Skördemetoder av industrihampa :

Hemp is an old agricultural plant and has been used for hundreds of years for making textiles, ropes and other fibre products. In the middle of the last century the Swedish government prohibited all growing of Hemp. Natural fibres were replaced by syntetic fibres instead. Today there is a newly awakened interest for using natural fibres from renewable materials. Growing of industrial Hemp for fiber is allowed in Sweden again. I want in my Paper give Swedish growers an insight of which harvesting methods that have been tried in Sweden and how they worked.

Fröskörd av hampa : metoder och tekniker för fröskörd av industrihampa

Hemp is an ancient cultivated plant that came to Sweden in the 1st to 2nd Century and was particularly interesting for use for food, clothing and building materials. Over time, other applications have been developed for Hemp, e.g. in energy and health products. Interesting new uses for Hemp continue to be identified and this fascinating plant has incredibly versatile applications. In this project, seed production of industrial Hemp in Sweden was studied and evaluated. Five different methods are described, four of which are proven under Swedish conditions.

Prefabricerade väggelement av hampabetong

Lime Hempcrete consists of lime, water and Hemp and creates an insulating, sound-absorbing, lightweight and environmentally friendly material that can be used in wall, roof and floor structures (Bevan & Woolley 2008). This construction method is not yet developed in Sweden as there has been a ban on the cultivation of the Hemp plant. This ban on the cultivation of Hemp was removed in 2003, when the material got a boost. You can use it in many different ways and not just in the construction industry (Ahlsten, 2010).In this study we have investigated the possibility to produce prefabricated wall elements of LHC. We have also studied its mechanical properties and dehydration time.

Gröna utsikter : En analys av hampas (Cannabis sativa L.) förutsättningar som energigröda i Sverige

Hemp is a versatile plant with many uses that has been around for thousands of years. The plant is highly adaptable andwill cultivate in almost any soil. It has excellent remediation properties and has shown to be relatively consistent when itcomes to crop yields. The aim of this literature survey is to examine how Hemp can be used to be considered asustainable energy crop in Sweden through database searches and interviews. Hemps characteristics as an energy cropand its remediation properties is evaluated and compared with other plants that are used in Sweden.

Obtaining high quality textile fibre from industrial hemp through organic cultivation

AbstractThe urgency to find alternative fabrics to conventionally produced cotton is increasing as vast amounts of agrochemicals are used and a lot of irrigation is required. In this literature survey the potential of organic cultivation practices to produce highly qualitative Hemp fibre, suitable for the textile industry, was investigated. The definition of a fibre in the textile context as well as of the qualities that are essential for a textile fibre was necessary as a base for the discussion in this thesis. The quality parameters looked at were fineness, strength, length, friction, and colour. The impact of external growth factors and plant development on these quality properties are discussed.

Brikettillverkning på gårdsnivå :

In my work I have chosen to examine the profitability for small scale production of Hemp briquettes. My study also includes a review of which briquette technique that is the most common one among small scale producers. The reason that I have chosen this subject is because of the discussions about climate and energy that we face almost every day. I also think the subject is extra interesting in these days when the grain prizes are at a historic high level. In order for me to achieve a reliable report, a Hemp and briquette producer has given me the actual data from his farm. In that way I have been able to make my calculations from a concrete perspective.

Teknik för vårskörd av hampa till stråbränsle :

Hemp is an annual energy crop that fits very well in Swedish crop rotations. It is an interesting crop with many benefits, for example its ability to establish a large quantity of biomass in one year. Hemp is easy to grow and out-competes unwanted weeds through its aggressive growth pattern without the need for pesticides. Interest in growing Hemp and other energy crops is currently decreasing, apparently because of high grain prices. These high prices give a higher net profit that we believe could partly cover the cost of Hemp cultivation, while the Hemp in turn would improve the crop rotation and thus repay its debts in the form of increased yields of other crops. The great disadvantage of Hemp is the lack of knowledge about spring harvest of the crop.

Hampa i det svenska textilarvet : en studie i hur historia om textilföremål arrangeras i mellanrummet mellan natur och kultur

This essay is about the Swedish textile heritage but also with an analysis of handmade Hemp textiles from Transylvania. Plant fibers such as Hemp and flax grown in a soil nature that existed around the subsistence farm. The knowledge of the earth nature combined with textiles has not been specifically studied in the research from the last century. By examining simple folk textiles of Hemp shows how the textiles also are an universal field. The focus is on the raw material which is a transformation between nature and culture. With a phenomenological approach, the study will describe how the textile heritage announcement molds a territory in the interpretation of "our" Swedish plantfibres for textiles uses.

Effects of genotype, age and feed on the fat components of egg yolk

The aim of this study was to investigate if the hen?s genotype, age and diet affect fat components in egg yolk. The fat components measured were total fat content, phospholipids, cholesterol and the fatty acid profile. This trial involved 12 groups of laying hens housed in 8-hen cages enriched with perches, dust baths and nests. The genotype Lohmann Selected Leghorn (LSL) and the genotype Lohmann Brown (LB)was used.

Kläder i hampa - ett miljövänligt alternativ/komplement till bomull?

Hemp has been used for textiles for a long time in history until it became illegal to grow in many countries in the 1930s. It is interesting from an environmental point of view because it doesn?t need any pesticides and in most locations it doesn?t need any irrigation either, compared to cotton, which normally requires big amounts of both pesticides and water for irrigation. Hemp is a bast fiber, which means that the fibers are located on the bast of the stem (on the outer layer of the stem). Therefore they cannot be spun directly, they have to be removed from the stem first.

Alternativa stråbränslen i växtföljden :

The purpose of this report is to find out which crops, that are good for strawfuel, and can be grown i the area around the city of Lund. The background of this report it that Lunds energy is planning to bild a biofuelheated thermal power station in Örtofta outside of Lund. I have in the report limited me to the crops Hemp, whole crop (triticale), reed canary grass, elephant grass and jerusalem artichoke. I have through a documentary research checked the crops, cultivabillity in the south of Sweden, and how they should fit, in the Scanian crop sequence. Hemp is an annual crop which probably could manage in the Scanian crop sequence. Whole crop often triticale because of it´s high yield and low rate of shed seed. Could also fit into the crop sequence of crop in Scanian. Triticale is annual, and could be grown at the same kind of fields as used to wheat, whith is why it would be possible to grow it in Scania. Reed canary grass is a reedlike grass that is easy grown at most soils.

Vilken effekt har lärkrutor på ogräsfloran vid ekologisk höstveteodling? :

This study forms part of the R&D project "Improved survival of bird chicks in organic fields" managed by the Rural Economy & Agricultural society in Uppsala. The skylark (Alauda arvensis) is a species that has decreased drastically in Sweden as a consequence of more intensive cropping. Studies in England have shown that skylark reproduction can be greatly improved within conventional fields, at a low cost, by establishing patches of bare ground (skylark plots). Within conventional farming, herbicides can be used in case a weed problem arises due to implementation of these skylark plots, whereas this is not allowed in organic farming. This study examined the effects of skylark plots on the weed culture in organic autumn-sown (winter) cereals and whether weeds might cause long-term problems to farmers. The study was conducted in two parts; a field study and a review of the literature regarding the weeds observed. The field study was carried out in 2007 during three weeks in June and three weeks in July, on eleven organic fields with winter cereal in the vicinity of Uppsala.

Produktionskalkyler för biobränslen :

This study is one of five that has been done based on Lunds Energi?s planned investment in bioenergy. The plan is to build two large burners, at Örtofta, that?s going to be supplied with biofuels. In this study I take a closer look on the profitability when you choose to sell your cereal as bioenergy. I?ve been calculating with selling the straw from the grain crops and winter rape, selling the rye weat as whole crop and fertilize the Hemp with sewage sludge.

Några vanliga ogräs : en litteraturstudie av arternas biologi samt förebyggande och direkta kontrollåtgärder

The Swedish Board of Agriculture initiated this undergraduate thesis. There is a database on their homepage that includes chemical treatments for different weed species. There is also space for preventive and mechanical control methods. This is an undergraduate thesis that reviews these control methods for the most important weeds in Sweden. The species reviewed are: Creeping perennials: Common Couch Elytrigia repens (L.) Desv. ex Nevski Creeping Thistle Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop. Perennial Sow-thistle Sonchus arvensis L. Field Horsetail Equisetum arvense L. Colt's-foot Tussilago farfara L. Stationary perennials: Dock Rumex L. Mugwort Artemisia vulgaris L. Dandelion Taraxacum F.

Designprojektet BEDÅRANDE BARN AV SIN TID - Ett innovationsprojekt om material, traditioner och en arbetsmöbel

ADORABLE CHILD OF ITS TIMEThis text will describe a inovative project about material, traditions and someideas about furniture for work in an home inviroment. The content is partlyabout exploring ancient marine- and textile techniques to find somethinguseful for furniture of the twenty first century. It is also about the designprocess of creating a sustainable piece of furniture that questions the paradigmathicsabout usage and the context about manufacturing furniture. The text will briefly describe the design process and then reason about theresult in a deeper sense. Questions that has been considered from the verybeginning of the project as well as those one stumbled across during theevolution of the work will be objectives for the discussion. The result will bein focus as a foundation for the discussion and also the values and issuesabout that.
