose of the Homework is that it helps to maintain a good connection between the home and school. It is also a good way for the parents to get an insight and be a part of their children?s work.The conclusion of the research that I made is that if Homework should exist in the educational system they ought to be well prepared by the responsible teacher..

In addition, published surveys were used in support of reasoning.Results: Neither the curriculum or the syllabus mentions Homework. There are no directives for how much time should be dispensed with and the extent of a Homework should be. In teacher training literature the Homework is not discussed.

Läxan, en fråga om ideologi? : En kvalitativ studie av Folkpartiets och Vänsterpartiets syn på läxan

The purpose with this essay is to examine the Liberal Party and the Left Party´s views on Homework, if the parties considers that Homework affects the schools plan for equivalence and if the parties disagreement can be related to their different ideologies. To answer the purpose I have used following questions: How do the Liberal Party and the Left Party define the concept of Homework?, What is the purpose of Homework in primary schools according to the Liberal Party and the Left Party?, What are the arguments for and against Homework and do Homework affects the schools plan for equivalence according to the parties? and Can the parties' views on Homework be related to their respective ideologies? The method used is a qualitative textual analysis with focus on the idea analysis. The material consist of relevant newspaper articles, news and debate clips and the parties various party programs, during the time frame of 2006-05-31 - 2013-10-14. To answer the purpose I also used different types of discourse theories, equivalence theory and the ideologies liberalism and reformist socialism as theories.The results shows that the Liberal Party and the Left Party have different views about what a Homework should be considered as and that both parties thinks that Homework can affect the schools plan for equivalence, but they have different perceptions about how.

Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study was to illuminate and compare how teachers and parents are describing the Homework. The study will also attempt to answer these issues; How is the purpose of the Homework described from teachers and parents? How are the effects of the Homework described by teachers and parents? How do teachers and parents describe the responsibility for the implementation of the Homework?Methods: Qualitative study, a comparison between teachers and parents description of the Homework phenomenon. The material that forms the discussion are fetched from blog forums.Summary of conclusions: The Swedish school system is based on democratic values. This means that the students are supposed to gain equal opportunity for qualified education independent of their socioeconomic backgrounds.

Varför läxor? : En studie om några mellanstadielärares tankar om och syfte med läxor

The aim of my study is to get an idea of how some teachers use Homework, what they consider a good Homework is, and what considerations they take to the students' home circumstances. I have made a qualitative interview study with four middle school teachers. The results of my study show that teachers can flip the classroom and use so-called preparatory tasks. The time saving aspect is a strong reason they choose that model. That students are able to practice their own responsibility and perform meaningful Homework seems to also be in focus, but the biggest reason they use flipped classrooms seems to be because it is a more equivalent Homework then traditional Homework, and that students and their guardians also appreciate the flipped classroom model as they become more involved in their children's schoolwork..

AbstractIn the research made on the subject, Homework, there are a lot of differences in the opinions regarding the meaning of Homework/home assignments in the educational system today. Do they fill a purpose or do they only create social rifts and injustice.For my essay I chose to find out what attitude senior-level teachers have towards Homework and what meaning it is considered to have on the students learning ability.My research is based on interviews with six senior-level teachers who all teach different subjects.The results showed that all of the interviewed teachers used some kind of home assignments in their teaching.Ultimately, the conclusion I reached is that the Homework should be well prepared and given a lot of thought. In Sweden it is of major concern to the society that every individual get the same possibilities to be able to complete and affect their education. Despite this some students with a foreign background have difficulties when it comes to Homework?s. This is contrary to the goals that the government strives for, which is a more just society. The aim of this study is to analyze five elementary schoolteacher?s experiences and attitudes against the Homework for students with two languages.
