As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

The aim of this paper is to describe how to measure welfare effect of the deregulation and increased competition of the public transport by railway in Sweden. The paper also includes a numerical example of how to measure the welfare effect. In our study we use public data from SJ regaring quantity and ticket prices for the period 1996 - 2005. We have used equivalent variation, EV, as the method to measure the welfare effect. We demonstrate how to derive the equation to calculate EV by starting with a Marschallian demand function.

Idag väljer många företag och kommuner att placera data i molnet istället för på en lokal server, detta medför nya problem som tidigare inte varit aktuella. Datainspektionen har påpekat brister i hur två kommuner använder molntjänster för att lagra personlig data då de ställer sig tveksamma till molnleverantörernas hantering av data samt insynen till molnleverantörerena. I detta arbete kommer det undersökas hur den svenska personuppgiftslagen fungerar när data läggs ut i en molntjänst. Resultatet av uppsatsen kommer även visa på de olika säkerhetshoten som finns i molnet och se vad säkerhetsexperter säger för att ta reda på om kommuner och företag är medvetna om och uppmärksammar samma hot. För att ta reda på detta har intervjuer genomförts med en svensk molnleverantör, företag som utvecklar tjänster mot molnet, privatpersoner som nyttjar molnet och experter inom säkerhet från Blekinge Tekniska Högskola, BTH.

Sweden has today the highest moose (Alces alces) population in the world. The population has been very high since the late seventies and in the beginning of the eighties there was a big ?moose explosion?. The main food source for moose during the winter is young pine (Pinus sylvestris) and birch (Betula spp.). The high moose population has therefore lead to high damage on pine forests over big areas.

This paper describes the development of a simulation model for the ambulance flow in the Västra Götalands-region of Sweden, and an analysis tool for the output of the simulation model. The aim of the simulation model was to be able to evaluate the outcome from changes in the ambulance operations, such as a reorganization of ambulances or an increase in intensity of the ambulance calls. This evaluation is meant to serve as decision support for the strategic planning of the ambulance operations. The analysis tool was developed to visualize the abundant geographical data produced by the simulation model in a meaningful way. The simulation model was validated against historical data which showed that the dispatch time for the highest prioritized ambulance calls corresponds well with historical data.

Det här examensarbetet undersöker hur en databaslösning kan utformas för simuleringsbaserad ruttoptimering. Då det finns få relaterade arbeten inom ämnet syftar detta arbete till att undersöka hur en lämplig databaslösning kan utformas och ge riktlinjer för detta. Databaslösningen innefattar både lagring av data samt åtkomst och hantering av data. Då simuleringsbaserad optimering ofta är avancerad innebär detta att en stor och komplex mängd data måste hanteras. Simulator och optimerare använder denna data under själva optimeringsprocessen, vilket ställer krav på effektivitet och snabb åtkomst. Arbetet är inriktat på ett praktiskt problem där sophantering av containrar simuleras och optimeras.

The Swine flu (H1N1) erupted in 2009 and wasquickly spread over the world and developed into a pandemic, with a great threat against people?s health. It was soon discovered that the H1N1?virus had a different character than the seasonal flu, since it especially affected younger individuals and the consequences from the disease were expected to be more severe. In Sweden it was decided to provide a free of charge vaccination against the H1N1-virus, and the Swedish vaccination ratiobecome relatively high compared to other countries.

I dag är konkurrensen stor inom ridsporten och kraven på att hästarna ska fungera och prestera på toppnivå ökar. För att den Svenska varmblodiga hästen (SWB) ska vara konkurrenskraftig krävs ett effektivt avelsarbete. Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur ägare av SWB uppfattar sina hästar vad gäller temperament, benställning, skador och prestation. Svaren analyserades för att undersöka effekten av olika faktorer på hästarnas prestation vid unghästbedömningar och tävling och kommer sen att användas i en genetisk associationsstudie. Hästarna kommer också att följas upp för att se om det finns någon genetisk korrelation till prestation och hållbarhet. En enkät skickades ut till alla som äger eller har ägt ett svenskt varmblod född 2006 och senare.

This masters thesis investigates the relation between China and the Information Society as it is manifested in the UN conference the World Summit on the Information Society WSIS. The first phase of this two-phase conference took place in Geneva 10-12 December 2003, with two documents, Declaration of principles DP and Plan of action PA, as main results. The information policy is central to an authoritarian rule in its efforts to keep control over the national identity. The thesis investigates the impact that the information revolution and Internet might have on the Chinese national identity through the acceptance of DP and PA in various aspects. With the use of the information science theories by Manuel Castells and Frank Webster, the vision of WSIS was compared with the Chinese information policy.

This bachelor thesis describes why investors should invest in environmentally certified buildings instead of non certified buildings. The report provides an overview of possible factors influencing an investor in the investment process of an environmentally certified building. The report explains why building companies find incentive to build green buildings and how a cash flow method can be adapted so it can be used in the valuation process of an environmentally certified building. Environmentally certified buildings are used as a strategy to reduce emissions that threaten the environment as well as a strategy to obtain market shares for the building companies. This report focuses on the economic advantages of an environmentally certified building.The construction- and real estate industry stands for approximately 40 percent of the energy consumption in the world.

This essay will be concentrated to aim on what kind of countries receiving aid from Sweden, and exactly why these countries are being chosen.The main question of this essay is: What countries are receiving the international developing aid, and how can this distribution be understood? To answer the main question there are two themes in the essay:? What kind of countries is supposed to receive developing aid from Sweden according to the policy?? What kind of countries is receiving the aid, and how can this be understood?This essay is mainly based on quantitative data obtained from Sida, together with index of corruption and poverty will the different types of Swedish cooperation countries be described.The conclusions of this essay are that there are two objectives of the policy: to fight poverty, and to strengthen the civil rights.

Abstract Many researchers in social work believe that in today's society require the interaction between organisations takes place on social problems. This study examined the interaction between the police, social services and schools.The purpose of this study are as follows; the aim is to investigate the interaction between social services, the police and schools about young people aged 12-18 years who are at risk for abuse and crime.My questions are: How do the different professions interact regarding young people at risk for abuse and crime? How do they meet young people in their daily work? What obstacles can the different professions see in interaction? What effects do the different professions see in interaction?The study is a qualitative study conducted with semi-structured interviews. Respondents have been two from each organisation.The theory used in the analysis of empirical data is new-institutionalismen. New-institutionalism is a theory developed from organizational theories.

Syfte:Att belysa vad som tas upp i vårdprogram angående vårdmöte och stöd till cancerpatienter.Bakgrund:På grund av det ökade antalet människor som får diagnosen cancer, är sjuksköterskor i behov av mer kunskap om vårdmöte och stöd till cancerpatienter.Metod:Att analysera data genom en kvalitativ litteraturstudie som behandlar omvårdnads - och psykosociala aspekter i vårdprogram.Resultat:Delaktighet genom information, stöd genom kommunikation, att uppmärksamma psykisk ohälsa samt att bemöta existentiella frågor har visat sig vara viktiga delar och utgör resultatets fyra temaområden.Slutsats:Vårdprogram har visat sig innehålla en ojämn fördelning av information angående vårdande möten och stöd till cancerpatienter. Sammantaget ger dock det material som presenteras i studiens resultat, en relativt mångfacetterad bild av hur vårdmöte och stöd kan ges under olika faser i cancerpatienters sjukdomsförlopp.Klinisk implikation:Denna studie kan vara en bra källa till information för sjuksköterskor om vård och stöd i der dagliga mötet med cancerpatienter. Genom att erbjuda användbara råd och strategier kan denna studie skapa en ökad känsla av självförtroende inför svåra situationer som sjuksköterskan kan möta..

This work describes the genus Helleborus both from a general point of view, and with individual descriptions of 17 species. The intention is not to make a complete description of the genus, but rather to give an overview and an introduction into the world of Helleborus.
