Conqueror för Indigo
Conqueror for Indigo is production treated with an active chemical to maximize the ink Adhesion.ArjoWiggins has found that another chemical, the candidate compound, would improve the propertiesof the paper. ArjoWiggins therefore wish to replace the current compound. To strengthenthe patent requirements for ink Adhesion needs to be determined. A theory is developed to whychemicals with certain properties maximize the ink Adhesion. Experiments are performed but theresults are inaccurate.

A detailed dam safety evaluation (in Sweden called FDU) was performed in 2009 by WSP where stability control was performed for Långströmmen power plant with associated spillways. This evaluation concluded that stability could not be ensured, and risk of sliding occurred. The evaluation is based entirely on the recommendations outlined in RIDAS, the power companies guidelines for dam safety, and it is clear that extensive renovations are necessary to stabilize the dam.In this work, the stability will also be checked with guidance through new proposals on guidelines for concrete dams sliding stability, ELFORSK?s report 08:59. This report considered the guidelines in RIDAS as oversimplified, both from an international perspective, but also with regard to the current state of knowledge regarding dam safety.

Works on transparent paper, also commonly known as tracing paper, have been described as ephemeral or temporary working documents and they usually number large quantities in archival and museum collections. They have therefore previously been considered of lower priority and can be found in poor condition due to a lack of treatment or suitable storage prospects. In addition, transparent paper can be very sensitive to moisture and reacts by deformation or loss of transparency. Due to the volume of these works and the necessity of treatment, there is a call for simple and efficient conservation methods. A common solution in archives for the treatment of water-sensitive works on paper has been the use of heat-activated tissues as they can be applied without the introduction of solvents.
There is little published about the use of heat-activated tissues on transparent paper and is mentioned only briefly in existing literature.

Lining techniques such as nap bonding and mist lining were developed in the late 20th century and
have gained popularity alongside with the increased use of acrylic emulsions as adhesives. The ability
of the adhesive to create a nap bond to the canvases without penetrating the fibers has shown
advantages regarding reversibility. In addition, the use of moisture, heat and pressure is reduced,
which can be advantageous for more sensitive paintings. These lining techniques have been included
in several studies where reversibility, minimal intervention and respect for the individual requirements
and problems of each object have been the focus. The adaptability of the methods has been confirmed
and to further explore the adaptability, this study consists of three simpler application techniques with
the adhesive Lascaux 303 HV on mockups.
Development of new food products with components active against Helicobacter pylori - with purpose to improve gastric health in humans
Gastric and intestinal disorders are common and costly human health problems worldwide. Helicobacter pylori are a gram-negative, pathogen bacteria and the most common cause of duodenal and gastric ulcer in the stomach the intestinal mucosa. Prolonged infection and colonization can lead to chronic gastritis and stomach cancer. H. pylori are present in the gastric and intestinal mucosa of half of the world population and a relation between infection and low socioeconomic status has been shown.

Inledning
Implantatbehandlingar har blivit allt vanligare och material som associeras med implantat är oftast dentalt titan och dentala keramer. Även kompositmaterial förknippas ibland med implantat. Det är inte helt ovanligt att kompositmaterial förekommer vid submukösa implantatbehandlingar och få studier är hittills gjorda på kompositmaterials cytotoxiska påverkan på omkringliggande vävnad.
Material och metod
Sammanlagt tillverkades 24 stycken provkroppar till studien av två kompositmaterial (Crea.lign och SinfonyTM) och ett fältspatsporslin (Noritake). Tre provkroppar av varje material ytanalyserades med hjälp av optisk interferometri.
Adhesion av mikroorganismer till lignocellulosa
The aim of the project was to develop a method to investigate differences in Adhesion of microorganisms to materials that contains lignocellulose. The method was tested on a gram-positive (Micrococcus lutea) and one gram-negative (E-coliJM109) bacteria.The study was begun by cultivation of the two microorganisms. The cultivation was done to calculate the generation times of the bacteria and to obtain growth curves. Cells from these cultivations were also frozen (-70ºC) and later used for inoculation.At STFI-Packforsk AB the total charge on the mass was measured and later a conductivity titration on the mass was executed as well, all to find out more about the different properties of the mass. Properties that in a later part of this study could possibly be linked to the Adhesion of cells to the pulp.
The role of FGFs in the elicitation of different cellular responses
Fibroblast growth factors are signaling peptides that controls important cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, migration, Adhesion and survival. Through binding to different types of receptors on the cell surface, these peptides can have different effect on the target cell. Which effect that is achieved depends on many factors. Thus, each of the 24 known FGFs different biological responses. The FGF receptors (FGFR 1-4) initiates different intracellular pathways which in turn leads to different biological responses.

Den förekommer naturligt i sötvatten, samt som normalflora hos vissa fiskar, (6, 16) och anses vara en ökande och hittills underdiagnosticerad orsak till gastrointestinala störningar hos både människor och djur (7,8,9). Mekanismerna kring enteropatogeniciteten hos P. shigelloides är ännu inte klarlagda. Det finns ett flertal potentiella virulensfaktorer som kan vara involverade i sjukdomsförloppet.

The synthesis of the protein can be altered by a change in the nucleotide sequence, which can lead to malformation and in many cases death.One of the main reasons of increase in many genetic defects is the use of few bulls in breeding programmes, causing a reduction of the genetic variation. Genetic defects cause suffering for the animal and influences the production by, for example, increased costs due to misscarriages, lost milk production and expenditure for medical treatment. Bovine Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency (BLAD) and Complex Vertebral Malformation (CVM) are two genetic defects that were widespread before the causative mutation was discovered.

To determine the method, the corrosive category must first be evaluated and this is done in accordance to EN ISO 12944-2:1998.Stainless steel is available in many varieties but only some of them have properties that make them suitable for use as construction steels. There are many factors to be considered in the design of stainless steel to prevent corrosion from occurring.
Investigation of Syndecan-1 Ectodomain Isolated from Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) Cell Culture Medium
Syndecan-1 is a cell surface proteoglycan which participates in cell Adhesion, differentiation, motility, morphogenesis and intracellular signaling. The two glycosaminoglycans heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are covalently attached to the ectodomain of syndecan-1 via a tetra saccharide linkage sequence. However, the ectodomain can be modified having only one or neither of the glycosaminglycans attached. The glycosaminoglycans are capable of binding ligands such as fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and support activation of receptors. The ectodomain is proteolytically cleaved from the cell surface by metalloproteinases in a process known as shedding.

More than 13 % of the female dog population in Sweden suffers from mammary tumors during their lifetime. The disease can affect bitches in all ages but most often middle aged and older dogs. Some breeds such as Poodle and English Setter are predisposed for the disease.
The aim of this study was to evaluate if it is possible to improve the post surgical healing process by using a pressure pad.
Konsolidering av v?vsp?nda papperstapeter: analys och metodutveckling
Printed and painted wallpaper on a weaved fabric backing was a common way to decorate homes in Sweden during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Not much is written about the craftsmanship in relation to the hanging of these wallpapers and even less about the conservation of the objects. Even so, many wall segments remain in situ and in museums and are more often than not in dire need of conservation such as deacidification and consolidation. These are composite objects, consisting of cellulose materials with different properties along with adhesives and paints. Analysis of the materials is required to ensure safe handling and choice of conservation materials, and to establish a treatment plan which will be executed in several steps.
This thesis aims to identify these steps and develop a method for conserving the wall segments with suitable materials, preferably without altering the source material to any significant degree.

This Thesis project examines the Circles? characteristics and its significance in various connections. The goal of this Thesis is to examine what role the Circle plays in various situations and what motives there are for using it is landscape architecture.
The basis for this Thesis work is a proposal which has been drawn up for development of the rural area between the villages of Hofterup and Löddeköping in the municipality of Kävlinge.
