This examine illustrates the section heads' and Caregiving staffs' perceptions of the influence of New Public Management (NPM) in public retirement homes in Malmö. A central theme is to investigate if the main features of New Public Management are noticeable and if that's the case, are the consequences an advantage or disadvantage? The main features of New Public Management in this examine are: decentralization, competition, internal market, cost- conscious, management by objectives with a focus on results and costumer focus. To reach answers to the questions above, a quantitative and a qualitative approach has been chosen. The study is based on 41 questionnaires with enrolled nurses/nurse's assistants and four semi-structured interviews with section heads of retirement homes. Four different retirement homes have been participated in this study.

Introduction: Parental involvement is becoming increasingly common in the paediatric health care. Parental participation at home means that parents receive instruction by nursing staff in order to perform a Caregiving procedure at home.Aim: To explore parents' feelings about performing Caregiving procedures on their child at home, and their experience of instruction about these, and to explore nurses? experiences of their instruction to parents.Method: A descriptive quantitative and qualitative design using questionnaires with statements to be responded by nurses and parents according to scales graded 1-10. The study was carried out during the autumn of 2009 at a pediatric unit in the University Hospital in Uppsala.Results: Ten completed questionnaires from the nursing staff and ten from parents were obtained. The mean assessment of parents' perceived safety and security, and their perception that their questions had been answered ranged between 8,6 and 9,2.

The purpose with this study was to examine how persons giving care to their spouses with dementia experience their life situation. As information source we used a qualitative study which included halfstructured interview questions. The study took place in three municipalities in the south of Sweden. Three females and two males took part in the study and everyone had experiences of giving care to their spouces with dementia. We used a coping theory and an exchange theory.

Background: Parents attitudes about illness and health reflects on their children. When the child has acute pain the parents often reacts with fear and confusion. The demands on the parenting role increase and therefore it´s important that the nurse show consideration for the parents experience and practise family nursing. Aim: The aim of this study was to illuminate parents experiences in connection with their child´s acute pain in a Caregiving situation. Method: This literature study is based on ten scientific articles.

Although Sweden is considered to be in the lead concerning an open-minded perception of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) population, very little attention has been given to the elderly within this target group. The elder LGBT population?s got special needs that haven?t been made sufficiently visible, neither as a research field, from social institutions nor from the LGBT movement itself. This study has described the target group's specific needs, based on the results of a focus group consisting of older LGBT people. Their experiences and stories have given an idea of what adjustments must be made to satisfy their specific needs.

The family and relatives caring for older people in Sweden lies on an old tradition. The responsibility to care for older family members has gone from family to the society. The aim of this study was to examine the needs of family caregivers and their experience of municipality support. This study includes only the family caregivers who have the main responsibility for the care of relatives and have support from the municipality. The caregivers were not allowed to work more than 50 percent in another job.

I denna rapport undersöktes samband mellan föräldrastilar och anknytningsmönster. Vidare undersöktes om åldersdifferensen mellan mor och barn hade någon inverkan på föräldrastilen och barnets anknytningsmönster som vuxen. Sjuttiotvå universitetsstuderande deltog i undersökningen och fyllde i fyra frågeformulär. Det första formuläret behandlade bakgrundsinformation, det andra föräldrastilar och de två övriga mätte anknytning. Pearsons korrelationstest visade att det fanns ett positivt signifikant samband mellan en auktoritär uppfostran och ångest, samt ett negativt signifikant samband mellan en auktoritativ uppfostran och ett undvikande beteende.

Studiens syfte var att undersöka relationen mellan fostermödrars mentala representationer av anknytning i sitt förhållande till sina föräldrar under barndomen och deras mentala representationer av sitt förhållande som omvårdare till sitt fosterbarn. Data samlades via två strukturerade intervjuer, Adult Attachment Interview (AAI: George, Kaplan & Main, 1985) och Caregiving and Attachment Interview (CAI: Bengtsson & Psouni, 2007). Hypotesen var att det skulle finnas ett samband mellan hur fostermödrar upplevde sitt förhållande med sina egna föräldrar, och hur de representerar sitt förhållande till sina fosterbarn. Resultaten visade en överensstämmelse mellan hur fostermödrars nuvarande tankar och känslor angående anknytning och deras tankar och känslor som vårdare till sina fosterbarn. Vidare analys visade starka samband mellan AAI och CAI när det galler upplevelser av kärlek, avvisande och mentala tillstånd av skuldkänsla, reflektion och konsekvent tänkande.
