Data sets are continuously increasing within organizations. Data sets will also be in larger amounts,have shorter lifetime, is becoming more varied and holds various degrees of uncertainty. Together,these dimensions are included in the term Big Data. There is no universally accepted definition ofBig Data and how it should be used. Applications that turn out to be part of a Big Data conceptoften begin as investments in an organization in order come to new insights or create new businessperspectives.

I denna uppsats undersöks vilka funktioner som är implementerade i organisationers Data mining-verktyg. De funktioner som undersöks, är identifierade i litteraturstudier om Data mining och Datalager. I uppsatsen beskrivs vad ett Datalager är, samt mer ingående vad Data mining innebär. Fallstudien har skett genom kvalitativa djupintervjuer med respondenter från fyra olika organisationer, där respondenterna arbetar som expertanvändare av Data mining-verktygen. Slutsatsen i denna uppsats är att organisationernas Data mining-verktygen inte har alla funktioner, som identifierats, implementerade och att funktionerna skiljer sig mycket mellan organisationernas Data mining-verktyg..

Vad har svenska företag för syn på sovande data och hur hanterar svenska företag sovande data med avseende på identifiering och lagring?

Validering av Inertial Measurment Units som insamlare av data för drivande av OpenSim-modell

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the possibility of replacing Data from highspeed filming (Qualisys motion capture) with Data from Inertial Measurement Units (X-io technologies), when used to run a model of torso and pelvis in OpenSim. Qualisys motion capture Data is used as the golden standard to validate the result visually and with Bland-Altman plots.In order to obtain comparable Data experiments are conducted where both methods of collecting Data are used simultaneously. Data from the IMU's then need to be processed in Matlab before it can be used to run the OpenSim modell. Several Matlab programs rotate the IMU Data to a static reference frame, filter and integrate it, then create viritual markers that correspond to Qualisys' optical markers.The conclusion is that using IMU as a method for collecting Data can replace Qualisys in some applications, but not in ones that require high precision. However, this paper only begins the examination of IMU's and there are most likely improvements to be made..

Syftet med denna studie är att utreda begreppen big Data och analytics. Utifrån vetenskapliga teorier om begreppen undersöks hur konsultföretag uppfattar och använder sig av big Data och analytics. För att skapa en nyanserad bild har även en organisation inom vården undersökts för att få kunskap om hur de kan dra nytta av big Data och analytics. Ett antal viktiga svårigheter och framgångsfaktorer kopplade till båda begreppen presenteras. De svårigheterna kopplas sedan ihop med en framgångsfaktor som anses kunna bidra till att lösa det problemet.

The study herein will focus on what a Data warehouse is and how the ETL process is used for Data storage in the Data warehouse. ETL stands for Extract, Transform and Load and is the process that retrieves Data, transforms it and finally loads it into the Data warehouse.

Visualisering av Flight Recorder-data i Saab 2000 avionikrigg

The main purpose of a Flight Data Recorder (FDR) is to facilitate the investigation of incidents. In order to interpret the Data that has been recorded in the FDR the Data has to be visualized in some way. This can be done with software on a computer or with hardware that is specific for the model of aircraft that the Data originates from.The aim of this project is to visualize Data for six parameters from the FDR of Saab 2000 in an avionics rig. The avionics rig resembles the cockpit of Saab 2000 and the displays in it are identical to the ones found in the plane. All six parameters are shown on the same display.Due to safety regulation vital systems in aircraft are doubled, with one system on the left side and one on the right.

The purpose of our essay is to investigate the trust in accountants. The method we used to investigate the trust was a survey and a questionnaire was used to collect the Data. The Data was gathered from three different groups, shareholders, lenders and tax authority. When we analysed the Data we found out that the groups trust in accountants were neither strong nor weak. The results can be generalized on all the three groups because the observations were scattered around the means and we used random selection to collect the Data.

Platt Hierarki : Metoder för omvandling av relationsdata till hierarkisk data

The relational Database model was defined in the 1970?s and is the dominating Database type today.  The main difference between Data from a relational Database and a hierarchical Data structure is that the relational Database stores records in tables. The records have no particular order, but can include links in terms of relationships with other records. A hierarchical structure organizes Data in the form of a tree structure  and  can for an example be found in organizational structures in which different levels involves different responsibilities. If the Data stored in a relational Database is to be presented in a hierarchically, a conversion of the Data structure is required. The intention of this paper is to describe how such a conversion can be performed.  To investigate the conversion methods, case studies has been conducted on the basis of a specific organization?s hierarchical structure.

Förbättrar en kvalitetssäkring skördarens dimensionsmätning?

In this study it was investigated if the adoption of a new routine for quality control could improve the precision of the dimension measurement obtained by harvesters. Data was collected from three different harvesters. First, a reference Data set was collected before the new procedures had been incorporated, and then when the new methodology was implemented another Data set was collected by the harvester operators, allowing the two Data set to be compered. The results indicated that following the implementation of the new procedures, the reliability and the precision of the measurements has increased. All harvesters included in the study had improved regarding most of the controlled factors such as standard deviation, systematic difference and hit rate within ± 2 cm for length and ± 4 mm for diameter..
