Abstract Background Todays guidelines for advanced CPR emphasize chest compressions with good quality and early defibrillation. Prehospital CPR performed by ambulance crew, an automated external defibrillator (AED) is used. The AED analyzes the heart rhythm and the performer is following the advice to chock the heart or not, given by the AED. During on-going CPR there are sequences when no chest compression is performed known as hands-off time. Hands-off time includes the time for the AED to analyze the heart rhythm and the time when advice is given to the crew.

The hypocrisy of democracy is to help autocratic rulers to stay in power because it benefits their own country. This thesis examines how the United States of America justified their cooperation with the Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi during the period of 1953-1979, until he was overthrown by his own people. This case-study doesn´t make general conclusions about the US foreign policy towards other countries except Iran.The theoretical starting point for the empirical analysis is the political dilemma of dirty hands. With the analytical instrument, constructed with a normative analysis about the concept of dirty hands, it´s possible to discover which ethical discipline the American presidents had to uphold to justify their actions.There are three different aspects of their cooperation which are lifted in this thesis. The first one is about the circumstances that made them begin their cooperation, the second regards the features of the cooperation.

Research indicates that a more hands-on education in mathematics could improve how students relate to mathematics. Laboratory mathematics is a way of making mathematics more concrete.  How is the purpose of laboratory mathematics perceived? This thesis has its focus on the pupils? perceptions of the purpose of laboratory mathematics, but the intention of the teacher involved is also investigated. The main research questions asked were:What is the teacher's definition of laboratory mathematics?Which is the teacher's purpose in using laboratory education?How do the students perceive the purpose of the laboratory teaching of mathematics?To answer the questions, I conducted a series of qualitative interviews.

Test har utförts för att jämföra två huvudburna displayer (HMD), Penny Interactive Glasses och Sony Glastron, med traditionella displaymetoder för att presentera information i stridsfordon. Testen innehöll ett antal scenarion kring två olika aktiviteter. Testen har utförts i en simulerad miljö bestående av ett antal datorer, en mock-up av ett fordon och en projektor. Testresultat har utvärderas med Nasa TLX, vilket är ett program för uppskattning av arbetsbörda. Enkla test utfördes för att se hur ljusnivån påverkade användandet av HMD utomhus och om enkla filterlösningar var tillräckliga för att lösa problemen. Fokus i testen låg på en HMD från Penny som hade några intressanta hands-free lösningar för att styra applikationer. En bedömning gjordes av hur väl dessa lösningar fungerade och vad, om något, som behövde förbättras för att detta skulle vara praktiskt användbart. Förutom att göra en bedömning av om HMD:er är en lösning som faktiskt underlättar arbetet i ett stridsfordon har vi också försökt komma fram till några förslag på hur de skulle kunna förbättras inom områden så som passform och användarvänlighet. Vi kom fram till att HMD-lösningar potentiellt kan fungera bättre än nuvarande lösningar om de används på rätt sätt.

Detta examensarbete undersöker balansen mellan frihet och struktur i informationsförmedlingen i en utställning som bygger på hands on-pedagogik. Arbetet har utgått från utställningen Människokroppen vid Tom Tits Experiment i Södertälje. Utställningen som byggdes 1997, har utformats med en tanke om att skyltar skapar hinder och en motvillighet om att skylta om "rätt sätt".Utställningsytan har idag komprimerats och experimenten har grupperats i två avdelningar. I samband med denna förändring har skyltningen i utställningen kommit att ses över. Detta eftersom föräldrar och andra vuxna besökare utryckt en önskan om mer information.

Cnior Mobile AB i Lindesberg utvecklar en mobil trygghetstelefon för äldre. Detta examensarbete går ut på att utforma en handsfree-enhet för denna. Handsfree-enheten ska integreras i larmknappen, som bärs av användaren runt handleden, och har kontakt med telefonen via blåtandsradio. I examensarbetet ingår att välja ut lämplig högtalare och mikrofon, hitta lösningar för smuts- och vattentålighet samt att lösa problem med ekon och bakgrundsstörningar.En högtalare hittades som uppfyllde kraven för smuts- och vattentålighet samtidigt som den hade utmärkt frekvensgång för återgivning av tydligt tal. Vattenavrinning från högtalaren löstes genom att ett sinussvep sänds ut från högtalaren varje gång ett samtal ska kopplas upp.

Uppsatsen undersöker det grafiska och estetiska uttrycket från klassiska spel ur genren shoot?em up, och hur man som grafiker, art director eller speldesigner kan överföra delar av detta uttryck till ett modernt spel skapat med andra förutsättningar. I work on a lighting design for a dance performance to be on tour. A lighting design adapted for three different conditions was made: - One comprehensive where I allow myself a great deal of creative freedom, adapted for the stages with major technical conditions. - One smaller version for stages with less equipment and with less time for preparation on site. - One design for very simple conditions. I also examine the specific differences between typical theatrical lighting design and typical dance lighting design, and the best way to prepare for the hands-on stage design phase..

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect the Nazi threat had on the swedish labour movement between 1932 and 1939 and to enrich what kind of pre-understanding they had about the fall of the Weimar Republic and the upcoming and effects of the Third Reich.Brought by the development in Germany, a debate and struggle took place in the Social Democratic journal Tiden over the meaning of concepts and there ability, in the hands of demagogs, to overthrow democratic structures. The concept of socialism and its concepts attribute play a major part in this investigation. By establishing fields of tension such as - nation vs internationalism, socialism in theory and in practice, political democracy vs evolved democracy and the diverse principles of neutrality, the first principle meaning the defending of national boarders, the other meaning not only defending your own country but taking an active part in defending democracy in the world - I was able to observe the movement and change of concepts within this fields. The result showing that the concept of socialism and near related attributes, in the hands of national socialists had undertaken a wast change of meaning, which applied in the Swedish debate threatened to undermine the power and force of the Social Democrats applied in the political discourse in Sweden. To defend itself and strengthening the Social Democratic hegemony as well as maintaining the goal of evolved democratic expansion, they were forced to win the confidence and votes of the middle class.

Detta är den avslutande rapporten som knyter ihop examinationsarbetet i kursen Y0009B vid Luleå tekniska universitet.Denna rapport behandlar i grova drag bakgrund, planering, uppbyggnad och färdig produkt av en ventilationskarta för underjordsgruvans ventilationssystem i Björkdal, framförallt för att ha till hands ur brandsäkerhetssynpunkt. Tankegångar med alternativa metoder och utformningar utifrån en tillsammans med berörda personer framtagen kravspecifikation finns behandlat i rapporten. Där framgår även vilken lösning och detaljnivå som valts för projektet i fråga. Syftet med denna studie är att på ta reda på vad en bra hands-on-artefakt för museum är och hur den bör utformas. En kvalitativ fallstudie är gjord på utställningen Sinnrika människan på Naturhistoriska riksmuseet. Empirin har fåtts fram genom korta intervjuer och observation med museibesökare samt djupgående intervjuer med personer insatta i ämnet. Resultatet har sedan både analyserats individuellt och korsanalyserats, efter detta har resultatet kategoriserats. Slutsatsen för studien visade att det är många aspekter som spelar in vid skapandet av en interaktiv station, en av de viktigaste aspekterna är tydlighet om vad syftet med stationen är och hur den utförs..

Shortselling and loan of shares are becoming a common complement to"traditional"trade in shares. To be able to lend shares, it is necessary to reregister the shares so that the shortseller is competent to sell these shares further. In a legal sense, the proprietorship of the shares has changed hands, though it is not obvious for those involved to see what happens to the prorietorship. The obscurity is principally whether a complete changeover of the proprietorship is made between those concerned. This essay makes clear which legal consequences loan of shares and shortselling get concerning the proprietorship, and how a conflict between the lender and the third party should be solved if the shortseller becomes bankrupt.
