The purpose of these studies is to see how the reception and education of non-Swedish speaking newcomers are organized in a small county, and what you can do to improve this process to achieve a better and quicker integration into the Swedish language and society. To do this, interviews have been performed with four headmasters and different categories of teachers representing all schools in the actual county.In the result it was clear that both headmasters as teachers saw a need to change   and improve reception to provide consistent but flexible support. The headmasters wanted to create written instructions to assure equivalence between the different schools. The majority of teachers wanted to change the current system whereby some pupils, based on their origins, were placed in a preparatory class to learn the language whilst others were placed directly into a Swedish class. All teachers also thought that the help the non-Swedish speaking newcomers were offered was insufficient.The conclusion is that the county must decide and create instructions according to Skolverket?s recommendations and it also ought to offer all pupils the possibility of learning the basis of the language in a preparatory class.

This one-year master's thesis investigates the late part of the Middle Neolithic on the island of Gotland. This thesis has been written without the influence of a singular theoretical pespective, and has therefore seen input from the processual, and postprocessual theories. By using several perspectives, an attempt is made to view the material remains used in the most objective manner possible. The specific aim of this thesis is to investigate whether the Mid-Neolithic inhabitants of Gotland were a part of the Corded Ware culture (or as it is called in Sweden, the Battleaxe culture or the Boataxe culture). Most recent literature has concluded that Gotland was never a part of the Battlexe culture, though this thesis has discovered many parallels with the mainland culture, including the production of similar objects and ritual practices.

In this bachelor thesis a complete prototype of an industrial vibration measurement platform has been developed. By measuring a number of variables such as acceleration, temperature and speed conclusions can be drawn on machinery health. The aim is to evaluate hardware and software solutions for a possible future product. Based on a requirement specification a proper hardware design has be developed. The hardware consists of a four-layer PCB with an ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller and about 250 other components. The PCB was designed, assembled, tested and finally housed in a box.

Construction projects are organized in different shapes and disturbances in the information flow in these processes can lead to problems, such as delays and/or a lower quality. Therefore, a well-functioning interaction between actors and a well thought out-communication at an early stage is of crucial importance. The main question is "How does the communication of decision and information flow in the building process and what barriers and opportunities can be observed?". Prioritisation of software requirements is a critical part of the development of software. Whichrequirements and in which order they will be developed is one of the main tasks that requirementprioritisation supports.There are different ways that a requirement prioritisation can be used, for example alone or in agroup and with different methods.The purpose of this report is to map out how you can carry out a requirement prioritisation alonewith different types of prioritisation methods and how you solve the problems that can arise whenprioritisting requirements. This is done by documenting the use of three different types of methodsthat can be execute alone. The methods are "100-dollar test", "Ranking" and "Top-tenrequirements".To be able to prioritise requirements, you need to establish which requirements you shall prioritise.The paper retrieves this information by interviewing stakeholders in the system and analysing theresult of the interviews and the execution of the requirement prioritisation.Three problems arose during that work and I present solutions on these problems. The aim of the present study was to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of the contact with the ?fear of childbirth?-team (called Aurora-team) made by women who feared childbirth. Qualitative content analyses according to Graneheim and Lundman was used to analyse 91 womens own written notes made at the end of a questionnaire which (with a quantitative approach) evaluated the counseling made by the Aurora-team at a hospital in the south of Sweden. The following five categories developed during the analyses; experience of the conversation, not knowing creates fear, thoughts regarding mode of delivery, the importance of how the birth plan is managed and the personnel´s standpoint regarding fear of childbirth. These categories can be seen as parts of the themes of experiences which made the fear of childbirth easier or which made it worse.

In January 2005 large forest areas in south Sweden were severely damaged by storm. This final thesis describes the work with creating an ecological and landscape-adapted regeneration plan for a severely storm damaged property in Kronobergs region in south Sweden. This regeneration plan, in difference to more regular plans, are focusing more on the owner?s use and goal?s for the property and seeing the property from a more comprehensive view in the regeneration process. Beside production and environmental values the plan also take in consideration other values as aesthetic, culture history, landscape picture and recreation values.

This masters thesis is a gender study of the role of the artist in childrens literature of art. The study comprises forty-three childrens books presenting the life of a historic, contemporary or fictional artist. The books are published from the 1960s to the present day. They are written or translated into Swedish and available in Swedish libraries. The representation of the artist is examined separately in the text and in the illustrations.

To this date there are 14 major armed conflicts, four of which are defined as war. Every day several people come to Sweden as asylum  seekers and refugees looking for a residence permit in Sweden. This paper is about the children who receive a residence permit in Sweden and attend Swedish schools. Many of these children have experienced trauma ? damage to the psyche after a traumatic experience.From two qualitative interviews of a principal and a counselor at a school in Järfälla municipality, and three teachers at the same school, I studied what trauma management at this school looks like.

Properties are bought and sold daily, which means that it is of great importance with rules that regulate the acquisition. The rules on who should be held liable for a property brought to a head when the acquisition relates to a property that is loaded with contaminated soil. The purpose with this thesis is to investigate who could be held liable for contaminated land and also whether an exclusion clause can affect the separation of responsibilities. Two different liabilities can occur depending on which law that should be applicable, MB or JB.MB's rules apply to anyone who may be subject to decontamination responsibilities, which is regulated in Chapter 10. Background: Studies showed differences in attitudes towards patients with mental illness in nurses who worked in somatic care compared to nurses who worked in psychiatric care. The nurses in somatic care stated more negative attitudes to mental illness in relation to the nurses in psychiatric care. Studies also showed that work experience affected attitudes towards mental illness. Nurses who often came in contact with people with mental illness had less negative attitudes and prejudices against mental illness. Aim: The aim was to examine the experiences from nurses in somatic care, caring for patients who also have a psychiatric diagnosis.

AbstractMy study is about working memory and working memory abilities for children with concentration difficulties. I have looked at literature and current research. I have also done an interview study on three pedagogues who have experience of the problem area.The conclusion I can draw from my investigation is, when it comes to working memory and what children with concentration difficulties can have problem with, is often shown when instruction is given in several stages and when the child come to the last instruction they sometimes have forgotten what the first instruction was. Special questions, image, image schedules and written instruction can help the child to remember. I also found that the pedagogues not only looked at working memory, but they also examined how the child hear and see, therefore they look at the ability of how the child notice what they hear and see and how they use it in their every day living.
