The goal and purpose of this essay is to study if and how multimodality is used within a Swedish school in Kalmar. This is accomplished by observing the different modalities inside the classroom and how the use of different modalities affects the teaching. Unstructured observations combined with a material-based thematic presentation leads up to an analysis based on social semiotics and multimodality. The essay shows how the teaching uses lots of modalities: sound, images, movies, speeches and literary text in lots of different ways. These different types of modalities are used in a multimodal context, providing good conditions for learning..

In this essay I have chosen to take a closer look at gold figure foils (Swedish ?guldgubbar?), find their context and analyze it. I have analyzed some earlier studies about gold figure foils that were found in Scandinavia.The focus of my study is based on the locations of the findings. Another important aspect is to discuss if the encountered gold figure foils that were folded and cut looked like that due to intentional motives or not.My conclusion is that when it comes to the locations of the findings they are mostly found in houses irrespective of if it´s in a posthole, wall or house foundation.The other conclusion is that the gold figure foils could have intentionally been manipulated before they ended up in the ground..

This places high demands on long-term and smart energy solutions that willkeep the future Swedish building stock energy consumption at low levels. This thesishas focused on examining how the energy performance of buildings is affected bydifferent choices of window types in different cardinal directions. The objective wasto obtain a basis for recommendations on how window properties can be optimizedfor different types of buildings and orientations.

Syftet med min uppsats är att försöka förmedla hur man ser på anime, ett så typiskt japanskt fenomen, här i väst? Vidare så har jag genom litteraturstudier försökt presentera för läsaren vad anime är för något. Detta görs genom en kort historisk presentation av anime för att sedan djupare visa strukturen i anime, karaktärer, innehåll och slutligen huruvida anime återspeglar nutida oro i det egna samhället. Även en viss diskussion förs gällande anime och dess legitimitet som japanskt kulturarv. Mina informanter får också berätta hur dom tycker att anime särskiljer sig från övriga animationer, då främst från väst samt hur den svenska marknaden och dess tittare ställer sig till anime..

Techniques used in the building of a number of ships from the Mediterranean will be presented in this paper. The two techniques thnat will be discussed are shell-based technique and skeleton-basedtechnique. An attempt to clearify and delineate the transition between these two techniques will be made. The possible reasons for transition will then be described and discussed. Syftet är att beskriva och analysera ekonomistyrningen i ett stort försäljningsinriktat företag som nyligen organiserats enligt matrisstruktur. Metod: Det teoretiska avsnittet beskriver relevanta teorier kring ekonomisk styrning och organisationsstruktur. Det empiriska avsnittet består av en presentation av Sydkraft Försäljning AB och de förutsättningar under vilken deras verksamhet drivs. Teorin och empirin ger underlag till problemdiskussionen. Resultatet består framförallt av en uppsummering av problemdiskussionen därefter görs en generaliserande analys.

Denna studie undersöker om lättillgänglig information om matrecepts koldioxidutsläpp kan göra att människor väljer miljövänligare måltider. Studien genomfördes under realistiska förhållanden med hjälp av en webbaserad prototyp som automatiskt beräknar och presenterar olika matrecepts koldioxidutsläpp när användaren surfar på en webbplats med recept. Beteendet vid val av måltider studerades för en grupp om 15 personer, både med och utan användning av prototypen. Deltagarnas upplevelse av prototypen samlades in genom fokusgrupper. Användning av prototypen resulterade i en minskning av deltagarnas genomsnittliga koldioxidutsläpp med ca 2,2 kilo per måltid (45 %).

Processorn används i detta projekt för att möjliggöra en effektiv distansövervakning via USB gränssnittet. I detta projekt har en USB-enhet konstruerats med uppgiften att leverera data från olika givare till en PC. Vidare publiceras dessa data på Internet via en webbserver. This essay represents a chronological and contextual analysis of clay pipes that have been found in the urban settlement of Västergarn during seminary excavations between 2006 ? 2012, conducted by Gotland University. Clay pipes can be dated closely and are useful means for dating and interpreting archaeological contexts from the early modern period, such as house foundations. There have been excavated four house foundations in Västergarn with different sorts of clay pipes dating to the post-medieval period. Can they tell which people used them or which country they were produced? By discussing the meaning of clay pipes in early modern society on Gotland this essay tries to answer these questions..

The aim with this thesis is to develop a plugin; Lovefish, for the purpose of allowing non-realistic renderings (NPR) for visualisation in Newtek Lightwave3D. The main purpose with Lovefish is to offer textured tones, something that has not been offered before by any previously existing shader for Lightwav3D. The textured tones are a substantially widening of what is possible to imitate in the field of classical art techniques. In modern health care, the quality registry is anexcellent tool to monitor everyday work. Collected data forms a foundation, presented as online reports, from which local work efforts to refine care quality can be performed. All reports are coded manually by specially trained developers. This is a tedious process and hence becomes a bottleneck in the strive for improvement.This thesis evaluates whether an extended way of dealing with reports can fit into the existing work situation, with main focus on the idea of creating custom reports directly within a quality registry. It provides a set of conclusions regarding today's usage of reports as well as the users' general and specific needs within the area.
