This thesis advances an explicit, consequent, and wholesome ethnomethodological perspective on brand Community. It recognizes brand Community as a social problem ? something to be continuously solved and achieved. The two main perceivably stable features of the Nikonian Community are (1) practical usefulness and (2) the social link. The authors suggest that both features are constantly accomplished through three types of aggregate behaviour (1) lurking, (2) ordinary membership, and (3) Community citizenship behaviour (CCB).

The aim of this study is to identify and analyze the discourse within a gothic online Community and examine how they use significant symbols to create themselves as goths and being part of a Community. In order to achive this aim, eleven different forum threads were examined to amalyze how the goths created their significant symbols within the online Community and through interaction with each other. The results implies that the discourse within the Community describes the goths as either true or false goths and that it is important to maintain this boundary.

Propose/Aim: The aim of this thesis is to examine the professional role of the Community Manager working for gaming companies. The thesis will examine which background and previous experience a Community Manager should have and the tasks included in the assignment to see how this new role can contribute to the development of gaming companies.Material/Method: The method used in this study is of a qualitative character. The data has been gathered through e-mail interviews with five people working as Community Managers in the gaming business and in addition, through a textual analysis of five job advertisements. The results were analyzed on the basis of carefully selected theories in the field of strategic communication.Main results: The main result of this study is that the Community Manager's most important task is to act as a link between the players and the game developers by communicating with both sides. The Community Manager can receive important feedback from the players which can contribute to the game development. .

This work is a study in how I as a designer can create the conditions for people to work, socializing and refreshments at one place. A place that encourages creativity, where I made a suggestion at a Community table designed for Urban Deli?s new business. By visiting various similar sites I have identified what I think is important in an environment like this and then gave an answer to it in a visual form.A cafe-office will draw lots of different people. Which guests come here to work? Residents, freelancers, but also those who may want surrounded by a new creative work place and maybe leave their regular offices for a day at Urban Deli.

Aim: The aim of this study is to understand why people have changed their preferred Community over time. What are the main factors when changing to a new one?Method/material: The method has consisted of personal interviews with six different people in the ages between 20-22 and of different gender. The main material that has been used in this essay is the theory of Uses and Gratifications as explained by Denis McQuail, the theory of Convergence culture by Henry Jenkins and the theory about Communites of Practice by Etienne Wenger.Main results: This study shows a heavy affection that the use of communities often centers round the people around the Community, rather than the functions that the communities themselves provides. Having people that you know on the Community you choose is a vital part for people or at least having the support of other people and changing to another Community at the same time.

Idén med att skapa en Community för pensionärer föddes under hösten 2005 av dåvarande generaldirektören vid Statens pensionsverk (SPV). Denne kontaktade Mittuniversitetet i Sundsvall för att skapa en lättan-vänd och syftesuppfyllande Community för pensionärer. Min uppgift har varit att utforma denna Community med fokus på slutanvändaren. Uppgiften utgick från en kravanalys som tagits fram av forskare vid Mittuniversitet. Utifrån kravanalysen har ett användargränssnitt skapats enligt standarder för webbutveckling för dem som har ett funktionshinder.

The purpose with this essay has been to describe and understand why youth Community service became a penalty in Sweden. The political discourse in which youth Community service was established has been analyzed with Laclau & Mouffe´s discourse theory. A social constructivist onset and a discourse analysis were the methodological tools of the essay. The result is two folded. Youth Community service was created to strengthen the constitutional state, combined with high beliefs of the social services competence.

The aim of the thesis is to illustrate how a group of Community policing officers makes themselves relevant to their Community, this in relation to wider organizational circumstances and exterior structures of society. In the 1940s the Swedish town planning was inspired by the English city development with the concepts of neighbourhood and Community planning. In order to promote democratic development and solidarity the ideal would be to create Community centers with full service. Community centers are part of the building of the suburbs during the postwar period. The buildings in Sweden from 1940 - and -50s were built with the intentions to be good homes for all regardless of income, class and status. Collective solutions to individual problems were characteristic of the Swedish policy during this time.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate in which aspects the public library is affected by its local Community. This is re-searched by means of an exemplified case study of a Swedish public library in which we analyze governing documents and the library website with respect to environmental scanning and mar-keting of library services.The research questions are: How are the local Community?s demands on the public li-brary being described in the governing document? How is the public library?s response to the demands of the local Community being described in the operational plan? How are the demands of the local Community, as shown in the governing document and the operational plan, re-flected in the marketing of library services on the library website?Our conclusions are that:The demands of the local Community are described in a general fashion in the governing document, but there is a lack of concrete political guidelines.The public library's response to the demands of the local commu-nity is described to some length in the operational plan, but not with respect to economical factors.The demands of the local Community are reflected to some length in the marketing of library services on the library website.
