Dialog om staden : En studie om medborgardialogens roll och betydelse för stadsplaneringen i Nacka kommun

This master thesis explores the nature of public participation as a central and most current subject in the field of urban planning. A first impression exposes a seemingly unanalyzed consensus on the values and benefits which public participation provides the process of urban planning. The city may be a concern to all its inhabitants; hence knowledge and opinions of the local public are of great importance for the urban development. But is there really something new to these assumptions, and are the advantages of increased public participation in urban planning always obvious?  By using action research as a main method, I have put myself into the context of the Swedish municipality of Nacka and their projects dealing with the development of public participation.

Mångfaldsarbete, en intersektionell strategi? : En studie av kommuners kombinerade jämställdhets- och mångfaldsplaner.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate and analyze the term diversity in five Swedish municipality?s combined gender equality- and diversity plans. The purpose is also to investigate who or whom of the employers that are included in the term diversity and if gender equality is included in the diversity work. The material is analyzed on the basis of theory of intersectionality and discourse analysis. The outcome of the analysis indicates that the municipalities use the term diversity in many different ways in the combined gender equality- and diversity plans.

This study will chart the changeover work, with a standpoint in the SMED-theory, at the company Peter Ernst AB in Värnamo. They are suppliers in plastic moulding industry and delivers to amongst other Saab in Trollhättan and Scania. The company are in a very competitive market, and they have to make manufacturing more efficient and rationalise their costs to be able to compete. A big problem, which the company has identified, is their long changeovers. It brings higher costs, a more stressful work climate and holds back the company from becoming more efficient.Field studies will be conducted on the changeover, which will be observed and filmed.

AimThe main aim of this study was to find out how teachers reflect on their work with developing pupils? interest towards mathematics in grade nine. As a teacher in mathematics, it is important to be aware of different views on interest towards mathematics and how it is possible to work in that direction. Since developing interest towards mathematics is written the in syllabus as criteria for teaching mathematics in grade nine, it is important to know and take an active role in finding ways to approach the issue.Main issues? How do teachers in grade nine reflect over their work with development of interest towards mathematics?? How are teachers? Kalmar Tullhamn i förändring - ett planförslag för platsen där stad möter vatten på kulturhistorisk grund.

Trots den centrala lokaliseringen och det vackra läget vid vattnet upplevs Tullhamnen som en av Kalmar centrums baksidor. Tullhamnen kännetecknas idag av stora asfaltytor som upplåts för bilparkering och trafikstråk. All vattenkontakt i området avsätts idag för bilens ändamål - för parkering och vägar. Uppsatsen undersöker hur Tullhamnens möjligheter kan tas tillvara och utvecklas utifrån sina planeringsförutsättningar. Krishantering : Granskning av krisarbete i grundskolan

My purpose in this paper is to study teachers' work in reading and writing in primary school and special school. I want to find out if they use the same methods, strategies and materials to help students learn to read and write. I will find out the answer to my purpose by performing two qualitative observation and two qualitative interviews. Lundberg (2010) is the researcher I relate to during my study. Through observation, I see how teachers work with students in the classroom during a lesson in the Swedish language. During the interviews, I received answers to how teachers work with language, the materials, methods and strategies they use. I found out that teachers use specific strategies when they help their students. They use a work material that is tailored to curriculum in Swedish language and it is based on the phonics method. .

Planering av vägupprustning med hjälp av GIS och optimering : en fallstudie på Holmen Skog

The objective of this thesis was to develop a method for the planning of road upgrading at Holmen Skog, a Swedish forest company. A critical issue for creating such plans is to identify roads that are suitable to upgrade to a standard that can handle heavy traffic during spring thaw, since spring thaw is a bottle neck for transporting timber. The method was tested in a case study at a district. The work consisted of two parts. The first was to retrieve and prepare geographical data for the roads.

Får anställda den motivation de behöver? : En studie om motivation på organisationen Sida

Purpose: To examine if the management of the public sector organization Sida actively work with how to motivate their employees. We also examine which factors of motivation dominate amongst the employees.Method: A case study with a qualitative approach was conducted, using semi structured interviews and a survey to gather data. By connecting motivation theories with collected data, we analysed the results to find similarities, differences and relations between them.Theory: The study is based on motivation theories and other contributing research.Conclusions: The study shows that management actively work with how to motivate their employees. But the employees are not aware of how management work with motivation. The majority of the motivation factors are highly valued, but the dominating factors are personal growth, stimulating work assignments and the ability to know the results of their work..

Globala klimatförändringar i fysisk planering - exempel Hattholmen i Karlskrona

De globala klimatförändringarna som sker i dag måste tas hänsyn till inom alla aspekter av vårt samhälle. Det är få som inte har hört att medeltemperaturen blir högre, att havsnivåerna stiger och att stormarna blir värre och orsakar mer skada än tidigare. I den fysiska planeringen går det att göra mycket för att guida de globala klimatförändringarnas utveckling i rätt riktning, en riktning som gör att samhället förändras efter de nya förutsättningarna och samtidigt stävjar den snabba utvecklingen de globala klimatförändringarna har i dag. Syftet med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka vad som kan göras inom den fysiska planeringen för att åstadkomma just detta. Vidare har syftet varit att göra ett idéförslag på Hattholmen i Karlskrona som samlar konkreta lösningar för vad som kan göras på lokal nivå när det gäller de globala klimatförändringarna. Metoderna i detta arbete är kvalitativ innehållsanalys och tillämpningsstudie som används för att besvara frågeställningarna och på sätt belysa arbetes syfte.

Service Design is a relatively new, unexplored and exciting phenomenon that through an interdisciplinary work methodology designs services. A discussion has been going on for a long time regarding whether there is a difference between products and services. Services are often classified as immaterial, heterogeneous, non-storable and inseparable in relation to products. A question that arises is if something specific characterises the work methodology used regarding service design. The aim with this paper is thus to explain the work methodology when working with service design.

"Man måste brinna för det man gör": en studie av arbetsledarnas arbetssituation inom handikapp- och äldreomsorgen i Halmstad kommun.

The focus in this paper was on managers in the middle position in the care of the elderly and people with disabilities. The aim was to develop knowledge about the conditions of work among managers in the middle position and what they characterized as good leadership and which strategies they used in their work. The empirical data consisted of nine qualitative interviews with managers in the middle position in the municipality of Halmstad.The frameworks that mainly limited the middle managers' discretion were laws, political regulations and most of all it was the allocated budget. Their discretion was found closer to the operation such as working methods, recruitment and changes in job schedules. The middle managers spent the majority of their working hours with personnel administrative work and that they often had to prioritise among their tasks.

The ongoing change that characterizes the landscape as a result of the development of the society as a wholeis the basis for this thesis. Even though the Scanian landscape still is dominated by arable land, other valuessuch as biological diversity, cultural heritage and economical aspects, has all been ascribed the landscape asmore and more important factors and in some respects, compete with the farming industry about the right tothe landscape. Our demand of more and more space, will of course also affect the landscape. Huge amountof land are used to build external malls and single-family houses, which gives rise to an increasing need foran extended transport system that also is land consuming.It all comes down to: how the municipalities deal with non built areas - the green structure. Do themunicipalities have separate programs describing their vision and objectives concerning the green structure?Literature studies, an inventory made of the municipality programs in the west and south west of Scaniaand interviews with employees at the municipalities clarifies the use of the green structure concept, both intheory and in practice.The green structure concept seems to be derived from the environmental debate.

AbstractThe aim in this dissertation is to investigate into the working of the rehabilitation process as to actors involved. A specific focus has been set on the component ?Work introduction?. The study shows that the road back to work is a complex matter. Individuals involved have different backgrounds and living situations, which influence this rehabilitation.

Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the local public health coordinators in Region Västra Götaland are working and what barriers they experience in their work.

Jämställdhetsarbete - det lagstadgade arbetet som inte prioriteras : En studie kring jämställdhetsarbete i privata företag

The purpose of this essay is to investigate and analyze how widely and intensive genderequality issues are considered within Swedish companies. Qualitative interviews werearranged with personnel managers within each company, and complemented with aquestionnaire amongst the employees. The collected information was analysed on the basis ofgender theory, organization and change theory, theory of equal opportunities and historicalstatistics. The outcome of the analysis indicates that companies find gender equality of highinterest, and important to address within the daily work. However the analysis also shows thateven though the companies find gender equality important it is only adopted within few areas,and not across all departments.
