The purpose of this dissertation is to examine the occurrence of Scandinavia in the then daily English newspaper Yorkshire Herald during the First World War. The dissertation looks into what the Yorkshire Herald wrote about Scandinavia in the parts of the newspaper where the newspaper´s own opinion was given. This approach is connected to the theoretical idea that the British local and regional press was politically free during the war period. The dissertation also looks into the number of news telegrams etcetera that concerned Scandinavia during the period.The result shows that Scandinavia, both as a whole as well as the three individual countries, was mentioned about 700 times, split over about 600 telegrams and articles, during the examined period stretching from the first of August 1914 to the eleventh of November 1918. Material that gives the newspaper´s opinion regarding issues concerning Scandinavia can be found six times during the period.

Looking at the debate on nuclear power in Sweden, the issue of risk is central to understanding the difficulties in resolving differences between proponents and opponents. I sought to answer the research question: "how is the concept of risk constructed in the nuclear power debate in Sweden?" Four main aspects of risk construction were defined and investigated to identify differences between sides in the debate. Through a qualitative study of the debate and its actors I found clear differences in respect to all four aspects of risk construction. First, the perception of nuclear power as a "normal risk" is common among nuclear opponents in contrast to a largely probabilistic view among proponents.

Det här arbetet har därför riktat in sig på hur interaktion och kommunikation gällande hur samarbetet fungerar inom MMORPG spelet World of Warcraft.Syftet med detta arbete var att undersöka möjligheter till förbättringar gällande interaktion och kommunikation för samarbete inom MMORPG spel, och inriktar sig i det här fallet speciellt på World of Warcraft.Genom att använda tre vanligt förekommande metoder undersöktes nuvarande interaktionsmöjligheter inom World of Warcraft. Dessa metoder var deltagarobservationer som genomförs i testmiljön World of Warcraft. Enkätundersökning som var av typen webbenkät med både öppna och stängda frågor.

The world is getting smaller. Global markets, political processes and communication technology bring people together. Even though many of these processes are dynamic and constructive, they have also resulted in a need for better and more effective ways of international conflict resolution. This thesis investigates central issues connected to the concept of humanitarian interventions in relation to current and future legislation of the European Union. The overall question is whether the rapid globalization process has resulted in a change of international law towards more liberal view where authorization of the security council is not always needed? And, if there has actually been such a liberalization, how does that affect the legal possibilities for the European Union to carry out armed operations without the consent of the global community? The conclusion of the thesis is that international law has been modified mainly in two aspects: First, the concept of sovereignty is no longer seen merely as a right of the nation, but also as a responsibility.

Internkommunikation är något som finns i alla företag och förefaller vara en viktig del av ett företags ekonomistyrning då ledare med hjälp av internkommunikation mer effektivt kan samordna personal att sträva mot företagets mål. Då det behövs mer forskning kring hur företag med hjälp av internkommunikation kan bli mer effektiva är syftet med studien att skapa en förståelse för hur företag kan använda sin internkommunikation som en del av sin ekonomistyrning. Studien har genomförts som en fallstudie med intervjuer på ett tjänsteföretag som är en del av en större koncern och visar på vad ledare kan behöva ta hänsyn till när de ska utforma kommunikationsstrategier. Vidare har studien med utgångspunkt i Agentteorin och Attention-Based View of the firm tagit fram en förenklad modell för att försöka förklara sambandet mellan dessa teorier, det vill säga hur relationen mellan informationsasymmetri och personalens förmåga att rikta uppmärksamhet mot information ter sig. This paper aims to give an account of, and to discuss the view-points and theories of different researchers on the christianization of Sweden, especially the province of Öland, during the early middle ages. The intention of this essay is to put the light on and to discuss if there is a connection between a pre-Christian creation mythology and naked rocks on prehistoric sacred places in Scandinavia. Archaeological as well as historical materials are studied. The historical material is mostly from Snorre Sturlasons Asasagan with the explanation of the creation of the world. In this story the world was built from the body of a killed and deposited giant named Ymer. Almost the same myth is told in all Indo-European countries.

In recent years there have been major changes in the accounting field and the question of what is fair and accurate reporting is always a relevant issue. Defining the concept of true and fair view and to find an accurate synonym is difficult, still it may be considered that there is an implied meaning of the concept in the business of accounting. In 2004 BFN started the development of K2, a simplified regulatory framework for small companies. The purpose of K2 is to facilitate the accounting and reduce the administrative burden for these companies. In Sweden, 95 percent of all companies belong to the category of small companies and are allowed to use the new and simplified regulations, K2.

Samuel Huntingtons answer was that in the future, cultural identity would be the most important factor behind international conflict. And that the threat of world war would come from clashes between civilizations instead of clashes between ideologies like during the cold war. Was he correct? This thesis is an attempt to find out if Huntingtons theory was right in its predictions of the world to come.

The objective of this study was to investigate differences in the portrayal of Western European citizens and non Western European citizens in Hergé?s graphic novels about the young journalist Tintin. We wanted to see if the globalization during the mid 1900?s had an effect on Hergé?s way of portraying the world. We started off by selecting nine novels from three different periods of time, though we read all of the novels in The Adventures of Tintin.
