AbstractThe purpose of the study was to examine if manual signs used as support to spoken and written language can be a god mnemonic for learning of word-pictures. I performed my study as an experiment in which I made a Memory game with word-pictures. I played the game with the children twice. The first time, we played without manual signs and the second time I used sign as a support. I observed the children and noted the words they learned to read with and without the support of manual signs.

The purpose of this study is to analyze what criminological theory explanations the Sweden Democrats use in their criminal politics. The three main questions from which we assume are: How do the Sweden Democrats approach crime? On which criminological theory is the Sweden Democrat?s policy of crime based upon? And which measures and preventive methods do the Sweden Democrats find appropriate to fight criminality? Our hypothesis is that the Sweden Democrat?s reuse/reproduce the Labeling Theory and that the party with its standpoints in this area and the rhetoric used, create a risk for individuals and/or groups of people to be labeled. The labeling can then contribute to increasing crime, in the form of the self-fulfilling prophecy. Our study is a qualitative study, based on literature studies.

The main purpose with this study is to make the modified parenting visible in relation to the school over time. How have the views of parenting and support, by the pedagogues and the parents, earlier been interpreted and how is it today? The results of the interviews, which were more like an everyday dialogue, were analyzed through a phenomenological effort with a hermeneutist method interpretation. The theory connection has mainly consisted of relevant terms for this study.I have come to the conclusion that parents today feel that they have an extended responsibility when it comes their own children?s knowledge.

Denna uppsats är en del i en masterexamen i pedagogik och behandlar diskursanalys av fyra uppsatser, skrivna av studenter som läst kurserna Pedagogiskt drama 90 hp på Malmö högskola. Syftet med undersökningen har varit att beskriva och analysera hur studenterna formulerar sig kring dramapedagogik och vilka eventuella mönster som uppstår i deras texter och vilka diskurser som därför kan identifieras. Jag har också använt mig av Lindströms teori (2008) om läroformer inom Estetiska lärprocesser och Marners idéer om argument för estetiska ämnen i skolan (2004), för att analysera studenternas uppsatser. I diskursanalysen har jag kommit fram till att fyra diskurser kan identifieras i studenternas texter. Dessa diskurser har jag benämnt: kunskaps-diskurs, ämnes-diskurs, metod-diskurs och social diskurs. Det finns spår av alla diskurser i alla fyra uppsatser men mest uttalad är metod-diskursen och den sociala diskursen..

I dennna uppsats är syftet att undersöka hur fyra gymnasielärare i svenska och/eller religion på teoretiska gymnasieprogram förhåller sig till bedömning av elevarbeten inlämnade efter elutdatum. Syftet är också att undersöka vilka argument lärarna har för sitt bedömningssätt samt vilka ramfaktorerna äe som kan tänkas styra deras möjligheter och begränsningar. Med elevarbeten menar vi enskilda, skriftliga inlämningsarbeten. Vi använder oss av kvalitativa intervjuer med utgångspunkt i en intervjuguide och utgår från den fenomenografiska ansatsen för att lyfta fram läranas uppfattningar som därefter tolkas utifrån ramfaktorteorin där vi utröner såväl yttre som inre ramar. Lärarnas uppfattningar delas in i tre huvudkategorier: slutdatum - absolut, stöd i styrdokumenten samt disskussioner kring slutdatum mellan kolleger.

Our purpose with this essay was to analyse the play "Night Is the Mother of Day" written by Lars Norén, and to investigate how the family members/characters in the play interacted.By analysing the family with help from the system theory and by comparing the family with scientifically proven facts regarding drug abuse complexities, this essay explains the family's behaviour pattern and main dysfunctional problems.This essay explains the similarities and non similarities between the science and the specific theatrical play being used. It also rise the question whether there are advantages with analysing plays in terms of increasing the ability to relate to difficult problems and create a greater empathy and understanding for people involved with social problems..

This master thesis studies how much the cycle time, i.e. the time it takes for an industrial robot to perform a given task, can be reduced if an extra degree of freedom (DOF) is added to the robot system. The extra DOF consists of a linear track, which is supposed to be used in an optimal way. The problem has been studied using simulations in the robot simulation tool RobotStudio. To be able to run an optimization in Matlab, with the RobotStudio simulation cycle time as the object function, communication between Matlab and RobotStudio has been set up with an interface written in Visual Basic.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine which criteria are generally used to guide pub­lic librarians in their acquisitions' decision. The study went ahead in France, principally at La Bibliotheque municipale de Lyon. It also includes a view of some special library services in the social field.Twenty persons were interviewed and an attempt was made to divide their answers into three sections: acquisition routines and criteria for media purchase, how to receive the library visi­tors and their influence on the acquisitions, and, finally, the librarians' own opinions on the matter. One important question was whether censorship is applied and in that case, would it be a deliberately way of acting or rather a spontaneous reaction, more or less unconscious.Censorship in real or manifested through a self-preservative reaction turned out to be a factor closely dependant on the library's financial situation. Many librarians affirmed they would find useful some kind of a written practical library acquisition policy..

In 1988 the Swedish Social Democratic Party decided to reform the tax system. In this essay I analyse the motives behind their acting on a basis of the party strategic theories of Przeworski and Sjöblom. The reform commonly referred to as the tax reform of the century, was although they considered that it was a high risk project pursued together with the Liberal Party. The new tax system implicated a less progressive income tax scale, actions against tax avoidance and raised value-added tax. The empirical analysis is primarily based on memoirs written by the key actors.

The chief aim of this study is to investigate the impact of context on written peer response. A second aim is to explore students? attitudes towards peer response. The investigation has taken place at an upper secondary school in the south-east of Sweden, involving 20 students in grade 2 and 3 in the course Swedish C. The investigation is based on the students? comments on their peers? speech drafts and six qualitative interviews.

Rosengren, Anna, 2006: Samiska kvinnor och osynlig historia. En komparativ studie av svenskar och samer vid 1600-talstinget. (Saami Women and Invisible Histories. A Comparative Study of Swedes and Saamis in Court during the 17th Century.)The purpose of the paper is to gain new knowledge about Saami women in the 17th century using court protocols in the Luleå and Torneå Lappmarks, supplemented by secondary sources.Saami women did not write their own history, nor did Saami men. Information available about Saami is written by male representatives of the Swedish crown and church.

Denna uppsats är en kvalitativ studie som behandlar motiv och argument bakom uppdelningen av föräldraledigheten. Frågeställningen är följande:Hur delar våra utvalda par upp föräldraledighetsdagarna, där ena partnern frilansar?Vilka motiv och resonemang ligger bakom denna uppdelning?Vi har intervjuat sex par där ena partnern är frilansare och den andra har en vanlig anställning. Anledningen till valet av den ena partnern som frilansare är att det är en annorlunda anställningsform som eventuellt kan bidra till nya förutsättningar som i sin tur kan komma att påverka uppdelningen av föräldraledigheten. Tolv olika intervjuer har genomförts var för sig där vi båda, som uppsatsförfattare har varit närvarande.

Den här uppsatsen behandlar Holmes Rolston IIIs bok ?Environmental Ethics? och den teori som författaren där för fram angående naturens värde. Syftet är att klargöra hur naturen är värdefull enligt Rolston samt att kritiskt granska de argument som förs fram.Uppsatsen har tre delar. En introduktion som i korthet presenterar teorier om etisk naturalism, antropocentrisk etik, det naturalistiska misstaget, intrinsikala värden samt distinktionen mellan kultur och natur. In this degree project I have studied how an anti-discrimination bureau can adapttheir online information to the target group ? immigrants who only have modestunderstanding of the Swedish language. This group is often subject of discriminationmatters, and therefore it?s important that they can take part of the information.To find answers to my questions I have studied different relevant theories, performeda readability analysis on the online information and have had qualitativeinterviews with representatives from the target group. I have also tested my rewrittentexts on both representatives and other readers.The result from my studies has shown that it is words that are the most difficult inthe current online information, while length and structure of the sentences are alsoof importance when it comes to the readability.

The purpose of this essay is to analyze the view on sexuality held by Sweden?s first woman doctor Karolina Widerström, by using ideologycritical textanalysis on the written scriptures of dr. Widerström that focus on sexualpolitics. In doing this I use the theory of speech by Foucault. In this study I focus on Widerström?s scriptures, what she wrote about, how she wrote about it but also what she couldn't write due to the historical context and how omission can still speak of power.
