Arbetet handlar om huruvida man kan få till ett meningsfullt lärande genom att använda sig av metoden PBL, problembaserat lärande, i grundskolan. Jag gör en kort presentation av lärande under 1900-talet för att därefter koncentrera mig på tre pedagoger, Marton, Säljö och Dewey. Utifrån dessa tre pedagogers syn på lärande undersöker jag PBL. Jag beskriver hur metoden PBL fungerar och hur den är uppbyggd. Mycket i PBL överensstämmer med vad Marton, Säljö och Dewey anser vara ett lärande som ger bra resultat.

Swedish libraries are currently discussing andimplementing the classification system Dewey (DDC).Most libraries in Sweden have used the Swedishclassification system SAB until recently. In 2008 TheRoyal Library of Sweden (KB) decided to switch fromSAB to DDC. Many academic libraries chose to followKB?s example and by January 2011 a switch was made atKB and at many academic libraries.The aim of this master thesis is to examine and analysethe library sector?s discussion that occurred before andduring the Swedish switch from SAB to DDC. The mainquestion asked is; What is being discussed about Dewey2010-2011 and in what manner? To organize and anlysethis discussion discourse analysis is used.

The study's aim is to create an understanding for the question why Sweden in 1921chose to create its own classification system for public libraries instead of adapting e.g.the Dewey-system which - at this time - was internationally we11 spread. It examines thesocial changes which proceeded the creation of the Swedish Library Association (SLA)in 1915 and discusses in depth the work of the committee appointed by SLA to createthe classification system. Special interest is also given to the relation between SLACSand the Dewey-system.The study shows that the main influence on the codttee's work was the formerSwedish tradition of classification practice. The Dewey-system was seen as inappropriateto adapt in the Swedish libraries because of the vast changes that wouldhave to be done, and the fact that the decimal notation was practically unused in anylibraries in Sweden.From a methodological point of view, the study tries to apply a critical hermeneuticalapproach as developed by Paul Ricoeur.The study contains an extended English summary..

In November 2008 the National Library of Sweden decidedto switch classification system from SAB to Dewey decimalclassification. SAB had then been the main classificationsystem in the whole of the Swedish library field for 87 years.Included into the decision was not just the nationalbibliography but also the research libraries of Sweden. Thisdecision was in alignment with a West European tendency tochange in favor of the internationally well-spreadclassification system Dewey in order to co-operate more inthe cataloguing process. The purpose of this study takenplace in the autumn and winter of 2013 is to examine howlibrarians involved in the transition feel about what differentways the implementation has affected the research libraryorganizations. We also aim to study the librarians? view onthe involvement of the research libraries into the decision ofthe changeover.

One of the main reasons for this decison was that Kungliga biblioteket also has made an exchange between these systems. Due to that, the national bibliography of Sweden classifies Swedish documents according to Dewey Decimal Classification and the SAB system is no longer maintained. A transition to Dewey Decimal Classification will enable Swedish librarians to import foreign catalouge posts and classification codes and will provide them with a common standard between their libraries and other libraries due to the use of the same international classification system. It is disputed whether the Dewey Decimal Classification is equally suitable for all subjects.

Dewey och Piaget menade att undervisningen måste organiseras så att eleven står i centrum. Elevens intressen och behov måste få styra innehållet i undervisningen. Problemlösning, individualisering, undersökande arbetssätt och medbestämmande var saker de förespråkade. Det tematiska arbetssättet är ett försök att organisera undervisningen utifrån en ämnesövergripande rubrik istället för att utgå från de klassiska ämnena. I mitt examensarbete har jag gjort ett försök att beskriva hur man inom ett arbetslag på en skola arbetat med tema, vilka problem man haft, vilka de stora skillnaderna mellan tema och traditionell undervisning är och vilka kunskaper man når.

Syftet med mitt examensarbete är att få förståelse för John Deweys pedagogik och dess nutida betydelse i relation till en grupp lärares uppfattning om pedagogik, undervisning och demokrati. Syftet är också att utröna huruvida yrkeslärare och ämneslärare skiljer sig åt i dessa av-seenden. För att uppnå mitt syfte har jag valt att göra en kvalitativ studie. Jag har då använt mig av enkäter med ett antal frågeställningar och har även genomfört några intervjuer. Resultatet visar vissa skillnader mellan de olika lärarkategorierna vad gäller sättet att undervisa.

John Dewey föddes år 1859, samma år som Charles Darwin bröt ny mark för människan genom sin Theory of Species. Genom Darwin skulle grunden för det kollektiva mänskliga tänkandet och förståelsen av oss själva aldrig förbli detsamma. För Dewey precis som för Darwin är det förståelsen av människan och hennes värld som är det intressanta.Denna uppsats är en närläsning av Deweys verk Demokrati och utbildning som publicerades för första gången 1916. Verket som är skrivet på tidigt 1900-tal har haft ett stort inflytande på pedagogiskt tänkande generellt, men är också ett av de verkligt intressanta arbetena rörande människan och utbildningens roll för det demokratiska samhället. Verket är av idémässigt fundamental betydelse för den filosofiska tanketradition som kallas pragmatism då Dewey fångar upp den bärande idén om människan i samhället som en del av världen och som beroende av en bra utbildning.Uppsatsen har för avsikt att förmedla och tolka de tankegångar som Dewey låter framträda i Demokrati och utbildning.

THE PAINTING CHILD. A DISCOURSE ANALYSIS OF AESTHETIC PROCESSES OF LEARNING IN RELATION TO Dewey´S ART AS EXPERIENCE.The aim of this study is to present a discourse analysis made on five-year-old children during art activities in a preschool in Sweden. The questions asked are: how does interaction take place between the children, or the child and the teacher, during art activities? And what does this tell us about the relationship to art in preschool? In Art as Experience John Dewey claims that art is separated from other experiences of life, but that it ought to be close to ordinary life-experiences. Today visual culture is important in society but not in school.

Denna studie med titeln "Vad är kunskap? - en kvalitativ studie av synen på kunskap i skola och utbildning hos John Dewey och i tidskriften Skola och Samhälle 1946 -1962" är en studie där undersökningens fokus var att beskriva synen på kunskap i skola och utbildning med textanalys som metod, där tryckta källor ligger till grund för resultatet. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilken syn på kunskap i skola och utbildning som kommer till uttryck i skrifter författade av John Dewey samt i artiklar från tidskriften Skola och Samhälle mellan åren 1946 ? 1962. I analysarbetet använde jag mig av teorier om kunskap och egna frågeställningar om kunskapssyn.

School activities are under constant discussion. This literatur study examines student participation and its relationship to democracy mission and the factors that contribute to students marginalized in school. The study also intends to examine the relationship between intersektionall analysis and the limitation of opportunities for student participation in school. The study results problematize the relationship between student participation and school democracy quests, this by highlighting the challenges and difficulties the school faces. Our results also strengthen the relationship between the study theory and marginalization of students and the limitation of opportunities for student participation..

The purpose of this thesis is to study the relationship between the definition and bibliographical classification of a certain academic subject; social anthropology. The theoretical framework consists of views held in Information Science regarding the definition and classification of subjects. The methodological onset is based on hermeneutical concepts that allow an extended analysis of abstract structures of thought. This analysis comprises of two parts; a descriptive analysis and a comparative analysis. The result of the descriptive analysis, whose aim is to describe the academic subject social anthropology, shows that this is not easy to define, instead it is nowadays almost the same as cultural anthropology.

This master?s thesis focus on Dewey Decimal Classification during the period 1932 to 2011, where the classification of the psychological knowledge domain is analyzed and discussed. In the light of the recent swedish switch from the swedish classification system SAB to DDC, this research area deserves prominence. The aim of this study is to investigate how DDC represents the historical development of the psychology subject with its underlying epistemology, to identify and analyze values and prejudice, and to analyze problems with DDC?s classification of psychology in relation to three other classification systems.

Syftet med detta examensarbete var att undersöka användandet av drama som pedagogiskt verktyg i gymnasieskolans undervisning och elevers attityder till det. För att ta reda på detta användes en enkätundersökning bestående av kvalitativa och kvantitativa frågor på en gymnasieskola i Mellansverige. Resultatet från undersökningen visar att drama som pedagogiskt verktyg upplevs ha flera olika effekter för eleverna, både pedagogiskt som individuellt. Slutsatsen är således att drama inte bara är ett verktyg förbehållet läraren för att skapa en lustfylld undervisning utan drama är också ett betydelsefullt redskap som elever kan använda för sin sociala och emotionella utveckling..
