This report deals with hard surfaces and the factors which are behind the criteria for dimensioning, also dependent on the level, or volume, of traffic. A test was made on slabs of two kinds of natural stone. This was made to see if the values that were reached for breakload was transferable to the same tables that the concrete industry is using for surface dimensions of slabs and paving stones. The test showed very high values and the result, together with the written study, led to the author?s suggestion for a classification table where slabs of natural stone were divided in to different classes depending on traffic, thickness and durability..

The purpose of this thesis is to examine a selection of ideological publishing houses in Sweden today. We want to examine where they are situated in the literary society, their terms and prerequisites. This is achieved through interviews with informants from each of the publishing houses, which we analyze with concepts from the culture sociologist Pierre Bourdieu. The publishing houses are also put in context through information from other actors in the literary field, together with previous research and other material about the Swedish book market. The main research problem in the thesis is to examine the relations between the selected publishing houses ? which profile themselves as ideological ? and the literary field where they exist.

Throughout the history, the theories which have shaped our cities have varied from time to time. We have gone from a city development characterized by spontaneousness, where commerce and people side by side shared the space, into a function-based planning where people and functions are being increasingly separated. Regardless the forms of planning the city design causes implications for those who live there when the physical environment controls were we live, work and meet. In today's society where `sustainability ' has become a watchword the current community planning needs to be questioned so we, in the best possible way, can meet future changes. Searching for new planning strategies is part of this and in this essay the term `mixed-use´ will be investigated and analyzed in terms of its social aspects.

Med dagens stora utbud av festivaler och det nya festivallandskapet som har va?xt fram de senaste a?ren finns det na?got fo?r alla som a?r intresserade. Syftet a?r att med hja?lp av kvalitativa intervjuer fo?rso?ka definiera vad det a?r som go?r en festival intressant fo?r vissa och helt ointressant fo?r andra och hur detta kan kopplas samman med Bourdieus teori om habitus.

Syftet för följande examensarbete var att undersöka möjligheterna att tillämpa en viss kallmurad stödmur i Sverige. Muren har fått en stor spridning i Norge, och används där både i vägmiljöer, stadsmiljöer och som stödmur för att ta upp landskapets varierande nivåer. I Sverige existerar inte den här typen av mur. Om muren har fått så stor användning i Norge, varför kan den då inte byggas i Sverige? Muren byggs av större råhuggna och rektangulära granitblock som staplas på varandra med hjälp av grävmaskin och genom blockens tyngd erhålls en stabil konstruktion.

Sammanfattning Ogräs i stadsmiljön har varit ett växande problem de senaste tio åren. Orsakerna till detta är främst att användningen av kemiska bekämpningsmedel har blivit begränsad, samt att resurserna till skötsel och underhåll av de hårdgjorda ytorna har minskat. Under vår utbildning har vi berört de kostnader som uppstår vid regelbundna skötselinsatser. Det har gjort oss uppmärksamma på att ogräs kan ta en stor del av skötselbudgeten för företag och kommuner om man vill hålla en hög skötselstandard. Under utbildningen och i den litteratur vi läst fokuseras det mycket på att bekämpa ogräs ? väldigt lite handlar om vad man kan göra i förebyggande syfte.
